We have been to The Shire Grill a number of times and this place does not disappoint! We went again yesterday to celebrate husbands and littles birthday! We all went and had the best time! The food, service and staff were absolutely fantastic - definitely recommend this place! Thanks again to the team!

Hair in food which is extremely unhygienic and gross, leads to the question of what hair nets the chefs wear. Food was cold and bland. Instead of chutney they gave Pani Puri water.

Superb experience, 3 old mates went in for the largest Shire Mixed Grill to share, couldn’t eat it all it was huge and excellent value for money, The Grill, 2 Naans 4 popadums and chutney and beers for £54. Will definately be going back and very soon.

My husband and I decided to visit The Shire Grill on New Year’s Eve as a celebratory meal to end the year. The social media platforms paint this venue to be bustling and fun with boasts of great food and service. Despite making a booking online days previous, the staff looked at us dumbfounded when we arrived and didn’t have our table reserved. The server came over to take our order and rather than stand by the side of the table and write our order on his pad, he put his pad down onto the table in front of me and awkwardly leaned into my personal space whist writing the order right under my nose. I’ve never experienced this and just made me feel so uncomfortable, along with it being extremely unprofessional. The same waiter then took our drinks to the wrong table, handed them to the customer before recalling them back to bring over to us. An understandable mistake if it was busy, but there was only 3 tables dining at 7:40PM. We were given our popadom appetizers, which was closely followed by our main course plates which were plonked on the edge of the table, cutlery balanced on top. Now, I’m all for casual service but bringing the plates with the main meal is the appropriate method of service. The main course arrived and apart from the sizzling skillet of chicken tikka, everything was bland and tasteless. We were given no napkins, nor did staff did a checkback on us and I eventually had to flag a member of staff down to request napkins. A little pile of the tinest, poorest quality napkins were left on the corner of our table. The venue was heavily staffed, with the waiting staff standing by the kitchen visibly looking like they would rather be elsewhere. The crossed arms and failure to acknowledge the 3 tables makes for poor service. My husband visited the toilet and reported that only 1 out of the 4 lightbulbs worked, that the toilet was barely bolted to the ground and that it was dirty and dingy. The casual, almost non existent service aside, for the price we paid (£50), we could have dined at a much nicer Indian restaurant in town where tables are dressed with folded napkins and decor, food arrives plated or you are provided with hot warm plates, and you have attentive servers doing checkbacks. Atmosphere is also important to the feeling of a venue and this just didn’t hit the mark. The dirty wonky TVs in the booths and the loud pop music in a nearly empty building just felt very awkward. Extremely disappointing.

Yesterday I ordered a curry online with a gif card with Just eat to collect at 16.30. Arrived to collect at 16.20 at which point I had a text to say the order wasn't successful when I arrived. The person serving behind the bar said there systems wasn't on. I had to pay by card for the meal which should have been free. I was then told it would it would take 10 minutes to get served. 20 minutes later after prompting I go my food and left. During this period another pair which came in after ordered and were served at their table. No apology from the person serving and I wasn't offered a drink whilst waiting. Food was ok not amazing. Awful service and I won't be going back again.

Great food, live music was very good

We had a really great evening at Shire Grill tonight. Excellent food and very attentive service. Bonus of love music too by a wonderful duo. Food is fantastic and reasonably priced too.

This is not a desi/punjabi place to eat. Mix grill was not good at all. No flavour, curry's were average. If you want proper punjabi food you have to travel to Bham/Wolverhampton/Coventry the likes of Grove, Soho Tavern, The crow, Red lion, Glassy Junction, Royal Oak. This place needs alot of effort to complete with similar places

Witnessed ICC world cup final India Vs Australia. So, stayed here for more than 8hrs The match is a heart break 💔 but the service and experience is awesome here. Bathrooms are pretty 🫧 clean. Great experience.

