The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

We enjoyed the food and drinks. The staff was friendly, and the service was attentive.

We dont tend to bother these days with Indian restaurants as they all seen to serve the same tasting bland Pataks food you can buy everywhere but this place is something completely different. It was recommended to us by the owners of Trelawney Hotel and after our stay there its clear their standards are very high we thought it might be worth a look. The place is small but cosy and the staff are attentive but not pushy. A lot of the dishes on the limited menu we have not seen before including a couple of " home style" dishes which sounded really tempting so we plumped for those. The food was the best Indian cuisine we have ever had (we have Rusholme on our doorstep) and the bread, I forget its name but again more the style of food you would be served in a Asian household was fabulous. The chef even came out of the kitchen to ask us about our dining experience which was a really nice touch, she clearly cares about and values her customers. The bill was quite frankly cheap and we enjoyed it so much we returned a couple of nights later. We cant recommend this restaurant highly enough, try it for yourselves , you wont be disappointed.

This place is amazing, always meets my expectations & beyond. I love the fish curry… & they will tailor to your tastes. Great service & fabulous atmosphere…. Keep up the great work guys!!!

My father has recently moved to Camberley and as a result we’ve been looking for a new Indian Takeaway - A ‘must’ given my Dad is quite the connoisseur. We had previously tried a restaurant/takeaway with ‘Ch!11i’ in the name located on the London Road but, they failed miserably - Such a disappointment given the reviews (baffling!) and central location. Last night we ordered from Ali Shan to try our luck. Whilst a little further out of the way (we collected), we were not disappointed! We ordered Pilau Rice, Onion Baji, Garlic Naan, Peshwari Naan, Chicken Dansak, Chilli Tikka Massala, Chicken Tikka Massala and Saag Aloo. The portion sizes are generous. The Onion Bajis were crisp on the outside but softer and full of flavour on the inside. The saag aloo was well seasoned/spiced and the Dansak and Chilli Massala were full of flavour and spice. My Chicken Tikka Massla wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was still very good and delicious - Worth a repeat visit. Ali Shan are also heads above the rest in the tenderness of the their chicken. We all agreed the chicken was cooked perfectly, it was succulent and juicy. Overall, a sold 8.5/10 here and we’re pleased to have found a new curry house for Dad. See you soon Ali!

Normally really enjoy red chilli but the curry had more vegetables than sauce and meat and the naans were sadly burnt. Was also mega pricey this time round ! So disappointing.

After hearing many friends rave about the food I decided to check it out and wasn't disappointed. I ordered the lamb tikka massala and it really was Incredible. Easily the best I've ever tasted. Staff are great, can't do enough for you. The restaurant itself isn't huge but doesn't feel cramped either. They don't sell alcohol, however the shop next door has a good selection and with parking at the rear of the building there's nothing to complain about at all. Highly recommend booking a table, you won't be disappointed.

Gran servicio, cálida bienvenida y comida increíble. Soy vegetariana y pedí a Dhai Baigon que fuera realmente suculento. . mi amiga tenía chuletas de cordero y biryani y estaban súper deliciosos. . el camarero era muy educado, y amable. Las fotos no justifican el sabor. Realmente relación calidad-precio! Sin duda volvería de nuevo.

Really nice experience. Pleasant welcome good location with parking. No draught beer unfortunately. The food was delicious though. We had chicken madras, tikka masala, butter chicken and chicken korma, vegetable Pilau rice and garlic and keema naan breads. Food was very good. The tikka masala had a flavour of cinnamon, not common, but not unpleasant. The madras was one of the best. The vegetable rice and naan breads were delicious. We asked for tikka in the madras and in the butter chicken, it didn't appear to be tikka in the currys, however, very good food though. Would recommend a visit.

Intentamos comer aquí después de leer comentarios positivos y estaba muy cerca de nuestro hotel. Cuando llegamos era tranquilo, con solo 2 mesas ocupadas. Tardamos 20 minutos en que nos pidieran una orden de bebidas, y entonces no tenían lo que había en el menú. La única dama que servía no hacía ningún esfuerzo a los clientes y se quedaba en la parte de atrás del mostrador cerca del chef toda la noche cuando no servía. Tardó 1 hora en llegar el motor de arranque, tiempo durante el cual 6 - 7 conductores de entrega entraron a recoger y fueron y enviados fuera, diciéndoles que sus pedidos no estaban listos. El chef fue bastante grosero y pude oírlo decir groserías desde la cocina. Literalmente, a un conductor se le dio una orden para que la recogiera, y al resto se le envió lejos... esto parecía muy extraño. Llegaron los entrantes y fueron muy sabrosos y sabrosos. 90 minutos después de entrar pedimos una segunda copa, pero ahora se habían quedado sin la alternativa al original que se habían quedado sin. Mala planificación de su lado. Una pareja se fue sin comprar después de sentarse 25 minutos sin tomar ninguna orden de bebidas, y estábamos a punto de salir cuando llegó nuestra red. Mi esposa es vegetariana y había pedido unas madras de verduras y nos pusimos a señalar a la camarera que era vegetariana. El chef le había hecho unas madras de pollo. No se ofrecieron disculpas, y ya habíamos tenido suficiente. Pagamos por nuestra 1 bebida y entrantes y nos fuimos. Planificación atroz, servicio al cliente terrible, stock de bebidas pobres, ¡Dios sabe si los clientes pobres alguna vez recibieron sus comidas para llevar! Es una pena porque la comida que habíamos probado muy bien. El chef claramente no puede hacer frente incluso a una noche moderadamente ocupada, y el personal de espera simplemente no le importa. EVITAR COMO LA PESTE

Food was not great. Passanda tasted and looked like no other passanda we’ve ever had. Lamb chops didn’t taste very nice. Wuick delivery service but I won’t be going back.

Ok so its new years eve to give context however we arrived at 7-20 not late in the evening and found we were having long waits between services, food that was cold and dry chicken (not there normal stranded).Staff was way overworked and food orders were mixed up for other tables or cold. The issue is this was always going to be a busy day so why allow online delivery as a priority over in house customers this service should have been closed for the day as clearly all issues stemmed from the kitchen. It will be a long while till I come back if ever.

Went for family dinner on Xmas day. Superb,even better than our expectations. Staff,food both excellent.Highly recommended

Great food, wonderful service, and they support Palestine - thus I support them. Truly enjoy eating here. The only thing I'm missing - and this is incredibly nitpicky, I admit - there are no traditionally Indian desserts on the menu, no mango lassi, and not even spiced tea with milk (aka chai). There's really nothing for me to complain about other than missing a couple small staples I'd expect from an Indian restaurant. Food's been great across the board! Happy to come back here whenever I'm in the area!
