Odiham Spice in Hart

Tried Odiham Tandoori within the first few weeks of the opening. The food was a lot better than the previous owners some of the order was poor quality. The system for takeout people collecting food is awful as they queue along the isle where people are eating. Second takeout was still just ok ! I had the madras I have this dish from other restaurants but Odiham’s is just a dish of heat no flavour. I will stick with Hook Tandoori much better.

Wow ... first visit here and certainly not the last! Fantastic new courses to try and they didn't disappoint. Staff friendly and helpful. Overall a top restaurant. See you soon 😊

AVERAGE: Location is good right on Odiham High Street. Front of restaurant very small - x2 tables - with a pretty table in window for x4. Quite cold & draughty, might be better in the back which is bigger. Menu quite extensive - food was good - but several of the dishes looked and tasted the same. Very slow service despite it being mid-week and quiet. “Flat” drinks (diet coke) had also run out of gin - despite a supermarket 100yds away and open!

Pretty hard to find in the highstreet of Odiham! But once you found it you will come back. Lovely food, friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

My son took me for a belated Mother's Day dinner. It was absolutely delicious food. Everything was so fresh and well presented, and fabulous flavours. The staff were all very attentive and friendly. We had a great evening thank you.

I was curious to visit given that the restaurant is under new management. Whilst the food was excellent with generous portions and a well detailed allergen menu, the service was very poor with surly rude staff and an extremely arrogant manager. They seem to prioritise take away orders over diners sat in the restaurant meaning that a 7.15pm reservation saw our main courses arriving at 9.30pm. We kept asking if we might place our order sooner but were told that we had to wait which was very frustrating as clearly they were attempting to buy time to clear a backlog of take aways yet we sat there wondering when we would become their priority. We did not wish to finish what we ordered as it was far too late to eat and rather requested to take the majority of the dishes home. Bizarrely, they threw both meals with accompanying rice into one container which we found rather odd given that they were two different curries. Whilst they were kind enough to cook replacement dishes, we were fed up and desperately wanted to get home. Clearly they do not have capacity to run a restaurant and take away business and until this changes I would not consider returning as there is more efficient and far friendlier service available at Hook Tandoori.

About time Odiham had a decent restaurant! Amazing food, served hot and quite clearly fresh! Lovely wine .... what more can you ask for except great service which they also delivered on!

Very presentable food, but in all honestly, if you’re a spice lover, it doesn’t tick the box. Flavours were plain in the curries without any real kick and some of the food like the Sag Aloo tasted re-heated. It was nevertheless, a pleasant meal with nice Kingfisher bottled beer and the Poppadoms were outstanding. UPDATE 2025 Under new ownership and miles and miles better 👏

Had a takeaway Saturday evening, absolutely fantastic, wasn't sure what to expect with the takeover but I was not disappointed.

Had an absolutely amazing meal from Odiham Tandoori yesterday. It’s been taken over by new management and had a bit of a redecoration in there. The food was out of this world, not just your generic Indian food. This was cooked with passion and had so many flavours going on in one single dish. The manager and staff were very friendly and their menu reasonably priced! Will be booking a lads night there next weekend, hopefully. It’s great to have an Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine back in Odiham once again… Highly recommend !

New to Odiham is Odiham Tandoori used to be Odiham spice but now under new management. The food was excellent along with a new menu and decor. Odiham people will take time to get in the feel of the venue, but I am delighted to welcome Odiham Tandoori to the high street. The food was superb, give it a go you will not be disappointed.

Diabolical food compared to Hook Tandoori. Chicken didn’t seem like chicken and both dishes flavourless. The restaurant doesn’t even smell of curry when you walk in. Very run down. Won’t be going back.

All the way from Nottingham got the best curry dishes we’ve ever tried! Absolutely stunning food that never disappoints.

We decided to give this restaurant a go after being disappointed with our usual place. The takeaway was superb. Not overly oily, sensible portions and the best bhajis ever.

