Came here for the first time yesterday for my birthday dinner and found that we were rushed to eat our food before the next booking arrived. The staff were not as friendly. The atmosphere was as nice but very dark so couldn’t really see what we were eating. We asked for an additional table lamp which we got but had the comment from the staff to say that they would need to take it back if another booking comes in. Starters were nice but the mains were OK. I probably would come back here after this experience. This place definitely caters for those customers that drink, which is slightly discriminatory.

We had an absolutely delicious meal for my husband's birthday. Everything was beautifully presented and every dish was delicious and of exceptional quality. Our two young children loved the drama of the dry ice! We enjoyed excellent service at a comfortable table. Don't forget to take your beers or wine! We will definitely return :)

Unreal food and staff. BYOB which saves a lot of money on booze. Go to lovely shop next door for cold wine and beers. VERY good price for food quality

Woah what a night. Food was amazing as expected but the service was really an echelon above. The waiter named Mo was magnificent, he's a real gem. I would highly recommend this restaurant to absolutely anybody!

Extremely disappointed by desi food cause it was wayyyy tooo sweet! If you’re looking for a tuny bit of spice, it’s almost impossible to get it. Even after mentioning that we want it spicy, every dish including started and main course was veryyy sweet. Not recommended for indian or pakistani people at all.

Mo, was truly amazing he had everything perfect. We celebrated a 60th birthday and engagement. I can’t fault anything at all such a beautiful and friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be back again with family friends!

Delicious food and a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. The only reason I am not giving this review 5 stars is because towards the latter part of our visit, I suspect, they needed our table cleared for another booking. They cleared our plates after we finished our meal, but didn't offer us the dessert menu or check if we wanted anything else. We sat for a while patiently waiting, as we appreciated that the restaurant was busy, but ultimately ended up asking for the bill due to no service. Even though we had only been in the restaurant for just over an hour, I would have rathered they were honest and communicated that they needed the table back, if this was the case. Aside from that, the service was good and we would nonetheless return.

Had a great meal here last Friday. Staff friendly and not too over attentive. Bringing your own drinks really saves a lot, you can order even more food! Only complaint from me is it's very noisy when full, could do with some soft furnishings. Now refurbished and much better , food is still the best!

Rubbish service keep you waiting for an hour , no friendly response at all

Good food, but took a while. The worst thing is that it’s hard to see the food or even the person you’re talking to, dark snd dingy with barely any lights on. I understand less light could be somewhat relaxing and for some romantic, but this one gone too far

First time eating at Zyka as recommended by a friend and it did not dissapoint. The food was amazing and the staff were so lovely and attentive especially Muhammed and Abu.. Had a lovely night.

I went from Birmingham with my friend and my son. It is a very welcoming and friendly restaurant. We had ordered Paani Puri shots, butter chicken, lamb Karahi, garlic naan. For dessert we ordered gulaab Jamun, ice cream and chocolate cake. I have to say the taste was 💯. My son said ‘it was the best food ever!’ Thank you so much for your hospitality. I will definitely visit again.

Clean and classy very nice food

5/5 is well deserved for this restaurant, we booked last minute on the evening, and they closed at 10, but everything was still amazing. Not rushed or anything, food was not only tasty, but piping hot, good quality. Child friendly as well, the atmosphere was nice, it was a cosy but nice vibes restaurant. Staff were so polite and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend and will visit again.

Lovely award winning local restaurant. Food was nice and tasty. Nice atmosphere. When my husband broke a glass there was no problem- cleared quickly. You can bring your own drink so makes this do much cheaper. Thoroughly recommend.

Amazing quality of food, perfect waiter service gets very busy but that's what you get when the food is so good!! Wednesday set meal is a bargain not to be missed make sure you book a table before you go!

Your customer service over the phone is rude, how can you tell a paying customer that you have time limit. By the way the cab driver we caught to come to your place then mentioned that he use to work there and he witnessed that they would literally take food of plates and re-serve to customers. So please report to Google as I am free to share my experience.

I could not recommend this restaurant more. The street food menu is incredible, especially the calamari. The service is exceptional too, everything was so quick and the staff are lovely. It’s great value for money and I can’t wait to go back.

Went up last Sunday night (june 30th) with 6 others. Excellent service, very helpful despite a few of us turning up late (blame football 😂), recommended certain dishes to try. Starters, street food and the curry with rice and breads were all top drawer 👌 Table booked for this friday with a different 6 people. Can't wait!!!

A lovely meal. We dined in for the first time - we’d had a few home deliveries previously. The food is so well cooked - you can taste the care the chef has taken with the preparation. The front of house take as much care - engaging and attentive. An easy recommendation. We’ll be back! ❤️

Amazing restaurant I would recommend to my circle every day. Didn’t expect to find such a place in Tilehurst/Reading. I went for something simple (tandoori smashed burger) and I was very impressed. I’m not a chicken burger person but so would come back for this one as the experience were totally new. Definitely value for money this place. I will Come back. Wow, what a great meal I had with my brother and his wife. The food is outstanding, it's not licensed, so you can take your own, (or buy it from the store next door) The service, again was great with good advice from the team, definitely worth a visit. The Wednesday night banquet is great value, but you've got to book early and because the portions are generous we had some food to take away as well. Perfect.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff

I ordered zyka the other day, was really looking forward to my meal (which was £18.45) but the chicken korma tasted nothing like any korma I’ve had before, it had no flavour and tasted slightly plasticky and was dark orange in colour. The garlic naan tasted extremely plasticky and was nearly inedible. The rice was ok but didn’t really taste like pilau rice at all. Maybe I’m just used to the amazing Indian restaurants in Blackburn and the north west but I’ve never tasted a curry like this before! Also made me quite ill for days afterwards which was awful :( was also very expensive, unfortunately wouldn’t return again
