Thought we would give it a go but regrets the moment we saw the place. To be fair the staff were lovely however the food was not at all good. The toilets should have been condemned and the restaurant closed down as it was dirty and just thoroughly tatty and disgusting.

Over the last couple of months we have eaten here most Friday evenings and the food has never disappointed. The currys are lovely and prices are decent, Ziggy is such a nice bloke and has been so lovely to us and our son from our first visit. The only thing that disappointed me was the tandoori mixed grill which i had tonight for my main. Priced at £9.50 i dont think its worth the money portion wise (more like a sharing sized starter) although very tasty, i think it could maybe come with chips and a pickle tray for that price, but maybe thats just me. All round though an amazing place to eat, highly recommended!

Worst meal ever. Burnt nmixed grill. Nan breads flat and dry. Like they are made out of flour and water.

Very out of a tin and not authentic at all. Can be a bit rowdy with the local knuckle draggers. Like most Asian food outlets poor

The only positive thing I can say about this restaurant is that it is cheap. The food is either bland and tasteless or ferociously over spiced. Lots of salt too I think. I drank lots of water with my meal and afterwards but still awake wth a raging thirst this morning. The food is greasy and everyone said that theirs was served below the right temperature. The staff are indifferent. Service takes ages. The interior is about as unwelcoming as you could imagine. There is a smell of stale cooking oil. The lighting is harsh. It is cold. The decor would have looked dated in 1970 and is in a poor state of repair. It is not licensed to sell alcohol. The toilets are smelly and don't look clean. The claim that they are vegetarian friendly is dubious as there only a very small number of suitable dishes. I had a vegetarian dish which was served lukewarm. Friends who had meat/chicken dishes had difficulty identifying which part of the animal they were eating. The menu claims that the restaurant has a five star hygiene rating. I am not sure when it was thus rated but I suggest they would have difficulty achieving such a rating now. I may be wrong of course. According to Trip Advisor there are 68 outlets in the Halifax area selling this type of food. Ziggy's needs to make some urgent improvements unless they want to see that number reduce to 67.

It's very rare that I go for a night out in Halifax anymore but I have always ended the night with a meal at Ziggys.We went last night after the VIP opening of Yates, oh my what a huge mistake! Just awful ! Our food was shockingly bad. The pilau rice tasted sour, chicken in every dish had a very strange texture. The chapttis were thick and crispy! Shocking service and I had to wander into the kitchen to find anyone to get our bill! We waited nearly an our from ordering for what can only be described as the worst food and service I've ever had.Will never return.

YUK ! ordered 2 dishes for takeaway, 1x Chicken Balti and 1x Lamb Balti. Both dishes were different colours and tasted like thick beef gravy with the odd chillies.Last time we had something from here it had gone downhill, but stupidly i believed the Just Eat reviews.Both went in the bin and ended up having something out of the cupboard. Will not use these again,

I am afraid since Ziggy sold this Restaurant the food has gone down hill in a big way. We always order our take aways from here and the last 2 have been terrible, so we won't be ordering again from Ziggy's. it is a shame because they used to be one of the best in Halifax. My Partner ordered a Balti and he couldn't eat it, it was that hot !!! but the quality of the food was poor too. Definitely a NO NO!!!

Buffet has very limited choices for the price you pay for. A few Asian kids running around the kitchen, very unhygienic. We found a small bead in our food, they didn’t do anything for it, not even say sorry, blaming my teenage daughters instead which is ridiculous. My kids don’t wear any like the bead. Make me feel disgusted. Won’t go again ever.

My friends and I ate here last month after bowling in Halifax - it was the only place open but with hindsight I wish I had just gone hungry! We had the buffet & not only were the starters dried out, but there was hardly anything there (we ate at about 9.30 ish & apparently they serve food until 11pm so it wasnt to do with that!) The 'meat' in the mains was awful - small uniformly cubed bit of dried up chicken or whatever is was. The sauce was watery. The salads were soggy. All in all, a stomach turning experience. Would definitely not recommend. I don't know how they still retain their 4.5 stars on here when they serve this poor excuse for food to customers.

Unfortunately this was only place open late so we chanced it again. God it was awful. Chicken Dhansak was so hot it was inedible and the SALT! Lamb Bhuna was like a vindaloo. We left most of it. Pointed out what we thought, just got shrugged shoulders. We should have gone to Brighouse!!

