Via Fossa in Nottingham

It was lovely food but was pretty chilly inside. I could get my wheelchair inside but it was difficult getting to a table. Really lovely food and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely come back once the weather warms up again.

We had a lovely time for my cousin’s christening. Jessie was a fantastic bartender and went above and beyond!

Place gone down hill. Tables outside rotting. Staff sat around a table yet tables outside full of glasses and plates etc. Bottles of sauces left in sunshine at 27-28°C.

lovely atmosphere and friendly environment. The waitress Lilly stood out to me a lot as she was really polite and helpful on the job

Went to Via Fossa a couple times this summer and honestly it's been amazing every time. Great atmosphere for watching sports and the outdoor area is so chill. Staff are friendly and a special shoutout to Owen behind the bar for his charisma and service. He's always entertaining to speak to and a genuine bloke👍🏾

Came in for the euros a couple days ago to watch semi finals. Alfie, Owen, Katie and Holly the bartenders looked after me all night. Honestly would watch every football game here from now on. Prices are good and the service is amazing.

Not too bad. Massive queue for the bar (yes a queue, not a mob, some tard obviously started it and the sheep followed!) so we ordered our drinks on the app. Pretty sure they turned up within an hour. We had serious drinking to do, so couldn't afford this wait time, so went next door and for served with minutes.

Great atmosphere, have great bands on, and really amazing service would definitely recommend. Alfie really helped me out.

Booked the large function room for a 21st birthday party - staff super friendly and helpful - we were able to have access to the room all afternoon to decorate - really good space - well lit - the outside seating area is a bonus - thankyou !!

What a great spot for a pub right on the canal. Me, my wife and our friends enjoyed an afternoon here. There is a great choice of drinks so we indulged in a few and the staff were very friendly and happy to help advise which drinks they recommended. A few new gins tried. We will be back next time we are in Nottingham.

Popped in here with my kid after an orthadontist appointment as we had a gift card to spend. Bar / service staff were absolutely lovely. Very friendly and seem happy to be there! We had starter, main and dessert here and couldn’t fault any of the food. We sat inside but they have a lovely canal side beer garden too which looked great. We’ll definitely be back. Great job, guys 👍

So disappointing! Service was poor for food, not informed of over an hour wait! Had to ask what was going on and when we got it food wasn’t great! Hardly any draft beers on for a weekend! Staff looked fed up and not particularly helpful and the toilets were filthy !

My friend and I visited via Fossa 8th May, we both ordered food and drinks. My friends came out, mine, half an hour after his. When mine arrived, I said to the guy what is that? He replied onion rings and I said there’s only one he laughed and walked away. The chips were cold and the Katsu curry burger was also cold. Received a full refund! Staff were rude and service appalling

Came in for a couple drinks, with Josh and Alfie working. They were EXCELLENT. They were very informative on what Nottingham was like as a town, and provided really nice beers that they had a lot of knowledge about. They were also very entertaining to chat to as a fellow bartender myself. We came quite late but I can confidently say that the outdoor area was huge and had amazing views. In the heat, I reckon it would be insanely nice. Will have to come back again to see what it's like in the summer and to try the food.

We went originally to watch the game, not going well, I ended up having a good wander, there are so many interesting things to see so much history. Lighting, architecture etc. But the best part is that the patio side is now open and it's a sun trap a great place to have you lunch or just enjoy a cold glass of your favourite tipple

Birthday weekend for our son luckily sun was out so we sat outside ! Enjoyed with bottle of wine and some beers and plater sharing

We used the function room upstairs for a 50th birthday. The room was perfect and and dressed beautifully without much effort. Porcia, alfie and owen went above and beyond and made it a very relaxed experience to organise. I would 100% recommend for any future events!

Great priced drinks, large selection of wines too! The food was super tasty, I tried the halloumi and the squid which was great! The overall service was great, especially from Owen!

Stopped in here for dinner before a concert at the arena. Normal Green King menu but nice canalside location. Good selection of drinks.

Ordered food & drink on the Greene King app. Drink came within a couple of minutes. Waited another 20 mins, no food. Barely any customers in pub. Went bar to query, 10 mins later person came out and said the app doesn’t work properly so no one knew I’d ordered food. Asked for full refund, 5 people working there didn’t have a clue how to give refund. Took another 5 mins before someone else came and said to give refund using cash.

Brilliant staff, good beer, live music what more could you want

Cold, smells damp and dreary atmosphere. Bar staff are useless, twice they have tried to take a drink that has not been finished. Asked me what flavour cider I wanted despite only having 1. Awful!!! Avoid. There are much better pubs in Nottingham

Up in notts to see our accountant Had an hour for lunch and couldn’t wander far Popped in here Think it’s more of a student night spot? Quiet Nice barman Order nachos to share (meh), a cheese toastie (fine) and steak& ale pie (surprisingly good) Whole meal was £27.50 so no complaints Toilets grim!

Visiting on a day visiþ to the hospital. Cracking little place to visit. Reaped ìn history and the 2 staff in today 11/3/24 have an amazing knowledge of the place. The prices are competitive compared to other places but the atmosphere is batter. Give it a try. We will be back soon to try a meal.

Security are rude . Don’t let away fans in even thought 15+ minute walk from the ground . Never going again to this pub and made sure to tell all fans as well as Nottingham citizens the rudeness of the security staff . Not being aloud wasnt the problem the attitude on the staff was the problem. Stay clear of this venue.

The team has been outstanding. The food by Chris was EXCELLENT!!!! Alisha again was so welcoming and tended to all our needs. Will be back!

