The Curry Lounge in Wolverhampton

Had a takeaway tonight and it was gorgeous! The madras especially, so flavoursome, thick sauce and plenty of chicken! The Bombay aloo was delicious I would definitely recommend this restaurant to sit in or to takeout.

We have had many takeaways delivered, usually in quick time with the food hot and fresh. The food is mostly of a reasonable flavour and quality, but they seem to make the prices up as they go along. A menu delivered was out of date the new menu we requested also out of date, the web site didn't tally to the amount charged, then a huge mark up from one week to the next ( around 25%) and the web site didn't work. Think we'll give it a while to calm down so we know exactly what it costs before we order again.

Pretty sure the people who have rated this place a 5 star are either staff at the restaurant or have been paid to do so. Worst curry I’ve ever had. Worst meal out I’ve ever had. Clumpy rice. Tasteless sauces. Small portions of meat. Curry was like water. Looks the complete opposite from what you’ve ordered - never had a North Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken looking and tasting like a Korma. Awful.

One of the worst curries ever tasted. Who ever cooked it does not know what a curry is. It certainly is not sweet. Disgusting is too nice a word. The Manager was one of the most unhelpful and least customer friendly person I have ever come across. Blamed everything and everyone else and did not want to resolve the issue. There are a lot of good curry restaurants around, this certainly is not one of them. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

I’ve had loads of takeaways from this restaurant but ate in last night for the first time. The staff couldn’t have been more polite and helpful. They fitted us in at short notice and really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. My main draw to this restaurant is the extensive veggie and vegan takeaway menu and the restaurant experience was just as good. Loads of choice for non meat eaters, my vegan best friend couldn’t believe how many options she had compared to other restaurants she’s visited! The food was excellent and the vibe in the restaurant was super relaxed and friendly. Can’t rate this place highly enough.

We are regulars, food is lovely but home delivery is AWFUL. First order 1hr 1/2 to arrive and excuse was car broke down. Second time order 2 1/2 hrs to arrive. Such a shame

My daughter recommended this place and the food was delicious. Tried four different curries and they all tasted lovely. Highly recommend this place.

The food was amazing the first time I tried it so I had to revisit and it was amazing once again. The restaurant has a variety of menu choices at a reasonable price which is always a bonus. From now on this restaurant will be my go to.

I recently ordered from here and have to say the food was amazing very hot and now Has become a personal fav. Delivery are prompt and lovely friendly staff. Looking forward to our next meal😊

Was passing by curry lounge restaurant in Wolverhampton my kids wanted to have some curry normally I use my local indian restaurant so at first I was in 2 mind if to order or not . We are so glad we ordered food from curry lounge as the food was fantastic the taste , the texture was fabulous and it was piping hot. We enjoyed the food now iv got problem my kids said if they have curry they want it from curry lounge thats 10 mile i have to drive but it will be worth the journey as we are extremely pleased with the food and service. Ordered a local, the curry lounge leaflet looked great . Placed an order, was really looking forward to having this tonight, we were told it would be up to an hour delivery on the phone , no problem prime time Saturday evening. 1hr and 30 later delivery man was very polite and apologetic and I said it’s no problem , considering it’s busy evening you would expect the food to taste and be fresh but it was far from it . I ordered a chicken jalfrezi , the meat seemed very dry and not fresh even with the sauce, the dish had nice amount of heat but that’s as far as I could go with it , my partner ordered a lamb biriyani which the rice was cold and very stodgy again meat was tough and rubbery. Onion bhajis were okay nothing more on it . But we also ordered some masala fries; would not recommend ( came like a packet of slop and couldn’t even find the chips) naan breads were in a polite way of putting it - cremated! they were actually that bad we couldn’t eat them. Unfortunately guys you have lost a customer for the future. I hope their dining in experience after Covid is better then their takeaway . Would not eat here again.