What the hell has happened to Ziggys? The last time we came here (which was a while ago) the food was lovely and the service was good, but now all standards seem to have gone out of the window. The service was slow and inattentive. The food was extremely spicy with no taste (my curry tasted like one of those jars of 'chip shop curry' sauce) and my partners food (which was also extremely spicy with no taste) was no better. They also brought out the starter at the same time as the mains which is a big no no in catering. We felt extremely rushed throughout the entire meal, and like the staff wanted us out of the way because they had booked up the resturant with famillies that were fasting for Ramadan. Don't waste your money eating here. There are better curry houses in the area with much better service. Lanika at the top of Halifax is far superior and definitely worth a visit. We will never step foot in Ziggys again. Avoid!

Went for the all you can eat buffet and was very disappointed in what they had to offer, there were a few started chicken nibbles, bhaji, shami, sheikh kebabs and chicken tikka pieces. There was only 4 choices of curry all chicken not very tasty, rice,nan, soggy fries and chapati. ice cream and cheese cake thing.

We were recommended to Ziggys as offering the best curry in Halifax. This may well be true - we have nothing to compare it to - but we were very disappointed. We were the only people there (about 8.30pm on a Saturday) so no atmosphere at all and they don't serve alcohol (maybe that is why it was empty?!!). The food and service were fine but nothing special. A disappointment and we would certainly not go back.

The Food is gorgeous, portion sizes are great and the staff and lovely and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

I went to ziggys tonight for a treat meal was very disappointed we both ordered mixed starters the samosa wasn't cooked the pastry was raw when I complained the answer was "why what's wrong with it" no apology what's so ever. I got the chicken tikka Asian style which was processed chicken and so salty I couldn't eat it. And keema Nan with hardly any mince in it and it also tasted really strange. Won't be visiting again!

We used to come here every week until the new owners took over then we had to sit for over an hour listening to the owner argue with someone saying he was not willing to pay the £16,000 he owed them they then argued about solicitors being involved and after complaining twice and being told to mind my own business we left and will not be returning again

Friendly Indian with decent food and a very nice host. Went in a wet Saturday night and he offers us fresh towels to dry ourselves off.

I have been going to Ziggys over the years & it has always been a decent enough restaurant. But recently Ziggy has sold it on to someone else & the standard of food has really gone downhill.The drinks license has now gone so you have to take your own which seems odd for a town centre curry house?!?!!?Onto the meal. The starters were run of the mill sheikh kebab, no better or worse than your standard curry house. For the main course I had Chicken Balti & was horrified to get processed chicken (the stuff you get in those dreadful pre packed sandwiches) & the sauce was extremely bland too. Quite possibly the worst restaurant curry I have ever had in my life & I have been going to them for 35 years.Money wise it was reasonably priced, but that didn't include alcohol.Avoid at all costs as there are plenty more decent ones in Halifax!

Good value buffet, the food was fresh and tasty. Plenty of choice for meat eaters but not one single vegetarian dish which is unacceptable in this day and age. Luckily the staff were friendly and offered to make a veggie dish from scratch, but still it would have been nice to be able to choose from at least a couple of buffet dishes. Will definitely return but next time will give the buffet a miss.

Went for the buffet, best bit was leaving the place! £23 for 2 buffets and 2 cokes! Food crap no taste and chicken/meat cut up into tiny pieces with tasteless sauce!

When I came into ziggys I thought I was in for an average curry but I was wrong. The food was really nice and the atmosphere was lovely. However the the waiters could be a bit more interactive with the customers but that's a minor problem that can be corrected.

The lamb chops, chicken kiraai and fish masalah were the best food just made fine. The restaurant caters for all people and families. Excellent customer service and food. Highly recommended to anyone.

Walked in beautiful ambience beautiful atmosphere dim lighting suited the building. Food,Food was perfect and well cooked. You could tell it was freshly prepared warm enough for your taste buds. Warm and friendly environment. Waiters and waitress very friendly,approachable,kind and well mannered. Most restaurants have nice food but their customer service is not brilliant. Fish tank in midddle looks great. All credit goes to the management of the place. Will be coming soon again and highly recommend

Not been to this place before - we enjoyed the buffet and the pizza was cooked perfectly. Ice cream & Halwa was a nice touch at the end. The owner also runs The famous Punjab in bradford

I was very happy with the standard of food that was served, not only was it fresh, it was delicious too! Everything was fresh and presented nicely. I had the starters along with the curries and pizza all of which were on point. Will defo agent be visiting again! 5stars xxxxx

I've been there twice with my friends. Food was absolutely delicious. Lamb and chicken were fresh and tasty. So food 10 out of 10. The service was absolutely nice and really helpful. I'll be happy to visit Ziggys again despite even the ugly interior design which is not cost at all.

