Delivery fine, a few minutes late but no problem. The food was worth waiting for, couldn't fault it at all.

First time ordering. Order arrived before expected, and it was all hot and well labelled to be able to see what was what. I had the chicken rahmi and it was absolutely delicious. Would definitely order again.

Food was pretty good, although all seemed to taste the same even though very different dishes were ordered. More pepper than chicken in the chicken chat puri though! No one else there when we arrived but it did take a while to be served.

Waited 1hr 20mins after delivery time, curry came cold, chip ropey, total waste of time and money, never again. Be warned, shambles

Driver arrived and dropped curries all over the floor so left us with a few rice dishes and some starters and went to re get the curries! You think they would have redone the whole order as we then had cold rice and naan with hot curries that arrived half and hour later!! Terrible service not even an apology

Had a take away (collection) from here tonight. Service quick and efficient and food hot and plentiful and good value for the price. Asked to not hold on spice and the Jalfrezi was, the madras less so. Sag bajee was a little salty and garlic naan could have endured more garlic. Would we go back, yes; but middle of the road.

As we were staying at a caravan site nearby we decided to look for an Indian restaurant. Although it had a appealing looking restaurant we decided to order a take away. We ordered meals we usually have back home and can honestly say it was even better than our usual Indian. Throughly recommend Spice Cottage.

We had a takeaway, so cannot comment on restaurant itself, but takeaway food was delicious, good value and was of excellent quality. We had the Set menu for two which I would not hesitate to recommend and was enough for three people.

I order delivery from these guys as im local. Last night it was a little late arriving but I can't fault the food .. a quick blast in the microwave and bam ! The onion bahji was the best yet .. wished I'd ordered more !! .. thanks guys ..

The chicken madras was the best I've had..

Being a local this is my normal go to for Indian, however this evening stale chips stale poppadom and to top it off I was sent out rotten meat samosa absolutely stink of rotten meat without even breaking them open never again 🤢

Food was incredible…been numerous times and never had anything other than great food. We had two dairy free currys that we’ve not had before…special fried rice and chapati. Both curry’s had loads of flavour and where nicely hot…no casseroles here, proper tasting curry only! Highly recommend….defo the best curry house in the area. Quiet but nice authentic music and no hassling in terms service…evening flows at a nice pace.

Deserve a BIG ZERO rating! Pathetic one!! If you are looking for an INDIAN restaurant or INDIAN, then I highly recommend not to visit this particular restaurant! NOT AN INDIAN RESTURANT... Worst behavior from the customer service!! Very arrogant behavior!

Had been to this restaurant today. The response from the staff who was sitting in the reception was worst. There was no smile or welcome gesture from him when we have entered. We have started to order some food from the menu, the same person said to us we need to order at least one main course and a starter per person. He was not letting us to choose what we need. He was having a angry face throughout the conversation. By looking at his rude behaviour we asked him are you ok to serve food for us. He has asked us have you been to any restaurants before? Finally we had to walk out from restaurant because of his worst behaviour towards customers. This is the worst experience I ever had in UK Bangladesh restaurant.

This is not an Indian restaurant, staff treats customers awfully. Expect everyone to order minimum 3 course, if you don't expect a very rude behavior and be ready to answer a question 'Have you been to a restaurant before?'

3 times I have ordered from here and every time they say 45 minute delivery and it takes nearly 2 hours to come won’t be using again

Food was bad. Rushed cooking. The Base sauce had no depth, not a patch on the Coventry and Leicester Indian restaurants I'm used to. It was cheap, but I couldn't finish it. Also I ordered lamb and they brought chicken. Naan had garlic granuals sprinled on it, not fresh. Advice write order down, cook the onions and garlic down in ghee until v.dark, add spices, add base gravy. Simple. I can tell this was rushed, not resturant quality.

Service was quite poor- our waiter seemed quite stroppy even though they were old enough not to be. I had to source napkins from another table. Thankfully not us but I have never seen ‘doggy bag’ boxes given to a customer for them to dish up! They were unceremoniously put on their table. Taking into account (still rather frosty) interactions made it clear they were regulars this almost made it all the more shocking. The joke was them then adding a tip onto the bill. Won’t return when we’re in the area. Food was okay; nothing special.

I've had multiple takeaways from Spice Cottage now and its been great every time. They even gave me some free dishes the last time I ordered. Delicious, fast and not over-priced.

We as family on our visit to Cheddar were excited to find an Indian restaurant. But our family was disappointed by the cold and arrogant treatment by the waiter yesterday. He charged (more likely demanded ) us £45 (35 for food and 10 service) without any bill. He refused to give bill the when asked for. Definitely not recommended

Really good food, and the delivery is a bonus! Usually right on time and sometimes early but I have had a couple of orders that have taken over an hour to arrive.