Ordered at 6pm was told would be an hour or just over 3 hours later food came after numerous calls and phone put down on answer. Food was cold and had to be heated up in microwave!and items missing. I would not recommend this place to anyone have given many chances because of wrong order or items missing.customer services could have rung to let us know what was going on.when complained to delivery person there reply was they got it in the neck from all customers complaining on being late because they took too many orders and focused on quantity instead of quality .I have messaged the restaurant and they have read the message but not replied like I said Bad customer service 👎

Have been a customer for years takeaway and takeaway. Tonight we ordered for 5 people, I ordered a jalfrezi which I normally have or a Fusion. I couldn’t eat it it was laden in chilliest. My daughter called to complain and there was no offer of a refund or a replacement. All other meals were good.

I went and collected some food and it was the best food I had in a while. Highly recommend this place. Service was excellent. Keep it up.

This is likely the 5th time we have ordered from The Curry Lounge in Wolverhampton; It is with regret that tonight was our final time. The first order we made back in March/April time was delicious. The food was hot, fresh and packed with flavour: a solid 9/10. Since then, with each order we have become more disappointed and dissatisfied. While the food is always prepared quickly and delivered efficiently, standards have become sloppy. Tonight, we thought we would give the Lounge another punt and ordered our usual. The delivery came quickly and efficiently (we overlooked the fact the driver was not wearing a mask or adhering to any social distancing rules). Upon arrival, we found the lamb balti had spilled out into the bag and soaked the other food items, the parotha was missing from the order and the raita had curdled in transit (we assume from sitting atop the hot food). We called them up straight away, and the friendly guy on the other end of the phone offered to replace the order immediately for which we were grateful. Less than 20 mins later, the second order arrived and we received a personal apology which again, was appreciated-- these things happen-- and we took the food inside. After opening the bag, we quickly discovered yet another spilled curry: this spill worse than the last. The curry had seeped through the foil-packed naan bread and poppadums. After the previous ordeal, we decided to just salvage what we could and to be perfectly honest, the meal we had so looked forward to was a giant disappointment. The curry was almost flavourless, sloppy and overpowered by tomato--it was red-tinged and sickly sweet-- kind of like a bolognese with an Indian twist, albeit lacking any real flavour. The long-anticipated parotha was dry and floury and the poppadums were soggy and smelt of fish. All in all, a poor show from Curry Lounge and one we refuse to experience again.

First time using Curry Lounge, it won't be the last. Excellent food, delicious, hot, arrived on time, good value, plenty of choice and veggie options. What more can I say. It was lovely.

got my order wrong tried to say i didn't ask for things and i did and there was nothing they could do about it, its just unacceptable when they have made the mistake, used to love the place their really letting there standards slip now.

Had a takeaway and Found a fly in my curry so obviously wanted a refund. When I called they said no way was it possible pretty much calling me a liar. Never going there again 🤢

Food delivery took 2 hours then when it came it was disgusting! I didn’t even let my dog have it these people haven’t a clue about Indian food it was sweet I think they use sugar instead of salt! Never again rather starve!

What can I say! The food is excellent here as are the staff. The menu is vast and the portions are generous. You can take your own alcoholic beverages in but not soft drinks...you have to pay for those.If you are anywhere near the Stafford Road and are in search of a curry then visit here....you can't go wrong.

It’s my partners favourite place for a curry. The service is exceptional. I had a problem with my takeaway and the way they handled it was brilliant.

Can believe whenever you go here for a curry, you always get one that's freshly cooked to order, can taste every ingredient they use and so rich with flavour, and big enough for two meals, Never have a been to anywhere before where the portions are so large for 1, which means I get 2 meals for 1 price excellent value, I've had a few others from around the area and not a scratch on the curry Lounge, keep up the great work, nothing is too much trouble with the staff, and any problems its sorted there and then.(Not that there are problems).. Anyway Another great curry, cant see why its 18 in the Reviews , should be in the top 10 of places to eat, or takeaway .. Keep up the great work we will return ..

Friendly staff serving good food, portions ample. Take your own drinks as no alcohol served. Food nice and hot and well presented.

