Hi Bnova team, I just wanted to say that your staff were amazing in making my parents surprise 50th wedding anniversary party so memeroble. All the guests complemented how attentive they were and what an amazing service they gave. A special shout out to Parth ,Yatin and Dev. The three of them were superb. Many thanks for helping organise this event and going above and beyond to make the event so special. I would recommend Bnova for any of your future parties and events. I was disappointed. I asked whether the samber was sweet or not, and explained that I don't like savoury meals that are sweet. The waiter went to ask. He came back and said it wasn't sweet it was savoury. So I ordered it. It was sweet. I couldn't eat it. I ordered a plain nan bread and that was sweet too. I was very hungrry and left still feeling hungry as I couldn't stand the sweet food. I can't understand why sugar is added to bread and savoury food. If I wanted something sweet, i'd have ordered a dessert. I don't expect to go into a restaurant and the savoury meals and bread to be sweet... unless it states on the menu that the dishes are sweet and contain sugar, but it doesn't state that and they said the samber wasn't sweet. There was a strange taste to the food. I noticed it when I had the fish starter and the main. It must be the oil they use. It tasted like burning parafin. We also waited quite a long time for the food, and there was no one else eating in until much later. The food wasn't worth the wait. One positive was the waiter was nice. That's it

Booked a table at 5.00pm when they opened and asked for a table downstairs for 8pm as one of the party has a bad leg and could not get up the stairs. They took our name and confirmed that would be fine and showed us the table they had reserved for us. We arrived at 8pm and asked for the table we had booked with them at 5pm. Only to be told that they had no tables left downstairs and we could have a table up stairs. They tried to say they got confused as somebody else had arrived in a wheelchair. But they were not on the table they had reserved us . Another party of 6 were sitting there. So don’t make a reservation with them as they don’t keep their word. Will never go back here again. Absolute shambles. Needless to say we had a fab meal at the Marmion.

Went here New Year’s Eve for the first time we both loved the service and food was amazing… looking forward to go back again thanks again jon &Vicky

Picked this restaurant as I loved the look of the old skool red booth-type seating available. The meal/experience we received… The Chicken Vindaloo - lovely tender, tasty Tandoori pieces. Girlfriend had the King Prawn Madras - equally impressive. Great Ghost Ship (local ale) - chilled. No fuss. Wine for the missus - job done. Waiting staff - very knowledgeable and very polite, but also distant at the right timings to allow us to thoroughly enjoy an excellent meal. Would highly recommend. 5 out of 5.

Went to the shire grill last night and it was fantastic. Helpful staff, great atmosphere and the food was the best Indian food that I’ve had in a long time. Well done to all the staff at the shire grill. We all had a great time and can’t wait to see you again soon.

Asked for food to be cooked in pure ghee rather than the usual veg oil and they were more than happy to accommodate. Did not feel ill afterwards and the food was tasty. Will return.

Great food and lovely staff! I got chicken balti with white rice and naan all made fresh and served hot! I’m not originally from here, so I’ve never tried curry and it’s definitely become one of my new favorite foods💜

We’ve been using this restaurant for a number of years now and always been impressed with the excellent food served and good service!. However, our last 3 visits, the most recently being Friday evening 14/3 I am afraid to say it has disappointly slipped. The food remains its normal excellent level but the table service is in urgent need of some extra training. On all three occasions we’ve been shown to our table, drinks and poppadom ordered and served primptly, but then forgotten about. On this last visit it was even more noticeable, as the restaurant wasn’t busy having just opened when we entered. Whilst sitting eating our popudoms the three surrounding tables had now become occupied and served with drinks and their popudoms as we were finishing ours. We sat patiently waiting for the waiter to attend our table to we could place our main order. Unfortunately this didn’t happen as they were now at the recently occupied tables taking their main orders. We patiently waited again, by which time the other three tables were now being served their mains. It resulted in the end me having to call the waiter over and there we sat waiting again. By the time we received our main meal two of the three occupied tables were now vacating their tables and leaving. If this had just happed for the first time I would not be writing this negative review, as I'm a firm believer in that everyone makes mistakes, but we’ve experienced this the last three visits now, twice with visiting friends, having told them how good the restaurant was before the visit! On both of those occasions leaving with egg on our faces apologising for the staffs short falls because waiting for over hour for our mains was unacceptable. We came back on Friday to give them one more last chance and I’m afraid to say they’ve fallen at the first hurdle. I did bring this matter to the attention of the manager at the time who did come to the table to apologise and offer a complimentary drink which we politely declined as we had, had sufficient by then. Before leaving the waited cleared the table of cutlery and crockery asking if I'd like the remainder if my left meal home, a offer which I kindly accepted. He came back and literally dumped 2 boxes with lids and a plastic carrier in the table and left. As I had no cutlery to scrap the contents into the boxes I had to rely on just pouring the contents in hoping half of it didn't end up on the table top. No warm flannel for finger wiping was offered only a few chocolates in a plate. Couldn't get out quick enough and won't be returning if this is what their service has dropped too! I will be taking out business elsewhere from now on. Very, very disappointed
