I visited Kiplings for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The food was amazing and the service was great. Highly recommend!

The staff were welcoming and polite; the service was very good and likewise the food. There is plenty of choice and not over-priced. I have no complaints at all.

Staying in the area and decided to visit Sowerby Bridge. Several choices for Indian cuisine, and picked Kiplings. Good decision. Really friendly welcome and given tutorial on the poppadom accompaniments. Delicious food and great experience. Thumbs up

got to say from telephone order to delivery was absolutely perfect.. they remember my last order and was given a 90 minutes slot for delivery..on time and beautiful food.everything was spot on again.... . highly recommend Kipling for service and friendliness.. zac you are an asset to them and always polite and friendly.. thank you to the whole team.. btw the extra yoghurt sauce didn't go unnoticed lol..thank you.. hubby and I will be calling again very soon..

We came as a family for my late husband and myself anniversary when I got my chicken biryani the chicken was too chewy and the sauce was very hot I requested mild and my granddaughter had creamy chicken masala and couldn't eat it because it wasn't creamy and it tasted bitter I was really looking forward to my meal and was very disappointed

This place has been my favourite restaurant in West Yorkshire for 15 years. It's better than all other Indian restaurants for both flavour and quality...always served with a friendly smile. They easily accomadate amendments if you want a particular dish with a little more spice and would really recommend the advice they provide on the pickle tray. We live about 12 miles away, but would always choose Kiplings over more local restaurants.

What a superb meal we had...really enjoyed the whole visit to Kiplings. Lovely staff, knowledgeable and good fun 😁. The restaurant was full and I can understand why...perfect. thankyou

Absolutely wonderful food, staff and experience. We visited for my partners birthday on 19.02.24 and we were not disappointed. Max was extremely attentive, friendly and made our evening really enjoyable. The food was unbelievably tasty and fresh and the customer service was unreal. Would highly recommended and will definitely be back again soon. 😀

Quality service and food at Kiplings on a cold January evening. The main meal of grilled fish and Jingha King Prawns are simply amazing and so tasty. The team knows how to deliver great service and food.

Went to kiplings with family was greeting with a smile I was taken to our table. It was taken by charming gentlemen, who explained how to eat poppadoms and pickles, which was an experience restaurant was very busy but staff were excellent, cannot fault food and service highly recommend

It's not unusual for UK Indian restaurants to make their main course sauces in advance and then add the meats that the customers order to serve Unfortunately Kiplings made the sauces and peshwari naan bread well in advance of tonight and served them all up barely tepid, and in my poor wife's case on top of undercooked king prawns. A quick reheat didn't really improve the food so we paid and left. Coupled with the lacklustre meet and greet, 35 min wait for a pre booked table and no ice and lemon in the G&T's it was a poor dining experience The food that could not be prepped in advance (chicken liver starter and mixed kebab starter) were nice. 2 x 2 courses one naan and 4 drinks £75

Excellent restaurant. I have been coming here for many years, for approx 5-6 years. The food is always great, and the service is exceptional. This time around I found everything from entering the building no booking, as I am a regular here they saw looked after me and. After 10 mins we got me a table. The started a mixed sizzler for 2x was exceptional, then the main a Chicken & Keema Karachi curry, again this was exceptional. I can't thank Rav enough for all his Excellent Customer Service, this is what separate this restaurant from the ordinary to extra ordinary. They are always busy. And all the recent national curry awards and reviews they get are well deserved.

What I love about Kiplings is a character that you don’t seem to get anywhere else. It feels like it’s a real team effort. How they have not had more awards is beyond me. All the curries here are better than their brashier show off competitors. The food is great and everyone here is a gem.

We visited early teatime on a Saturday in November to celebrate family birthdays and had a delicious meal. Nothing was too much for the attentive staff who were really helpful with our menu queries. The early bird which is available every day until 7pm is incredible value so this restaurant is a must visit!

Love this restaurant, the food is delicious, the staff are super friendly, and the place is spotless. They make your curry just how you like it. This is the best curry restaurant in the area, in my opinion.

If you ever thought a pickle tray with poppadoms was just that…think again. Better still, come here and watch the fabulous Raf as he teaches you how it can be so much more. Then eat his remarkable food and enjoy the friendly, unhurried service, especially from the equally fabulous Paulina. This is a place to savour along with its authentic food from which the spices sing. Go soon because you’ll want to keep coming back.