We go every couple of months for a night out in a group of 10/12 and in between my family love a take away from this restaurant. The staff can never do enough for you and the food is excellent. My husband in particular loves the lemon chilli rice and my son enjoys the chicken nagar. My daughter in law and her Mum are vegertarian/vegan and the owner is always happy to do something special for them both. We are booked in tonight for a meal with friends for two birthdays and I just know we will have great food in a great venue.

The place was very busy and oviously the food was a little delayed but the people serving made sure we were comfortable and explained the delay. They also dealt very symapathetically with a drunk person who could have caused a lot of upset. The person in charge dealt with problem and defused any possbility of escalation. \so well done. The food was very good and we were looked after very well. Thankyou.

Thought we would try somewhere different and found the Curry Lounge was highly recommended on Trip Advisor. Certainly were not disappointed. Modern decor. Spacious and clean. Good variety and different/unusual dishes on menu. Well cooked and very tasty.

Family meal out that we all enjoyed, especially me as i had the healthy option which is slimming world friendly. Staff were friendly, chatty, nice and helpful. We don't live close but definitely worth the trip especially if your dieting.

Wolverhampton is some ware you get a wide range of curry’s this place was fine. Service was on the ball and menu selection suited us.

We have been here many times, but they never disappoint. The staff are friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The food is varied, reasonably priced and very tasty.

My daughter and I asked if there were any vegan options available and instantly were given a number of special dishes to choose from. We both chose something different so we could try each other’s and both dishes were amazing. Excellent service to go with it means restaurant is absolutely a firm favourite now.

Chose this place due to the Tripadvisor waiting. Went in at 6 and were the first people there. The manager was excellent, asking us what our preference were and building a our dish based on our tastes. Was a bit confused when starters we hadnt ordered arrived but were informed it was complimentary which Im not going to argue about, especially as it was amazing.

Visited Sunday with my brother and sister-in-law to round off a fantastic weekend following Wolves mauling of Man Utd in the FA Cup.

what can I say this is by far the best curry restaurant in the area. great quality tasty food, great portions. friendly staff always happy to advise or recommend. we love it and will be back as soon as we can. once you visit the curry lounge you won't want to go anywhere else

Okay so In the midst of a meltdown we decided to order an Indian takeout.. so we ordered.. it took forever to be delivered.. and it comes but they’ve forgotten the naan bread, not a major issue but you know, we drop them a call and am like.. hi can we get our naan bread, you forgot it.. RATHER THAN APPOLOGISE.. they argue that they did put the naan bread in the bag and infer were liars 1/10 only recommend if you fancy a meltdown

Our first visit to curry lounge with friends who had booked a table for us as we were visiting from Birmingham . We found the food and service to be first class, we were able to taste the layers of spices and complexity of flavours which was outstanding, I would love a restaurant like this near us, sadly nothing of this quality where we live.i will recommend to other friends who live in the area. Just amazing!!

Really enjoyed our visit to the curry lounge. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help all of us. The food was delicious and there is plenty of it! The staff regularly checked on us and made sure everything was to all of our needs. If there was something you wanted but it was not on the menu they would specifically cook you something to your choice. Highly recommend this place and will re-visit.

Food was delicious and the staff were really friendly and a great laugh. Felt really welcomed which definitely made the night. If it’s not on the menu they will go out there way to make it. Any left overs they are happy to tub it up as takeaway. If you want a hot lovely curry this is the place to go.

Always an excellent curry here never disappoints us. 1 daughter always has English however love it that they make her a special curry to try. Be back soon.

Been here a fair few times now. Always an enjoyable evening. Great food, fantastic service and friendly staff. What you want not on the menu, don't worry. The staff will happily make what you want. I recommend the combination dishes (best way to try two dishes without coming across greedy).

Three of us turned up without a reservation. Even though they were busy they found us a table. We were told by the manager that he had two specials on, one was a dish inspired by a Michelin Chef. It was a salmon (or king prawn) delicately cooked in special spices, lime and curry leaves and decorated with tiny flowers. It had a little kick to it from fresh chilli but not firey hot. If you are offered this dish, please give it a try, it is gorgeous. As always an enjoyable evening.