Went with my team from work. We were early so only ones there, however we had a great time. Excellent food, very good value for money and brilliant service. 7 clean plates sums it up

Amazing food for a fair price, we had such a tasty dinner! The service was ok at best, it all felt a bit rushed and distant.

Deliver quoted as 45mins initially then cha ged to an hour at checkout. Didnt to arrive for 1:45. Lamb was grisly and chewy. Mixed tandori starter dry and tasted only of onion. Curry was nicely hot but had no other flavour and was full of massive slices of garlic which was quite unpleasant. Rice was nice though. Reminded more like Indian fast food than something restaurant quality. Would not use again.

Well ,ordered food at 7.09 pm waited an hour for food after on line system didn’t work , no apology but did offer a free beer which is a bit of an insult when I don’t drink ! . Other people waiting over an hour as well , they were visitors to cheddar so not impressed . When I got food home Nan bread burnt and onion Bahji not edible . The worse food I’ve had in a while , as a local (50 year) won’t be using this place again had a 1star because to give 0 not an option ! Update at 9 .48 pm . just received the order AGAIN delivered to the door this time , receipt saying ordered received at 7.52 pm so again almost 2 hours ! Lol dear oh dear spice cottage made a total mess up of this order! Won’t be eating any of this one .

The food was wonderful which is definitely the main thing, but delivery was three quarters of an hour late, with no apologies from the staff at the restaurant or driver. Also every other takeaway I have had came with a free poppadom, a small mango chutney/raita dip and a side salad garnish, nothing with this one at all, shame. The lateness has put me off ordering again.

This is a good Indian restaurant. The food here is great, in fact I would go so far as to say the best in the area. Prices are reasonable too, not over priced for size and quality of the meals. Bolti lamb sagwala was superb. Also the chicken bolti was very good too. If you haven't been here you must give it a try I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Recently moved to the area, thought we would try the local Indian. All 6 of us were left with food poisoning. Avoid at all costs

We ordered food at 7:18pm online, the accepted delivery time was 8:40. Did not turn up, so gave it 40 minutes just incase it was busy and called them and they just didn't really care too much, just moaned it was really busy. I ask why nobody called to explain that the food would be late. They just exclaimed we were busy. To make things worse the food was below average compared to some in cheddar. If you want a good Indian go to Chillies Banwell......

Spice Cottage has a good reputation on various forums which was why we tried it. Ordered over the phone and told to pick it up an hour later. When I arrived the food was not ready and I sat for another 50 minutes before it appeared. The owner was apologetic but it set a bad first impression. Sadly the food was not worth the wait either, at best average and some parts below par. Disappointing, we are going to try again as this might just have been a bad night.

Ordered for takeaway to Home Farm (Air BnB) in Clewer. Arrived swiftly, food was piping hot, very tasty and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend if you want a good Indian meal in and around Cheddar.

Surprised by the good reviews! We were staying near Cheddar and decided to have a take away on the last night. Online ordering was easy, this was by far the best part of the meal. We collected the order and travelled the 5 miles back to where we were staying, only to find that 2 of the 5 meals we ordered were incomplete. We called them straight away, there was no apology for the inconvenience, just a matter of fact "we will deliver it to you", it arrived an hour after we collected the meal, cold and looked like it had been thrown about. The food itself was swimming in grease and tasteless. This is not a good representation of Indian food, I can only guess the "award winning dishes" were won some years ago. I also saw whilst waiting in store that they had a certificate displayed for outstanding customer service from 2008, It's definitely gone downhill since then. Go somewhere else if you want a decent take away.

Had a takeaway from here. It was over an hour later than their agreed website time and was cold when arrived. I have ordered from here about 5 times now and this is the 2nd time it’s been over an hour late and cold. Will not be ordering from them again.

Good curry. Had the mixed starter, which was excellent. Both main courses were very nice. Naan bread was lovely. Beer reasonably priced. Overall, a good meal. Recommended

Had a takeaway from here whilst stopping over and it was superb - large tasty portions - my Chicken Tikka Garlic Chicken and wife's Chicken Tikka Balti were possibly the best we have tasted for a long time

Very oily, excessively coloured, tasteless food.i am really shocked with the positive reviews. We ordered based on these reviews ,tikka masala..,paneer kadai etc.naan was so rubbery.Dont Recommend!!!!!

We found stones in our dish. When I called up to complain they were so rude and tried to tell me it was a spice... we received a refund on the dish but my husband now requires dental work. We spent over £100 and will never return. Would recommend other local Indian restaurants.

The food at one time was incredible, but its really lacking now- The Phal had very little spice to it, the Peshawari Nam had been well 9ber cooked, the Korma was so thin and almost tasteless. It was disappointing bevauee when we attended for a meal we were very happy with the food from the restaurant, but the take away is awful.