I thought the food was very average. Went as part of a larger party. We were overcharged for the food and only when we argued the toss were we given it back. Probably wouldn't go back.

Such a lovely little spot for good Indian cuisine. Very friendly team, fast service and a very tasty meal. Portions are reasonable, so you can try a couple of dishes in one sitting.

Went here last night and the food was amazing and probably the best onion bahjis I’ve ever eaten. Restaurant is a bit tired and could do with a tart up but staff were very good.

Eaten here twice now, both really disappointing. Went cold so quickly Chicken was not great. Both times the nann bread was burnt !!

Takeaway tonight but many times eat in. Food hot, made to order, timely and was delicious. Service by manager was faultless. Chef came to say hello and handover food. Would recommend this restaurant instead other local restaurants.

Had a wonderful New Year’s Eve meal here with my partner. New to the area and happy to have this as our local! We had the Chicken Tikka Masala and Goan Chicken absolutely delicious with great sauce and quite clean too! The Onion Bahjees were incredible - two in one portion but huge and crispy. Great Aloo Gobi, Poppadoms and Peshwari Naans too! Simple set up inside but you feel so welcome by the team there, they’re very friendly and brilliant to reserve a table with. Thanks for a great meal! We will see you often!

Had a set dinner for a group of us. Food was very good in terms of quality and quantity. Cobra beers. Fast service, made us feel welcome.

Sadly not the best Indian I have had, thought it was quite bland and lacking in spice and flavour. Sad as we are local but don't think we'd be back. Also thought it was quite expensive, 2 starters, 2 currys, 2 rice (1of which was included with curry), poppadoms, naan and 2 small Cobras and it was just over £70

Not too sure why or how Odiham Spice has such good reviews when it was one of the most average curries I have had. Having dined at most Indian restaurants around the area, this one rates low. There is no ambiance, the food is average. The staff aren’t very attentative and it wasn’t that enjoyable.

We met our son and partner for a meal and all enjoyed the food. I was disappointed the only fish dishes were seafood but enjoyed my lamb curry. The service was efficient but I feel the room could do with redecorating and the noisy kitchen door oiled.

Came across this place by chance when visiting the area and looking for somewhere to eat, and it didn't disappoint! Despite being a busy Fri eve, they managed to accommodate us with a table and we certainly didn't feel rushed. Great veggie options with lots of flavour. Extremely friendly service. Good value for money. Would definitely return!

The food was good, however if you go in a large group and are paying separately, make sure you check the prices yourself. I only checked when I got home and realised they had substantially overcharged most people in our group.

Really good food and service. The request for an off the menu starter was no problem for their staff. A busy place, With lots of take away orders. Our group of five who try to get together every 6-8 weeks and visit curry houses, were impressed. It is on our return to list in the future.

Nice simple no-frills Indian restaurant, they accommodated a group of us at very short notice and late in the evening. The menu was suspiciously large but the food turned out to be excellent. We were put under some pressure to order quickly before the chef went home, but this was understandable.

Food looked alright, but sauce was Watery so didn't taste amazing compared to other restaurants. Which is a shame 🙁

The Odiham Spice is my favourite Indian Restaurant. I visited on Saturday evening and was greeted by the friendly staff. I ordered my favourite meal, which was Chicken Dhansak with rice... it was delicious as always!

I visited the Odiham Spice in May with a friend for a curry. It was ok, but being a curry lover, I would not rave about it - or complain about it. If you like curry, you may like it, but being a curry lover I prefer more traditional authentic curry - so probably would not return.

After being treated so rudely by our local, Hook Tandoori, we decided it was time to find a new Indian takeaway, so tried Odiham Spice...and so glad we did! £16 cheaper then the overpriced Hook Tandoori with polite staff, unlike Hook Tandoori and the most important, delicious food! From now on we will get all our takeaway's from Odiham Spice, as worth the drive from Hook.

