The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

Arrived in London today. I came across this restaurant quite unexpectedly. I wanted to try everything and ordered too much to eat. I will definitely go back and highly recommend it. The owner/ waiter (?) was very patient since I took some time to understand how it works....and couldn't cos too greedy. He took the order and explained the dishes at the same time. 😋

Well, not only scrumptious Indian food, but an absolutely gorgeous Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings today too!! The place was absolutely heaving, and the staff were amazing. Good job Appayon. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!

Over 20 of us had a Diwali meal a few days ago at the Banyan tree. Food was spicey and delicious. Service great. I'll be going again!

Couldn’t fault the place, the staff were pleasant and attentive and the food was lovely! I wasn’t sure what to expect as from the outside it didn’t look anything special, but I suppose that’s a reminder not to judge a book by its cover! I’m not local to the area but I’d definitely say it’s worth a drive out to return again.

I’m a very picky eater so I always get chicken and chips but always better then kfc

Excellent food and delivery. I would particularly recommend paneer tikka masala, bhajis and garlic naans.

Couldn't out my finger on what was missing. But was all a bit average.

NEVER fails to satisfy! Delicious food and attentive service. If a specific dish is not on the menu (which is pretty extensive to begin with) they will be sure to accommodate in the kitchen. Decent sized portions and full of fantastic flavours with plenty of veggie options. It has been a regular haunt of family and friends for what seems like forever. Highly recommended.

Take away service was always good however tonight ordered a delivery still waiting over 2 30 hours later, Called 3 times and palmed off wifh excuses..Not good enough

I ordered food as a delivery for a family dinner. Didn't receive what I ordered. Called to ask for a replacement only to receive the same again.... The wrong thing. Called a second time and spoke to a very rude, abrupt man who tried to say I was not clear with what I wanted, which of course I was when I rang. I clarified what I wanted and they agreed to replace it only to sent the same thing. After a lot of 'debating' about the situation with him I requested a refund to be told I would have to drive to the restaurant to collect it - if I was going to do this then we would have eaten in. I asked once again for the dish I had originally ordered to be told this was the last time they were replacing it..... None of which would have been needed if they got it correct in the first time. I agreed to which the man abruptly hangs the phone up on me. No goodbye or apology for the inconvenience!!!! My family had all eaten their dinner and my bread was cold and rock hard by the time I got my curry. NEVER ORDERING FROM HERE AGAIN

Always the best food whether eating in or taking out! Great service, helpful friendly staff and lovely atmosphere.

Great meat veggie and vegan options

Had a really good meal. The poppadoms and pickles were great. Loved the onion bhaji and the shish kebabs. The keema naan was perfect. The main courses were adjusted to our liking. Service was great and all very reasonably priced. We will be returning.

As good now as it was 30 years ago. Though it could do with having a zero alcohol beer or lager available.