Visited with my friend and what a lovely place this is. Very clean and decor nice. All staff are really friendly and lovely. Food was good but I had the house special which I found a little bland but still nice. Would definitely go here again.

Have been using this place for years and have never had a bad meal there. Staff are friendly, polite and very helpful. The food is amazing and the chiefs will cater for eveyones tastes. Would recommend to everyone 👍

Despite good reviews, and it's convenient location, we hadn't tried the curry lounge before. We phoned through an order and I collected. The food was excellent, and still hot, which can be an issue sometimes. The price wad also good. Looking at the premises they seem to have expanded recently, the seated eating area is now twice the size. The seating looks good, typical of this type of establishment. The staff were attentive and efficient. I Will use them again.

Been several times as a couple and with friends and the service and food is always good. Waiters offer advice on the menu and have always been right. A bonus that you can take your own alcohol.

Went last night for my nans birthday, really lovely atmosphere and staff are super friendly and the food is delicious, I even got a starter I asked for that’s not on the menu - I would definitely recommend for a tasty Indian meal in a beautiful and relaxing setting.

So lucky to be within walking distance of this fantastic restaurant. We always go when friends stay, when family are here or just as a couple. Staff go out of their way to look after you. The food is a little bit different than your normal curry house. Inventive fusion recipes mean that you can try something new as well as old favourites. There is now a craft beer pub next door as well. As a regular I am never disappointed!

As regulars I like to try different things from the menu even though I do have my favourites. I'm always impressed by the quality of the food and good service. The staff are a real credit to the restaurant and couldn't be more friendly. We will continue to eat here. Thank you all

Visited this restaurant last night for a regular meet up with friends. Four of us ordered different meals with different side orders. In no time at all it arrived, hot plates and beautifully presented. All the food was delicious and hot. Best restaurant in the area. Well worth a visit.

The owner and manager do everything they possibly can to make your visit the best. Nothing is too much trouble. If you want something not on the menu, they will accommodate it. We have been a few times now. The food is delicious and made to our tastes. The service is excellent. If you have any problems with the food they will happily change it.

Another great evening, Syed and the team are very friendly and welcoming. Your lamb ball starter is to die for!, we have never had a bad meal. We have been in parties of 35 and also just the two of us, service and food is amazing. Keep up the good work. See you again very soon

After leaving a 5* review for a wonderful meal a long time ago we decided to have a takeaway.

Visited here with family. First time been inside to dine. Service was appalling. When we arrived we were shown to our table straight away. Then after half an hour we had to ask the waiter for drinks. Then after being there 40 mins they finally came to take our order. Eventually when the food came it was delicious. Only ever had a takeaway before & that's the way forward. Wouldn't advise to sit in & eat.

Another great meal.. not many diners in due to the snow.. but everything was just perfect, great food always guaranteed here. The staff are lovelg too, very friendly and can't do enough for you. See you all again very soon.

Manager was pretty patronising and spoke to us like we'd never eaten a curry before. Food was mostly luke warm, service was really slow. The manager offered us complimentary sides as we were celebrating a birthday that then they appeared on the bill (this wasn’t a misunderstanding as we watched the manager write up the bill) this deception is clearly a regular thing. If this really is the best curry people have said it is in the reviews you really do need to get out more

Will cook any food to your taste. Spotless clean and very friendly. The kitchen is so, so clean. I always end up taking food away with me! Brilliant.

Revisited our favourite restaurant again. Absolutely love it here. Never disappointed. Syed the manager recommended both my starter and main meal. Wow fantastic as usual. I'm told you can tell where the influence of the food at a restaurant comes from. With this in mind I have decided they must have come from heaven itself. The nomination for another curry award at the national's is well deserved

Visited several times over the years and The Curry Lounge never disappoints. Friendly, courteous staff always on hand to give recommendations when you're being indecisive. Fairly priced dishes with generous portions. The mango, coconut, & honey lassi is fabulous!

