We had another fantastic takeaway last night from Ali Shan Tandoori. The food is so good, we had Chicken Shashlik, Mushroom Rice and Chicken Biryani which comes with a vegetable curry. All really fresh, so tasty and I think it’s the best Indian takeaway around. Very friendly staff too! Thank you 😋😋

If we want a good Indian takeaway we always go here. This time as a walk in but have had delivery before or phone it through and collect. Good variety of dishes and sides and cooked to how I prefer it. Nothing is too much trouble and the food is always hot and tasty

Another brilliant meal from Ali Shan. Piping hot, not oily, amazingly tasty, succulent meat, ready fast, what more could you ask for. Somehow we managed to stop eating despite the desire to tuck into the leftovers but they will do for another great meal tomorrow! Keep it up Ali Shan, you are doing a great job!

This is going to be a mixed review. We ordered on the Ali Shan website. The order came very quickly for a Saturday evening (normally take about an hour) this has been our regular indian for some time now and in the pass it has been very good (hence we ordered tonight ) but when it came (and I have to emphasize ) it was very quick (especially when it would take around 15 minutes to drive from the take away) to our home, plus to cook the order. Well the food we got was cold, all of the items were cold, the onion bargees were rock hard and stale as were the popodoms. When we phoned up to tell them they just said that they would give us a discount on our next order and nothing else (customer service not good) we had to then phone again as I was not happy with their response and said that really the lest they could do was to bring us another lot of food that was hot and not stale, which they did and this time it was hot even though there was some items missing, so not a good £40 spent. Conclusion is we will now look for a better indian take away. Hopefully this review will stay on the review so other potential customers can make their mind up as well. Sad to write this review, as they have been better in the past, maybe they were just having a bad night???

Overcharged plus Chicken Tikka was awful and gristly as it got colder, very odd texture. One of the dishes was wrong and we were told 20 mins to collect and an hour for delivery. When I went to collect after 25 mins, it wasn't ready for another 10 or 15 mins so we may as well waited the extra time for a delivery

Cannot fault Ali shan ever. Best Indian around by far. Ever other restaurant doesn't even come close 👌 food is always on point and service is amazing!! Highly recommend for anyone needing an Indian coated with flavours 💯

Third review for this local takeaway in recent years. They never fail to provide what I ask for and it arrives fast, hot and always with a smile. We have our favourites (Chef Special Mirchiwala chicken tikka and the Biryani also chicken tikka!) which comes with a veggie curry. Throw in a nan of choice and a veggie side and you have stacks for two very hungry people and usually plenty for a second days meal (if you don't go mad of course!). Not too much ghee either, usually we have no need to drain off any excess from the containers. Usual cost ranges from £19-27 depending on extras but great value for feeding two people for two days with tasty grub. Delicious flavours. If you have not tried Ali Shan, I would urge you to give it a try. Good eating.

Rang to say that the wrong curry was sent out. Had the right curry within 20 mins. Customer service was spot on. Can't fault it!!!

We have been ordering from Ali Shan for years, delivery is always on-time and the food is hot. Dishes have always been either excellent or very good. I've finally thought about writing a review after the meal we ordered last night. In the midst of the current lockdown Ali Shan was _extremely_ busy - but their delivery was still on-time, the food still hot - and the quality of the dishes delivered were absolutely superb. They initially omitted the naan bread I'd ordered, but upon a quick phone call, rather than fobbing me off, they immediately sent another driver straight round within a couple of minutes. Absolutely top notch customer service! Edit: Jan 22 - needed a treat for just myself - Ali Shan happy to bend the rules to provide smaller portions of my favourite dishes, delivered early, steaming hot and delicious. Brilliant customer service, thank you yet again Ali Shan

You can’t beat this place! By far the best around

We were making an Indian meal for a visiting good friend but I simply cannot make a sauce as good as Ali Shan's Mirchiwala. Nor can I compete with the chicken tikka that they put in it. So I ordered a couple of portions to add to the rest of meal we prepared and as always, it was hot (in both senses) and truly delicious. We also got a couple of Biryanis (also chicken tikka) and added a (very) large batch of home cooked king prawn to that. The combination made our work so much easier. We have never had a bad experience with Ali Shan. The food is always hot and always delivered in a timely manner. Thank you and keep up the great work guys and gals. Try them, they are great! We don't use a takeaway that often but this is our 'go to' option over several years now. The chicken tikka dishes cost a little more but are well worth the extra 'quid'. Preordering online works well (ie, before they open) and our usual meal arrives about 5.45pm (they open at 5) and it is always piping hot and handed over at the door with a very pleasant smile. For the price, its good value. If you like a really tasty chicken curry with a good 'hit' of heat, try the mirchiwala. Portion sizes usually mean we have enough leftover for the next days meal too although sometimes gluttony prevents that. Enjoy PeterFromSandhurst

Over the years we've tried most of the Indian takeaways in this area, Ali Shan is now our favourite. We always order for delivery, the staff are polite and helpful and the food well cooked, hot and on time. We did have a poor experience a few weeks back but Ali the Manager dealt with the problem efficiently and it has certainly not put us off from ordering from them again.