I'd heard about it, never tried it so made the trip. Meeting the owner was fantastic as he explained the best way to use the pickle tray. It's all about the layers apparently. The food looked fresh and was stunning. A real treat and well worth a drive.

Had the lamb chops and keema desi matter with garlic and coriander naan all served by friendly staff where nothing is too much trouble, food excellent and great atmosphere.

What a wonderful experience, friendly welcome, informative staff and the food was exceptional and very reasonably priced! I would recommend Kipling's in a heartbeat, they made our whole dinning experience one to remember for all the right reasons. We go to this curry house all the time as we find it to be so friendly, quick at serving, delicious food and a reasonable price, specially with the early bird offer! You can sit in and actually talk to each other with having to raise your voices because of near by tables ect. Max is a really nice friendly guy who is really helpful and the food is just amazing, it's that nice I actually ordered a 2nd curry to take away with me for tomorrow's dinner.You will NOT be disappointed!Shane

Came here with my family this evening, we were aware of the recent reviews but I honestly cannot understand where those people are eating because it is definitely not where we dined because WOW the food was delicious, the service was perfect, not too in your face but still there whenever you need anything. They couldn’t be more helpful. We had a few questions about the Early Bird menu, we asked the young man and it was clear he was new so he did the sensible thing and asked his colleague to help with our queries. The woman was more than helpful and very clear, my son who lives on nuggets chose to try the kids masala and he loved it, definitely an eye opener for him. Would like to thank all the staff from Max who welcomed us to Paulina, Alex and Kat who looked after us throughout our visit. Already booked our next meal. Cant wait to go back!!

Started going again a few months ago after reading some good reviews.Must say food, staff and drink are all excellent. Just what is needed in these in these unpredictable times. My friend and I ordered a couple of meals to be delivered last night through the Uber Eats app. Even though it took nearly two hours to arrive, the food was lovely. We had chosen to pay cash on delivery and the driver charged us the full price without the Uber discount. I thought I had made a mistake until I checked the receipt today. The transaction was showing as a 'pending, hold' and detailed that the amount would be void very soon and not charged to my credit card. I phoned the restaurant today and spoke to Max to query the amount and was told he would look into this and call me back. He did so, very promptly, to advise me that the driver had stated that he did not take any cash from us and that he didn't believe me because the driver is one of the manager's at the restaurant.Lovely food but some kind of scam going on, please be aware of this when paying cash.

The food was absolutely delicious. So good I had to take the rest home that I didn’t finish, portion sizes are perfect. The service was brilliant. All staff where super friendly, made sure we had everything we needed and if we needed something they were there pronto. I absolutely would recommend and I will be going again. I would like to shout out the two servers we had at our table. Raf and Cat, thank you. 5*

We have been recommended Kiplings by friends plenty of times but never got the chance to go. On this wet Sunday, we ordered a takeout from here! I must say it was easily the best curry I’ve ever had. The flavour and texture of the chicken was second to none!!! I’m surprised others are saying they are waiting so long, as we had our food delivered within the hour and it was piping hot! The only downside is, we should have ordered more poppadoms as the pickles were to die for! My new place to go for a curry!!!

Waited over 3 hours for delivery on a Saturday night. When I did get through on the phone the guy was apologetic but just said it was busy. By the time it arrived it was late and was disappointing. A shame as we've eaten in the restaurant before and enjoyed it. If we'd known how long it would take we wouldn't have ordered. I think there needs to be more honesty over realistic delivery times or stop taking orders if it's very busy as it's clearly effecting the service.

Honestly the most disgusting service I have ever had. Left waiting for over three hours. This isn’t a typo. Three hours. No excuse offered. I am absolutely disgusted and we have not received a refund. Absolutely awful. Absolutely disgusted.

Ordered a takeaway at 5pm 1 and half hours later rang the restaurant which said it’s still waiting to go out don’t order a takeaway from here!!!!!

Used to be our favourite curry place so decided to order a takeaway. Onion bargees were salty & sitting in a puddle of fat. Ordered balti regular heat ( was told would be mild to medium) it was far too hot no real flavour & salty. Sorry won't be coming back as really disappointed.

We were visiting Sowerby Bridge and Killings was recommended. What a great recommendation. The food was superb , reasonably priced and the service was fabulous. I'd like to mention our lovely waitress whom sadly I didn't take her name from. She wAs lovely and provided advice , she was attentive and friendly and happt.Would highly recommend.