Visited with my partner and friend and considering they were tremendously short staffed the food, service and overall experience was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly and conversated regularly. Special mention to the chef (Tom) food was brilliant !!

Uni student, come here a couple times throughout the month with the lads, place has a great atmosphere and service is fantastic, definitely recommend 👍

As I arrived the staff were very welcoming, me and my partner sat too have a look at the menu before ordering and the staff recommended the steak and ale pies. The food came fast and was perfect, the pie was delicious. Will definitely be back again for food.

Great automsphere fantastic customer service staff and management very polite happy and seeing them all smile proves to me they have great management. These little details is what makes you the best from the rest. We was made very welcome cleaning wise spot on great security management even checked to make sure everything was ok and if we wanted refills, loved it. We'll recommended for family friends or on your own 110% per cent to the management and there staff

Great place Good barstaff no worries good food

No gas for beer. Food took 45 minutes to come out and when it did, it wasn't very nice. Mash was dry, sausages looked like Richmond frozen ones. Bread was stale for the sandwich. Poor all round.

Great pub, good selection of drinks and nice atmosphere.

Once again the food was excellent. I have made my way through the menu on previous visits but never had a burger. I decided to try the Katzu chicken burger with a side order of chicken wings ( to be shared). My fellow diners shared a selection from the sharing platter. As usual the food was served hot, well cooked and delicious by the friendly members of staff.

We arranged a reunion of Army Veterans at the Via Fossa Nottingham. It was the second time that we, as a group, have been to this wonderful Venue. Its location is easy to get too and from and makes it a good choice from the start with countless busses and taxi's being available to bring you to the door and the mainline central railway station is just a 10 minute walk away. We gathered in the Balcony Bar which not only served great beer but was perfect for our needs especially when our Buffet was served. We chose the 'Silver Buffet' from the great menu that is available and it did not disappoint with great presentation ,generous servings and above all it contained an excellent variety of the best tasting food ever. We all agreed that it was the staff of the Via Fossa that bring it together and made it the great place that it is. From the security officers to the duty manager, the bar staff and of course the staff that are busy behind the scenes that no one ever sees ..... we know that they are there by what they do..........the catering team are exceptional and all of the skills required to produce the great food that we were treated to were definitely present. Somewhere in the team there are staff that keep the place, presentable and functional and they too do a great job. Having pleasant and dedicated staff in a large, busy venue definitely made our time at the Via Fossa for our reunion a great success. Many, many thanks indeed .

We attended last week for a grenadier guards reunion, I would like to say how wonderful the staff were, friendly and helpful, we ordered the silver buffet, it was amazing and plentiful. See you all next year!

Came to watch the football with my family, and we all had a bite to eat! Wasn’t particularly business but everything was great, quick service and the food was top notch. 4 big thumbs up from our family!

My band played here, we had a great time and were of course amazing. Great sound, friendly atmosphere and the canal literally on the doorstep for all your swan/goose needs.

Visited on Saturday night the bar was busy but the staff were great and managed everything well! Had the mix and share pub plates which tasted amazing 🤩

Popped in here for pre-gig drinks..The main bar was closed but the basement was open and there was a band playing. Small bar, very loud music but service and people were lovely. Not a regular to the area but would probably come back if going to the motorpoint arena again!

Visiting this place with my friend we were clueless as to how, beyond the great food, how catering, funny and kind the service would be. We were served by a wonderful waitress, Paige, who communicated very friendly and kindly to us in an efficient manner and served our food with upstanding professionalism. Thank you!

Amazing place we found near to the court ! Came 2 days on the run it’s that good, they do a main and drink for £10 ! Tom and Porsha are amazing and super friendly and just downright helpful as we don’t know the local area ! We were visiting Nottingham today when we popped in for food, I had the scampi and steak, my friends had the flat iron steak and steak and ale pie. We were served by a stellar team who consisted of Kaat, Paige and Porsch and also Tom, but Kaat was mainly looking after us and she was an angel, she gave us some good places to visit finish off our trip before we went home. We will be back when we come back to Notts again! Thank you so much. We were going to take photos of the food as it looked amazing but we forgot it all smelt so good and we were ravenous!

Food was as expected from a Greene King. Unfortunately, we couldn't really have a chat whilst sampling the cuisine due to a band conducting a rather loud and lengthy sound check.

Dropped in for a meal before going to see the Buddy Holly Story. As always, the staff were welcoming and eager to attend to our needs. We ordered the fish and chips which was delivered freshly cooked. The batter on the fish was complimented by the crisp bite to the beautiful chips. All in all another successful visit

Regularly visit Via Fossa with friends and family due to its great food! Tried out a new summer item on the menu on the last visit the open camembert and prosciutto sandwich which was delicious and of course had to have some of their fantastic chips

I've tried to get in 3 times in recent weeks. All 3 times been refused by the doormen due to there being more than 20 folk in the pub. Last time was on July 8th at about 4pm. Was told the bar was absolutely rammed, walked past the side entrance and the bar was about 3 deap with customers and not what i would call rammed. These doormen must cost this place a fortune with the amount of people they turn away. Will not return in the future.

Myself and my partner popped in this afternoon with our dog, the staff members were very welcoming. Tristan was the barman that served us, he was very friendly and went out of his way to offer a bowl and water for our dog. Kerry was another member of staff that was very welcoming and friendly, it was a pleasure to chat with her. As we were leaving all members of staff on shift thanked us for our custom, the other member of staff being Tom I do believe. Every single one of them was very attentive.