A great meal for a special birthday celebration. Quality of dishes and the right portion sizes meant it was a pretty much all consumed even though we thought we'd ordered too much. A DJ was playing a great set and although the whole ambience was a tad loud it was a great time and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

I enjoy and go to a lot of mixed grill establishments around the West Midlands. To wait over 1.30hr for food to be told; sorry we have ran out of popadoms and then to see other tables in being served them was a joke. After waiting such a long time we were presented with our food which was cold. One of the Worst experience I have had to date at any restaurant. Paid for the drinks and left the restaurant

We have ordered take away a few times and eaten in once at the shire grill. First of all I would like to say that the staff and service here has always been exceptional, especially since Paul the new manager has taken over. He has made the place a much more cosy and atmospheric place to be and is hot on customer service. The food for us has been great. I am from Birmingham and find it hard to find a good curry house around here. I was happy when we came across the Shire grill as it’s the same pub/Indian layout as a place near where I used to live. The naan bread is always delicious and the curries tasty too, the chicken has always been cooked well (not dry) although the curries can be slightly on the oily side when ordering take out. If you want a spicy curry you need to ask for it to be spicy even if the curry you’re ordering is traditionally spicy. I have seen on Facebook that they now cater for vegans, as I am dairy free I am happy to know I can now enjoy my favourite popadums with a vegan mint sauce so will be back again soon to try it!

The service is always great, but the quality of the new menu was amazing. One of our group had the butter chicken naan pizza, and the was described as “expletive“ delicious. My lovely wife had a Punjabi chicken curry, also delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed the hot chicken jalfrezi, amazing. The prices are reasonable, the environment fab the music acceptable, all in all, great food at reasonable prices.

My wife and I came here for a "romantic" meal... (actually kids were at my parents' so we decided to come here). I've been a few times and enjoyed. This time was no different. Good food, lovely atmosphere (at the time we were there), and prices were as expected. Staff are friendly and professional. Can't give it a perfect score as the food, which is good, didn't have an equal variety of all the sizzlers we would like, and there were more of the lower value items, as you'd probably expect. Unlikely to come again as a couple, but more likely to go with a large group.

Food was just okay, restaurant prices, so quite expensive for a takeaway, and didn't get all the food ordered (discovered once I'd returned home). Unlikely to return for a takeaway if I'm honest as there's plenty of competition with better value for money. Visit for the occasional drink when the sun is out.

Not been for a couple of years as found last time we went a bit busy . Went after work and took advantage of the early week special price Any curry any rice for £11.99 good value . Plenty of food !!! AND good value and tasted good !!!

Greasy and soggy food (except for the pakoras, they were okay) even 1 of the dips was expired, it tingled on our tongue. The tables and menus were also dirty with stains and hair..

This is a special local with a great range of food for all tastes and expectations. The drinks, whether on tap or bottled is great value and chilled. Service has always been delivered brilliantly.

Shire Grill are miles apart from any other Indian takeaway in the Leamington/Warwick area. I have a number of allergies and never felt uncomfortable ordering. The staff and management are always on hand to help and insure a top class service!!

We went for the desi breakfast as we've seen it on Instagram. Really impressed with the amazing flavours, very reasonable prices and portions. Would recommend it. It doesn't have the glitz of karak Chai but the food and service makes up for that and more

First visit to the Shire Grill .. and my last. Chips were overcooked and solid, Lamb curry was just slop, lamb was chewy and dry and one piece was just gristle and fat.....naan was nice though .... Staff weren't pleased when we were asked how we enjoyed our meal !!! I read reviews prior to going and decided to make up my own mind ... Should have gone with advice and given a wide berth.....if you want to spend money on a good meal this not the place to do it .... But you don't have to take my word

Went to collect a take away as I’ve been looking forward to a nice curry all weekend. Got it home and put the lot straight into the bin. Didn’t even plate it as it was so bad. The curry looked like sick and was bland with no taste 🤮 I asked for plain chicken noodles with no veg, and once opened was full of onions and some cabbage looking stuff, very little chicken. The rice was cold, the only bit that passed my mouth was a bit off naan bread to dip in the curry or should I say the sick. I will never be returning there or recommending it to anyone. Complete waste of money and time. £35 down the drain.

Not at all authentic. Stale food, food is covered in chill flakes in the name of making it spicy. Absolute waste of money. The place is spacious and has good bar. Staff is alright as well. Recommended to have drinks here but go same good to have food. Not at all an authentic Indian restaurant.