I have eaten in the restaurant previously and found it to be very good value for money but haven't previously had a takeaway meal. It was absolutely gorgeous. It came in a box to help keep it warm. The meat starter was plentiful, fresh and tasty and the mains very flavoursome too and lots of it so I have just finished it for brunch so amazing value.

My husband and I visited this restaurant after a hard days work on a local training course. I ordered a tomato based curry which had puréed mango as one of the main ingredients. It was delicious! My husband made light work of his meal too. We had a laugh with a quick witted waitress too, would recommend!

Very good Indian food, it's rare we go anywhere and have Indian as good as where we live, but this was very good Give it a try, you won't be disappointed

decided too go to kiplings fpr my girlfriends birthday treat and was not disapointed the four of us were treated like royalty service was amazing was greeted by cat (popadom) and she tended our table threw out our visit she was amazing very cheerful funny and helpfull the food from starters too mains was super hot fresh and tastythe menu was great lots too choose from the male staff were very attentive and stopped too chat and have a joke with you looking forward too going back in the future ,

Fantastic food, personable staff and great customer service. The waiter even took the time to educate us on how best to appreciate our starters. Great experience and we will definitely be returning and recommending to all our friends. Five stars x

I would not recommend getting food from here. The delivery man was nice but the food isn’t great. It’s ok. We had korma which was not creamy, masala was ok but I’ve had better. Too much sauce. The rice and naan were good.

Went on Sunday for fathers day celebration. Table booked for 7pm. Seated straight away drinks ordered and starters.After an hour and having asked when starters would arrive finally arrived 8.15. Mains a little after. We finally left around the 9 o'clock mark.I will say the food is excellent........but while we seated the JUSTEAT takeaways were flying out the door. Surely the seated customers who had made the effort to visit the restaurant should be given some sort of priority. Finally the bill was wrong.

Very nice! Happened upon this place while out and about. The food is excellent very well balance flavours good selection of dishes on the menu, and for people that like to try something new, a good number of india dishes you won't find on a takeaway menu. The staff are friendly and not too in your face while you eat. Service was well timed for each course. The place may look a little small from the outside buy its actually quite nice and spacious inside. Worth another visit for sure!Even if you are a sceptic of reviews, you won't regret giving it a try!

Order take away from here every week. High quality food and great service. My wife has a nut allergy and they prepare the food in a separate area of the kitchen, with new equipment, from scratch, every time.

Another quality takeaway experience from Kiplings. Easter Sunday takeaway ordered at teatime for collection. Was told 30 mins & was ready 30 mins. Food was tremendous. Best onion bhajis I've had in a long time. Vegetable jalfrezi was packed full of chunky veg & just the right level of spice for me. Wife's biryani generous with the king prawns. Son's chicken tikka masala spot on. Highly recommended. Thanks Kiplings!

i thought its friday night we will have a treat spent £28 ordered a chicken masala and a chicken madras it was awful the chicken masala came chicken tikka which i did not order and the chicken madras tasted the same as chicken masala mmmm there should be a difference dont you think awful wont order again very disappointed disgraceful

Would not recommend; as for some reason they can’t get your order correct and send all food ordered and paid for. First time we ordered, a number of things were missing. Decided to give them benefit of doubt and order a second time as the food was nice. Mentioned on the phone when ordering about the previous issue and yet again something was missing from a relatively small order. Not acceptable when we have already waited much longer than the time given. Will not be ordering again.

Waited on a takeaway...literally only ordered a korma and it just never even turned up. Time ticked on and on so we didnt trust it was coming and gave up. Could not get through over the phone either for half an hour.

Can't fault the food here. But paying nearly £30 for reheated chips, im assuming in the microwave is not good enough. Real disappointment

I ordered a takeaway to be delivered. The food was very nice and reasonably priced (although I noticed that a 330ml can of drink was £1.40 which seems steep), but the wait time on the delivery was unacceptable. I acknowledge my order was at a peak time (Saturday at around 6pm), but it didn't arrive until 8.20pm, despite an estimated delivery time of 7pm-7.20pm. On balance, I won't be returning.

Samoso size was tiny for the price and I couldn't eat my chicken korma as the sauce tasted full of salt and tasted funky ...very disappointed to say the least ..my partner was not overly impressed with his order either.

So we ordered a delivery on Néw Years Eve and they duly took the cash, two hours later and 80 plus calls later, we finally managed to get through, to be advised they hadn’t received our order, despite us having an order number and therefore we couldn’t have our food and it would take 3 days to return the money that had been taken.If this is acceptable please continue to eat there but we however will not frequent this local restaurant, despite our regular attendance we will not be providing any custom going forward.

