We ordered two chicken bhuna’s and a Punjabi butter chicken, our Bhunas were ok but my mums so called Buttef Chicken was actually a Korma, we told the manager and although he did offer us a different dish, he was very rude, we said to him that butter chicken should not be coconut flavoured…. He said that if my mum would like to try to make a butter chicken in his kitchen, then serve it to the customers, then see who’s curry people would rather eat! How rude! Photos of so called Butter chicken below

This is my favourite Indian in Chester but despite Google saying it’s open I’ve gone to go there twice on a Sunday and Wednesday evening in the past 3 weeks and it hasn’t been open. No opening times on website either. Went to gate of India on city road instead. Would call ahead if making the trip

I have been visiting Shaan for the best part of 20 years. However, the last couple of times, it has been noticed that drinks have been added to our bill (writing isn't really elegible - is this on purpose?) even though they weren't ordered. Both times, the manager has claimed that it was by accident. Food and service standard hasn't been up to scratch either.

We went to the restaurant on Sunday evening whilst staying in the village! We decided to try some new dishes with the expert advice from the wait. I had the Kathmandu curry, which was incredible. Reasonably priced as well. The waiter was very knowledgeable. The service was excellent and the food Was amazing. We would definitely return when we are in the area next time. Thank you for a lovely experience.

We had a wonderful meal at Montaz. The starter we ordered was a sharing platter that was most impressive. The lamb curries for the mains were superb, full of flavour, while the salmon dishes are also delicious and very delicately spiced. The staff mentioned they change the menu every six months, too. We felt very welcome and left satisfied with plans to go back soon! There is easy parking nearby and very reasonably priced. Thanks to the great team who served us.

This is a delightful old fashioned pub with superb caterers cooking wonderful Indian food. Sukhi who owned it is really pleasant and as soon as he heard I had a flat battery left what he was doing and brought out a charger then jump leads which was well over and above what I expected. He also made the AA man and myself mugs of coffee. I explained to her AA man how good it is so we will both be returning fir great hospitality Thank you Sukhi Much appreciated 👏 David

Having lived in Bath for 30 years i can tell you this is the best curry in Bath. For a traditional curry they don't come better than this great flavours, consistent high quality and really nice people always bust and operate with a half open kitchen so you can see people making your food. There are places in Bath now making Indian fusion food charging more and producing a worse tasting curry. We travel past 3/4 curry houses to get to Panahar. Worth it everytime!

In the area for the weekend at an Air B&B, not far away from this restaurant. Busy, but they fitted us in. Booked online no issues, table for 2. Seating wasn't great but we managed at a very busy time for them. Big birthday party on, but we still felt valued customers. Food was excellent. I had the sea bass starter, it was cooked to perfection and tasted out of this world. Portion sizes were great, I'm a big eater and didn't manage to eat it all. We had the set menu for £18.99, well worth it. Staff were great not over powering, there when we needed anything. Wouldn't hesitate to go again.

Saturday walk with family and the dog . Lovely welcome and excellent food in a pretty pub. Always nice to return . The walks in Shirley estate are lovely and this pub makes an ideal lunch or evening meal stop . You can sit outside with a good view of the pretty village or sit inside with log burners on cold days .

Our second time here and it was just as good as the first. We had onion bhajis and mirch wali fish to start, the fish was gorgeous. For mains we shared lamb khumbhara, chicken khagani with mushroom rice and a garlic naan. The staff are lovely the food is great and they have some lovely pictures on the walls, what’s not to love! We’ll be back next month when we’re in Derby to see another band.

Came here with a couple of friends during a one night stay in Hathersage and so glad we did. First tip is make sure you book. We came on a Saturday night and it was really busy but our table was ready. The menu had a massive selection to suit all tastes. The food was delicious with beautiful spicy and herby tastes washed down with bottles of Cobra. Even though it was very busy the staff were friendly and attentive. We were also pleasantly surprised at the value for money when we got the bill. Would definitely recommend.