Went with family (young kids) and had a great time. Chilled out setting with great food and friendly staff. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

Food is always fantastic but the quality of the food doesn’t match with the poorly maintained restaurant. Arrived at 16:15 , cold, empty, no music, no staff, stood around for ten minutes waiting for a sign of life. Decided to takeaway in the end as the place was so shoddy. Bartender’s mates turned up and they were riding an electric scooter around the bar and restaurant. Will certainly never dine in but for takeaway it’s fab food.

Had a takeaway the food was great but wasn't ready at the time we were told so had to wait 15 minutes to collect it.

My favourite place to order a burger from it is so yummy! Tasted the pizza for the first time the Punjabi one and it was really nice I would have liked a bit more tomato sauce but that is personal preference. Highly recommend and will be ordering again

The food here is awful and it’s not just based on one single visit. I have been here three times over the last year in the hope that the saying third time lucky came about but I was wrong. Tandoori paneer shaslik came out with some pieces burnt on the bottom and rubbery. The large sizzler was served with chewy lamb chops and tough, dry lamb sheesh kebabs. The chicken tikka was as if they had just mixed it in some bottled red curry paste, no taste whatsoever. The best thing they offer here is the alcohol with the naan breads a close second. The concept is good, a pub serving Indian food that shows live sports but the food is a major let down. It only gets busy because there’s nothing else like it in Leamington but honestly, you’re better off going to Birmingham.

It was a fantastic experience, i myself having travelled around Asia and Southeast Asia i have never enjoyed Indian/Himalayan food so much, excellent Curry's and grill’s. So good in fact, that i’m planning a trip down to have another curry on the afternoon of April 21st with my son. Sounds normal right? Not if your traveling 260 miles to eat it! Yes, its that good! First time visit and won’t be the last, food, staff and atmosphere all great. Being a vegetarian, I thought the mix grill and soya options were fantastic. Will definitely visit again, only improvement I feel could be made is more staff, seemed a little thin on the ground, other than that, all good.

Would not recommend coming/ordering from here. The dishes were lacking in flavour but someone obviously just put some chilli in to make certain dishes spicy. The chicken was bad, I had one mouthful and couldn't eat any more and the sauces on all dishes were very oily and had split (so had a lumpy consistency). The owners are relatively new as we used to come here in previous years and food was great, so a shame to learn that it's been sold on. A wasted £40.

The food here was terrible so wouldn’t recommend to anyone … Don’t know how it’s got a 4.7 rating must have put on themselves!! Had lots of different dishes and everything was whack except the chips 😂 I have tasted 100s of good places and this has no flavour and good all looked microwaved and fried Chicken came out uncooked and all chef dons was put back in the fryer and. And out again like wood Only positive staff were great and the place had plenty screens

Food came out cold. Management didn't really want to do anything about it. Food was re-heated but didn't have much of an appetite by the time it came out again. Portions were poor. They need to get original management back and get the place running properly.

This restaurant is 20mins walk from town center just beside Asda. It has a in-house bar and good sitting space. We ordered Palak paneer, Goan Shire grill fish curry and the Veg sizzler. Loved the fish and Soya tikka were delicious. The palak paneer had the authentic taste of saag.

We went here off the cuff , it was quiet , the food and staff were amazing , rare to find a pub with real food. It was awesome , fresh and homemade. Thank you soo much.

Genuine curry flavours and constant quality of dishes makes us return again and again to this place! Their vegan curries are top notch, especially the 'soya tikka masala' (not on the menu, but just ask!). Don't forget to try the chilli mogo starter - a healthier starter with lots of punch and tangy taste.

Was being served, asked a question about my order, received no reply from person serving who then abruptly disappeared into the back. Thought at 1st maybe she'd gone to get something, so I waited, a 2nd member of staff approached - who then took over, 1st member of staff didn't return. I mentioned a mix-up that had happened, (it wasn't even a big deal & could have easily been resolved), was instead given an irrelevant explanation that had nothing to do with what had happened. There was no attempt to put it right, just defensive & not listening properly. Both clearly didn't want to be there that day & were on their phones quite a lot, bothered by being asked anything. Made worse later on when the same 2 staff were stood off to the side of the bar area, both looking over at me & table I was at with family, throwing funny looks, bearing in mind the place was pretty much empty. Just passive-aggressiveness & immaturity from both of them. Staff need better training. They let the experience down & I won't be returning.