Our family visited The Curry Lounge again last night, this time to celebrate my dad’s birthday. He’s been a big fan of Indian food for most of his adult life (he’s almost 70 now, so he knows his curries!) Anyway, for Dad, the evening meal with his family at The Curry Lounge was easily his favourite “birthday present”. He always look forward to visiting, and so do we. The food, he says, “just seems to get even better every time” and we have to agree with him. It’s really top notch!! The staff are also just so welcoming, and so attentive, they really help to make our night an event, not just a meal. We will undoubtedly be back again soon. Well done guys for keeping your standards so high!

Booked for five and seven of us turned up! They were not fazed at all, dealt with professionally. Great food as always, hot food on hot plates. Staff very attentive.

Have visited the Curry Lounge a few times in the past few years while on holiday from Spain. Excellent food and service. Huge menu. I'm not easy to please when it comes to curry, but there food is always up there! Will return soon. Thoroughly recommend!

This is a great restaurant with a fine menu. The food, both in house and take away, is varied and always superbly cooked and presented. Guests bring their own alcohol if they wish as the restaurant just had soft drinks on sale. Water is automatically brought to the table.Staff at the restaurant are friendly and helpful, giving prompt and efficient service. The Curry Lounge is simply the best Indian restaurant in the area.

Lovely staff. Food is really nice. I like it hot and had a madras. Wife is a hit of a korma girl but had a tasty pathia and loved it. Little one was looked after too with a small portion of chicken tikka. It's a really good place to eat. Decor is tidy and smart. Manager greets with a hand shake and makes you feel very welcome. Worth a visit!

I come here with my family a lot and it's just consistently brilliant, starter platter is a must try and Syed the manager is a brilliant host, mains are always excellent and the service second to none recommend to all my friends and family can't go wrong here

We visit the Curry Lounge regulary and it is a very modern restaurant and the food is always superb and the menu is very varied. There are the usual curries but many more fusion dishes that I haven't had anywhere else and the flavour of these are particulary good with great breads and rices and all at a reasonable price. Syed and his staff are always very helpful and the service is exceptional. We are lucky in this area in having such a variety of Asian food available, but this is by far our favourite.

I have always enjoyed Indian and Asian food, and have tried many restaurants over the years....but The Curry Lounge has become one of my firm favourites. I live twenty miles away, but some of my family live near to The Curry Lounge. It's so excellent, I'm finding myself thinking up new excuses to make the forty-mile round trip to visit the family even more often just so we can all visit this restaurant together. It's well worth making the trip! The staff all make us feel so welcome and remember who we all are, and the kinds of dishes we enjoy. Their friendliness is genuine and they really do want you to enjoy your time there, not just "eat and run". The food has always been consistently excellent. Clearly starting with high-quality ingredients, which are then expertly cooked, resulting in a wide variety of mouth-watering dishes. Try it, you won't regret it!

Great food as always and friendly and helpful staff.Always come in on a Friday and other days when I can.Bring your own drinks but they prefer you not to bring soft drinks as they sell them.

The place is small and is ideal for parties, however on my visit a party of about 12 people sat on the table next to me one of the party was very loud and appeared to have had to much to drink before going to this place, although the place do not sell alchol this party took in a lot of drink, and this one person spoilt my visit.

Once again a lovely meal..piping hot, I chose mushroom & cheese naan, chicken Tikka Massala, special mushroom rice...all perfect.!! The staff here are so friendly... and they provide high chairs for the little ones!! Take you're own alcoholic drinks. Nothing is too much trouble..We'll be back.. Thanks for great evening.

This was my first visit here after my Daughter recommended it, and I have to say it's the best curry I have had in a long time, everything was so fresh and the nan breads were the best I've ever had. The staff are very friendly and polite will definitely be back.

We booked a table for really early evening before a football match.The service was excellent, the staff were really friendly, popadums came out quickly and were fresh. We ordered starters and a main meal, both were really good quality.We ordered a balti and a chicken tikka rogan dish. Food arrived hot and the quality of the ingredients very good, my balti could have been a little bit spicier. Overall a solid 8/10