I recently visited with a group of 15-20 friends. The workers were polite and professional. Our food was bought out in a timely manner. Nice atmosphere to the place and the food was amazing. Would highly recommend

Went ziggys for the first time and it was absolutely amazing. The service was on point and the lamb was delicious. I would recommend this place 100% ,I would try the lamb and the halwa ice cream combo.

ordered a takeaway from ziggys, chicken rogan josh , almost burnt my tongue and mouth out , over spiced , chapati was hard when i got home , not very good and totally disappointed .

The pizza and chicken dopiayaz and karaai king prawn was amazing and beautiful foods I have ever ate in Halifax. The customer service was excellent as the food was served on time and the staff were very friendly. They had many facilities to carter for customers like sitting in and eating. It had a beautiful environment. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to any person and they have special offers that I would go for as 15% off for parties that include about 10 people. Also, i have catered from them before and the food was delicious with being cooked right. I have had very good feedback from previous people who ate from the place. Highly recommended!

I have been to Ziggy,s the food was amazing. We ate from buffet the desert was gajerella sweet I never had it before dish that was amazing.The staff was very helpful & friendly I asked them about the new owner they were praising him. That he treats them well he looks after us and encouraging us to treat all of over customers to the best of our abilities.

Ziggy has worked very hard to make everyone feel special and we are already noticing changes in the atmosphere and the service even though he still pops in to help. He is an amazing host and very lovely guy. My children are devastated that he has left. I did not feel the service was as good last time we were there as it is when Ziggy is around. Even the staff do not seem as happy or attentive. Hopefully this will go back to how it was soon.

Lovely food, lovely restaurant..good curry!! To say I'm not a curry person is true, but I had the chicken dopiaza from main menu, I didn't say how hot I wanted so just ate it as it was! Jesus to me it was hot and spicy but I finished it all even though it was bring a tear to my eyes haha!I would go back again as it was a good curry!

As to be the best place or food in halifax. The curries the pizzas and the staff are amazing. And the waitresses are a credit to the place.

Been twice first curry too spicy second like water. Have been advised to go both times and have not been impressed. We were a party of ten the second time and only 1 person didn't have complain won't be going third time.

Went to Ziggy's for our regular monthly Ladies night and as always had a wonderful time. The food is wonderful, but a good night out is made up of so many other things. We always feel pampered there, Ziggy is always around making customers so welcome and we are never rushed. We went for 7:30 and didn't leave until gone 12. So sad that Ziggy will not be there anymore. He is a big part of making the dining experience so exceptional

I meet with friends once a month at Ziggys and it is sad that our genial host will no longer be around. All our visits we have had delicious food both from the menu and buffet, and not once been disappointed. Thank you Ziggy and all your staff over these last few years for your fantastic, friendly service, and hopefully your successor will carry on with the high standards you have. Ordered from here tonight, one hour wait for delivery and then it turns up, kebab looks uncooked and is crunchy and pale, chicken tikka curry overpriced and tastes like a supermarket curry, chips are all black and very overpriced! Definitely won't be ordering again.

Always had a good experience eating at Ziggy's. After a night out, a meal out or a takeaway its always been great. Ziggy has become a positive part of the community and is always a good host. Recently used Just Eat with Ziggy's and that was great too and the restaurant rang ahead to check the details making Just Eat and easy option, one that has been a pain with previous takeaways. I recommend Ziggy's for good food and good company he's always treated myself and partner well!

Tried Indian food and loved it. Service was good and satisfied with the price. Out of 9 friends couple of them complained of curry being little spicy and little cold for them, otherwise the restaurant is good to give a try.

I went back to Ziggys after what must have been 15 years. I was pleasantly surprised by the new decor. However the food wasn't up to scratch, we all chose the buffet. The food was Luke warm at best. The various dishes were just ok nothing special, the deserts were lovely though. Next time we go we will be eating from the menu only.We did have a lovely welcome and all the staff were very pleasant.

We ordered from the 'set menu' . The food was lovely ,fresh and hot and very tasty. There is a good selection to choose from and it's certainly value for money. We will be back soon.

Really disappointed as one of the dishes we ordered was a mild/medium masala. I had one mouthful, they was massive chillies in it, can't eat it as it's far too hot. Chips was full of black bits through middle of most of them and fish pakoras was soggy . Not happy at all I have never ever had a curry as bad that I can't eat it!

I first started coming here when I moved from Huddersfield 10 years ago and I must say that it's the best curry house that I have ever been to, the food is fantastic,the staff are so friendly and as for Ziggy himself nothing is to much trouble for him, keep up the good work guys and see you soon

Absolutely amazing...I couldn't say a bad word about the place if I tried! Ziggy is always smiling and friendly along with all his staff, great with kids (as we have experienced) clean kitchen which you can see into from the restaurant and buffet area!!

