Maazi Indian Restaurant in Derbyshire Dales

Lovely meal, decided to visit, despite reading some recent negative reviews, looked in window, there was quite a few people in, so went for it. Didn’t regret it, had popadoms and pickle tray, and a great Rajasthani railway lamb curry! Service was great, with the bonus of a gluten free lager for the hubby.

Have been here many times over the last few years. Our early visits would have been 5 star ratings, everything excellent. Not as good as it used to be. Popadum sauces are now thin watery ready made catering sauces. The King Prawn starter was unrecognisable to what it used to be, just a wodge of something chewy. Mains were fairly tasty ,good portions but my RaRa lamb, I was told would be spicy but it wasn't, no chilli at all. Service was good but we felt rushed. A really disappointing visit compared to previous ones.

We had a lovely takeaway meal whilst on holiday in the Peaks, food was tasty I had a chicken Dhansak which was really nice. My family enjoyed their choices too, a chicken korma and a chicken bhuna👌

We were visiting the Peak District and felt like an Indian dinner. We were very pleasantly surprised by one of the best Indian dinners my wife and I have ever had. The chicken tikki masala and lamb saag were absolutely delicious! Service was great. This place is definitely a treat.

Wow!! Above and beyond service tonight from The Maazi Team. Not only was their food top notch delish, but we had a flat tire and can’t thank The Gentleman from Rochdale (I’m sorry I didn’t catch your name) enough for taking care of my stranded Daughter and I so kind heartedly. I’m sure our predicament doesn’t happen very often and Maazi Staff were welcoming and just plain WONDERFUL!! We’ve visited mazzi dozens of times, as a couple, with family as a large group and with business associates. We’ve never been served a bad meal, the service is always excellent and the staff are all so friendly. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. If you haven’t been give them a try you won’t be disappointed.

This is one of my go to Indian restaurants if I’m being honest, I’ve been a few times now and every time I’ve been it’s very friendly and the food has been 100% every time. The staff remember us and make us really welcome 10 out of 10 every time.

Visited for the third time and it did not disappoint . We don’t live locally, but always come here when we are staying in hathersage and it just gets better and better. Service was a little slow, had to ask three times to pay the bill. But this wouldn’t put us off returning as the food was fabulous.

First visit after a friend had been enthusing for many months that it was excellent. So after 5 mile walk, pint at the bank, we thought why not. First impressions were good; decor nice and staff welcoming. Also food was very good and all in all a veritable feast 👍 When got home read all the reviews and was really surprised at the negative ones. However. We all know that if you keep going back to a place regularly you get very picky and critical. As such we will be back but not soon 🤔yum yum though

I had a look before we arrived in Hathersage for a walking long weekend, the Mazzi had a Taxi Driver Currie that sounded just the ticket. We arrived a little early but it was no problem, our popadoms and sides were very nice. We had our mains after talking to our waiter who had a good knowledge of the dishes, spices and heat. We were not disappointed as our curries, vegetable sides and breads were of a very high standard. Overall a fantastic evening of food with a great staff would recommend this as a go to resteraunt.

This restaurant is in a great location. The food is fabulous and is cooked and served by a wonderful team -who simply couldn't do enough to make our first visit, one of the most special nights we've had in years! Well done Maazi team, thank you for the most enjoyable evening, we'll see you soon!

We have visited many times over the years and have always been impressed, however our latest visit was very disappointing. Not sure if they have a new chef or what. The service was still good, but the quality of the food/cooking just wasn’t there. Left half of our meals, really disappointed after so many happy visits, we won’t be returning until standards improve.

Very attentive and pleasant staff. Starter was great. Main courses bore little resemblance to the description on the menu with some strange and very processed flavours resembling tomato soup. The the naan and rice were fine. Rather disappointing.

First time visiting and it was a really mediocre meal I’m afraid. Curry had a really weird sheen to it, almost as if someone had put loads of cornflower in it or something. It looked kind of glossy but not in a good way, sort of a bit gelatinous. Hard to explain but it didn’t look nice. Unfortunately it was pretty tasteless too - probably one of the worst curries I’ve ever had. It wasn’t disgusting but it just wasn’t tasty and the appearance was quite off putting. My husband didn’t mind his but I had a taste and in my opinion it was nothing special either. My naan bread was stiff and brittle and the rice looked pretty miserable too. Most of the staff appeared indifferent. They weren’t rude but they didn’t seem particularly interested. In short, I’m surprised at the other reviews and I definitely wouldn’t bother to return. There are much better Indian restaurants near by.

Really lovely little restaurant with outside seating area too. The staff were friendly, professional and attentive..my husband was struggling with the spice so without hesitation they replaced his dish and naan. Food was delicious, good portions and presented with style. We are not locals but will definitely return because of the food and service. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

First time I have eaten here. social distancing was really well adhered to, pre booking not a problem.