We decided to order a kiplings take away for our Christmas dinner this year in view of COVID restrictions . The order process was quick, simple and professional, delivered on Christmas Day hot and exactly on time despite us being 30 mins away. It tasted amazing as always thank you Kiplings. Mrs Dixon

From the moment we walked through the door, Tariq was friendly, welcoming and really funny. He made us laugh throughout the service and made our experience great. Raf served our food, he was also extremely entertaining and made our meal so joyful. Just to top it off the food was so delicious, incredible and excellent value for money. Spent £65 quid for sons birthday and to be truly honest we were all pretty disappointed. The dishes were average at best and the chicken in the madras had a strange rubbery texture. Nans were bland , the chips were probably the best part which is quite sad. Definitely won’t be buying from them again. I honestly never write reviews but I feel ripped off.

Hands down one of the nicest indian restaurants I've ever been to! My friend and I visited for tea and were greeted with a warm welcome. Our temperature was checked with a state-of-the-art machine before we were seated to ensure safety!We were presented with the early bird menu and the food did not disappoint! Fabulous starters and mains. Our host also talked us through the pickle tray and got my (very picky!!) friend to try some, who NEVER eats anything like that. Absolutely spot on, will definitely be back!Only slight downside is the heating was on full blast and was too hot. Wouldnt put me off visiting again, I'd just need to sit by the door!

We were made to feel very welcome from the start. Superb food which arrived from Otley. The service provided really added to the overall dining experience. Visiting Kipling's will not disappoint.

Last Saturday of our hols so decided to treat ourselves to a curry. Very well organised with the poshest temperature checking machine I’ve come across so far. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Tariq. The food was lovely and cooked as per our requests. Will definitely be back.

This little town close to Halifax has a fantastic Indian restaurant one of the best I have had in a while. Passed loads of time but never called in so time to change that. The owner checked our temp asked us to fill track and trace then shown to our table. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was fantastic. The service was also very good indeed. Will be going again in the near future well done.

Still the best curries in Yorkshire dont bother going anywhere else for curries when they keep knocking it out of the park! and great service from the new boy Tariq

The best curry house in Halifax without a doubt. It is a proper restaurant, not somewhere to fall into late at night after a few pints and it is exceptional. There was a lively buzz, the welcome was great (included a temperature check!). We had booked ahead and were shown to the table promptly. Even though it was busy, the staff were attentive, super-friendly and nothing was too much for them. But the food... Fantastic. Very generous portions (the naans are enormous so order with caution!), the curties (a lamb dopiaza and a lamb rogan josh) were delicious. Not swimming in ghee, just full of meat and flavours. What really surprised us was the bill. @ poppadoms, a shared starter, two curries, one rice, one roti, a garlic naan, 3 pints and 3 glasses of wine.... £55. Fabulous value in my book.Shout out to the staff - Tariq, the other waiter and the blonde haired young lady whose names I didn't catch. Thanks all, it was a wonderful experience. We'll be back.

The whole place is incredibly Covid-19 efficient! The service is incredible and very attentive, you must Tariq he is one of the loveliest characters that you wish to better your evening out. I had the masala fish and it was cooked perfectly, my partner had the chicken Karai, he ate every mouthful. Thank you Kiplings

I've ordered from here and it was special,today we came to eat in without booking the squeezed us and where very friendly,I'm telling the truth its the best curry I've ever had and I love curry,you need to visit here its absolutely outstanding 10 out of 10 thanks to tariq ram and pav for the excellent service and all the other bar staff

What can we say? This is the friendliest place that we keep on coming back to. The food is amazing and the staff are 5*, in particular Tariq tonight was brilliant! Thankyou Tariq :)

We ordered a family meal through Uber Eats which went very smoothly. Was told it would arrive 8.05 to 8.35pm through the app. We had updates on the app saying it would be with us soon but nothing arrived. At 8.45 we realised something was wrong and tried to call the restaurant - it was engaged. Repeated calls were the same. Repeated attempts gave the same result. We continued to try this for an hour and around 9.50pm we got an answer. They said the food was on its way. It arrived just after 10.00pm. We’d been self isolating and trying not to contaminate the kids’ food. It arrived too late though and we had to feed the kids earlier. Awful service! Don’t try it. I’ve since compared notes with other people who have waited for 3+ hours for a delivery.