Have used this takeaway for many years and always enjoyed the service and food but over the past month things have deteriorated. The past two orders were incorrect and this evening the order took ONE HOUR AND FORTY FIVE MINUTES to arrive and was tepid. I feel if the can’t cope with the demand then they should not take so many orders.

We were recommended to try this Indian by a friend around a year ago and we wouldn’t go elsewhere now! The Delux Express for 2 is the perfect meal for us and such great value. The staff are so so friendly and so catering - letting us make a few small changes to the set meal we usually order. The food is always so hot and fresh when delivered! Big shout out to the delivery lady too who is always so polite!

Moved to blackwater a few weeks ago and wanted to order an Indian take away. Using the just eat app I decided to go for the top rated in the area. Always a bit dubious when ordering from somewhere new however the Ali Shan did not disappoint. I had the chicken Roshini, advertised as a medium / hot dish. The dish tasted amazing, I honestly can’t remember the last time I enjoyed an indian take away as much as I enjoyed this. I would have give it 5 stars if the dish was medium to hot as advertised. Unfortunately there seemed to be very little spice in this dish. Overall stunning plate of food, I will definitely order again and just ask for it to be hotter.

We made an online order from our favourite Indian. Placed the order at roughly 6:15pm ( Friday 8th May ) this evening and saw that the delivery time was 7pm. That was fine given the situation at the moment. However at 6:40 my door bell rang and our food had arrived piping hot. Amazing. The food was of course most delicious. Brilliant service. Had my first experience of this restaurant as a takeaway recently and it was all as ordered, all piping hot and all very delicious. Good value for money and not too long to wait. Will definitely be trying again in the future.

I am new to Indian food and the man who took my order was so helpful, when the food arrived ( within the time scale given) it was fresh, hot and tasty, he had even marked the menu for me so i would know others dishes to try. Thank you we really enjoyed it and will be back.

Stunning!!! Had lamb biryanis last night - sensational together with haandi chicken, Peshawari naan and mixed starters. Hot, tasty, fresh , not greasy . We will be back!!

1 star for being on time,infact order was at door step 20 mins before expected time but that was the only good thing about it.The food was aweful, Tandoori mixed grill was a mix of under cooked and nasty smelling appetizer killer,the curry was the worst i had in my life.A bite each was all for me and my partner, ended up throwing away all the food and ordering Mr Cod.

Each year, my family and friends selectively choose a takeaway for our Boxing Day meal, a key consideration of this venture is whether or not the chosen restaurant is open. Well this is a story of missed opportunity. A missed curry, a missed good trip adviser review and missed money. Despite the website stating they were ready and willing to serve, they were in fact closed. I was able to order the entire takeaway online, but lo and behold, an hour later the takeaway was yet to be delivered. In my haste for a hungover curry, I called the restaurant in the hopes that it was well on the way, to only be told that they were not open. Would have loved to experience the food for myself. But unfortunately the enigma of whether or not they are open may act as a deterrent.

This is an excellent take away. Quality maintained for over 6 years we remember. The rice is basmati and not some cheap alternative. Try the lamb and spinach (Saag Ghosth). A courteous and polite owner even when busy.

After being let down several times by a competitor in Sandhurst i was seeking a new take away. Aftwr hearing good things i opted for Ali Shan, i have ordered 3 times now and each time has been amazing. Super tasty food, piping hot and delivered before the quoted times. Highly recommended.

The size of the onion salad is really poor, tiny, tiny little containers for 60p, phoned to complain and was told it was because Just Eat only allowed them to serve that size. Have used this takeaway for 12 years, will not use them again. Most disappointed. Customer service was not good!

Lovely food and arrived early but salad/mint sauce missing for Chicken Tikka. However, phoned up and they brought it within 20 minutes.No free poppadoms which is surprising as all other local takeaways include a couple with the order - need to be up with the competition!

It was a very simple curry... I would only say it was passable, but not what I would regard as authentic. Personally I would not order it again.

Over the last year we have used this restaurant most weekends for our traditional Indian takeaway, but beware as standards are slipping and constructive feedback is not welcome by the management. We had issues on our last two orders with too much ghee (clarified butter) in the sauce and really tough, inedible lamb. I've attached a photo of the inedible meat after removal of the sauce. When we brought this to the attention of the owner he was defensive and reluctant to accept that his food was below standard. It felt like a battle to get our point over which added insult to injury. They have lost us as a loyal customer when a listening approach and a simple apology would have resolved the issue.