Starter was very nice. Main course curry’s we’re nicely flavoured. Lamb was hit and miss with some tough and some tender pieces. Chicken appeared to taste pre-cooked rather than cooked with the curry. Biggest disappointment was the rice which tasted like it was reheated from the day before. Both the pilau and plain boiled seemed to taste not fresh. Also, soft drinks very overpriced. £3.50 for a glass of coke poured from a plastic bottle, and flat.

We ordered Vegetarian food and its freshly prepared. Service is fast, and good staff.

Islam made us feel welcome and was prompt to take our order. The staff are always very welcoming and it feels like you're dining in their home. The food is fantastic, definitely try one of their specialties. I went for lamb passanda and it was delicious. The decor is a little tired and toilets are basic, but that's easily forgiven for the quality of the food and service. A firm favourite with my friends and colleagues, we will be back again soon!

Food was bland, absolutely no flavour whatsoever to the dishes we had. if you are a fan of your usual creamy chicken korma then please do not order it from here as it is definitely not as you'd expect. I would also like to point out that the customer service we received was terrible from the moment we didn't order no alcoholic drinks. Would rather travel 10 minutes down the road to Monsoon.

I have been here several times but this time felt a bit disappointed. My friend said she was greeted rather abruptly when she arrived even though we had booked a table. Our table was near the window and the bright lights showed up the faded seating which looked like it could do with a clean. The food was good and the waiter friendly but almost too solicitous. As the restaurant wasn't busy he kept coming to our table and standing there interrupting our conversation to ask us questions and engage in small talk which felt a bit unnerving after the fifth or sixth time. There was a limited choice of dessert and all in all we were quite relieved to pay the bill and leave.

Lovely fresh tasty Indian food. A must to visit if you wnat a good Indian meal in this area. Lovely fresh Orka dish that complimented my main meal to. Great place to stumble on.

We had an excellent meal and the service was great. We had the window seat, quick service and the medium spice chicken tikka masala was the best! This place is a must visit while you are in beautiful Odiham 😍

This lovely little Indian could be easily missed - it really is little. However the flavours are big and we had a delicious meal.

Now this is a difficult review to write. As I booked my table in advance. For 9pm in evening. I turned up and they didn't have any record of my booking. But said they could at I'll fit me in but we had to be out by 10 as that's when they closed. Where as the website says they close at 11.30 on a friday night. So this made the whole experience feel rushed and ruined it for me. But the food was great. Nice and fresh and the Naan breads were by far the best I've ever had. So light and tasty. Once we had finished and were leaving the waiter informed me that I had been booked in just on a different night. Its difficult to enjoy a meal when you are being rushed.

The food was superb. The service was friendly and attentive but without being overbearing. The setting was lovely. As well as the classics there are some welcome oddities on the menu and the chef's take on bindi bhaji was very different from normal, even tempting an okra sceptic into eating some.

I have come to Odiham spice many times since I moved here a few years ago and they never disappoint. Went in May and the food was lovely, service was very good and very reasonable priced. Only criticism is there was no decaf coffee but...

It was the first time we visited this restaurant. It will not be the last. it was difficult to choose from the huge range of dishes on the menu. we were not disappointed with our choices. it was freshly cooked food, beautifully spiced and well presented. Definitely a lace to revisit.

Arrived just before 8pm and the restaurant was full. Always a good sign.Food was excellent and arrived at a good speed.Service was good, except one guy serving couldn’t seem to speak or understand English. He seemed to be Eastern European. This made things at times tricky!However, would definitely return and highly recommend.

We popped in for dinner yesterday night whilst staying nearby in Hook. It was Monday night so fairly quiet but a relaxed atmosphere and pleasant decor.

Have been here a few times, and always consistently good. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Prices are very reasonable for the area. Portions are just right, and are tasty. Can't ask for more. Only thing is that the restaurant is small, so book ahead if you can.