Food came early, hot and tasty. Best cooked prawns we’ve had from a takeaway curry, if a little greasy. Annoying you can only order a single poppadum on their menu, and they only deliver one too.

We ordered a takeaway from Ali Shan at 19.30 from Just eat paid via card, they accepted the order and we were told it would be just under an hour delivery. At 22.15 we were still waiting for our food, I called the restaurant to then be told they don’t have my order although they had managed to take my money! They were rude, no apology and said we will get out food to us within 15 minutes. Didn’t even as me what I ordered. The food came and then our Nann breads were missing, I called them up to be told We never ordered a nann bread. I advised we did and he said you defiantly didn’t But he will drive back round. When he got round he showed me the handwritten order without no nanns, I showed him my confirmation order and he walked off. We are very regular customers and order once if not twice a week from them. Everyone’s human and makes mistakes now and can but admit to them and apologise but to carry on in denial and rude is defiantly not how you treat customers. We won’t be ordering from them again!!

Diabolical service, two phone call complaints and was told there was nothing they could do despite food being 15 and then 25 minutes late. In addition, having spoken to the restaurant and told them I would not pay a penny, they then turned up at my house and would not give me the food. Absolutely disgusted.

Just lost a loyal customer. Was told on the phone that they are very busy and delivery would take up to 2.5 hours and that collection would be preferred. When I indicated that we didn't mind waiting for delivery the operator grew impatient, replied "is that it?" to my £30 order then claimed he didn't deliver to my area (despite many previous deliveries) and then hung up on me. Such a shame. We have ordered with them dozens of times previously and recommended to friends. Their food really is excellent, so good in fact that we didn't mind waiting hours for a delivery. That said, there is no excuse for rudeness and false claims, no matter how busy you are. We have since placed an order with Spice Jar, who were far more professional and accommodating.

I have lived in Blackwater now for nearly 20 years and was sceptical about using this takeaway, however when my usual Indian (Tiffin Wala) continually failed to deliver consistent meals I decided to try Ali Shan. I am so glad I did. The food is superb. The quality and flavour has been consistently good over the last five orders I have placed with them. The meat is succulent and actually tastes as if it has been cooked in the sauce rather than being pre-cooked and dropped into a bowl of sauce at the last minute like most other takeaways. Starters are full of flavour and good sized portions. Will definitely keep using Ali Shan from now on.

Why will we never go to Alishan again? We have used this takeaway for many years, and found it to be good. However, three weeks ago, 9 September 2017, I telephoned at 1835h; ordered and paid over the 'phone, and agreed a delivery time of 1945h. The food did not arrive until 2010h, with no excuse offered, and it was not good - onion bhajis hard as a rock, chicken tough, other items not good, and one of the container lids had not been fixed properly, so that the sauce was all over the bottom of the carrier bag, and the other containers. We were very disappointed. The next day, I wrote a polite letter to the owners, by name, pointing out our loyalty, and explaining why we were disappointed; and that I hoped my comments would help them to avoid a recurrence. I hand-delivered the letter, marking it Private and Confidential. There was no response - whether by telephone, email, text, all details being provided in the letter. So, last weekend, I wrote again, enclose a copy of the first letter, hand-delivered once more, addressing the envelope to the Business Owner, and asked for a reply. Once again, my solicitation was ignored. Hence the reason why Alishan have lost us as a customer. - so, be wary before you use them. There are so many competitors in this area (GU46), and we get leaflets through the letterbox advertising their services. In particular, you can bet that new start-ups will be extra good, seeking to establish a positive reputation and build a customer base. Alishan, by their cavalier attitude, have dismissed us - and we shall not return. They do not need us , and we do not need them. Do they need you, I ask? Brian UPDATE ON ABOVE REVIEW I subsequently had a call from the owner, apologising for the lapse of standards, and our resultant disappointment; and he said that, if we wished to use them again, it would be complimentary - on the house. We took advantage of this offer yesterday evening (10 November), and I telephoned them late the previous evening to confirm. Last night, the food was on time, and the quality was superb. It really could not be faulted, and we are glad that the response was so positive. We shall therefore continue our patronage of Alishan Tandoori - provided that standards do not again slip. Brian

Another meal from here, couldn't fault it, had a set meal for one and another curry , food is so good never lets you down even better when you get a discount for collecting

Lovely takeaway food. Reasonably priced and very friendly staff. We were told on the phone rather than order through just eat/hungry house if we called the restaurant direct he would have given us a better deal, maybe free items etc