Neva fails me at this place always spot on with the food lovely staff..we went to the buffet and the food was to die for so much choice even for young ones..really nice atmosphere... would highly recommend to family friends and work friends!!! 10/10

After I finish work I always visit just eat and buy food from Ziggy's, the curries and the pizza are by far the best I've had In a long time, and extremely reliable when coming to collect

We went to the buffet at Ziggys Spice house yesterday for my birthday. The place is immaculate, the food fresh and the Host friendly.The food in the buffet area looks low in the containers and we were advised as this kept the food fresh rather than filling them to the top they top them up to keep the food fresh. We arrived at 6pm and left at 8:30pm at no point did the food run out it was advised constantly topped up with fresh food. Ziggy was a perfect host came and chatted to me and my guests and help to make the evening enjoyable for me and my family. I am always worried when eating out but i have no worries here the kitchen is in plain sight the door is open right next to the buffet and you can see a clean spotless kitchen as you walk in the door. The floor is clear and the chiefs are all smartly dressed and offered advice on each curry when asked.I would recommend anyone to try and make your own judgment you will not be disappointed.

Spoke to some locals who advised me it's the best but to be honest..... I've had better! Don't get me wrong if ya like mass produced curry without that distinction of a good spice curry then this will do ya thing but!!! If ya like a curry where you can taste every spice don't bother! Starter... I asked the waitress what something on the plate was she had no idea! Main course... Peshwari naan was a plain naan with a little of brown sugar on! This place is a specialist in the big standard curry not special at all! I asked for him to change a chef special and it was met with a 'we can't change the base of it'....

First time visit for us, Friday evening, the restaurant wasn't too busy.A friendly greeting by the owner (I assume), there was a choice to order from their menu, or their banquet. We were guided through the banquet, loads of choice for both starters and mains, and an excellent choice of salads and sundires.We went for the banquet (no surprise), everything that we tried was excellent. We didn't have a sweet, but again there were various options, even a chocolate fountain!Price wise, just £10 per head, which when drinks were added brought our bill well under £30 - truly fantasic value.So, we really enjoyed our visit, we'll definately call again, and I'm happy to recommend to others.

Used to go to Ziggy's years ago. A curry after a night in town was par for the course. Hadn't been for a long time and was disappointed to find the place empty at 11 30 on a Friday evening, Service was fine, really pleasant young staff. Food OK but too greasy for me.

I took our family out for tea last night to Ziggys spice house and wow what lovely friendly service, the staff couldn't do enough for us, Our 12 year old is very fussy and ziggy even took chloe over and showed her all the meals and she loved the tikka pieces and samosas as well as trying the curries which she never has before, Good food, Good people couldn't have asked for more def be back for more :)

I asked for take away and the staff was brilliant taking my order. Also, it is managed very effectively. The food was very tasty. We are definitely coming back!

For £9.99 it definitely serves its purpose. No real difference between the buffet and menu. The food was tasty and fresh and the staff were helpful. Best to get there early at the weekends before it fills up.

the title says it all really...We like to pop in every few weeks for a treat and the welcome we get is amazing. We sometimes go for the buffet option and sometimes for the menu and we're never disappointed. The food is always great and fresh, the drinks are well priced too and the atmosphere is perfect to just relax and unwind.10 out of 10

We have been visiting Ziggys regularly for nearly 2 years and can honestly say we have enjoyed each time we have come. Not only is the food delicious but the service is excellent.

We go to Ziggys often, Ziggy and his staff are very helpful and friendly. Some eat from the buffet and some from the menu. The food is always hot, tasty and well presented. The handi lamb was really tender. Thank you once again all you never let us down. See you again.

We went to Ziggy's as a family to celebrate my father-in-laws birthday who sadly passed away last year. Ziggy being the nice guy he is made us feel really welcome and spent time chatting to us.The buffet was mega and plentiful - went back for seconds it was so good. Our 4 year old granddaughter loves the chocolate fountain which she made fruit kababs . staff very friendly and polite, the place was very busy and great atmosphere. Definatly reccoment to everyone.

Last night we had a very good take away. Each dish was very flavourful and portions were a good size. Very reasonably priced.

I have been going to Ziggy's Spice House for years. The staff are always very welcoming & helpful which equates to great service. The food is excellent, I have tried many dishes but the chicken pakora and chicken tikka starters are excellent. It's also good that you can have the buffet now as you can have several different dishes at once for a very reasonable price. Excellent overall

Took my daughter to ziggys for her birthday as we all love it here has a great atmosphere and great staff and ziggy himself made it special with a birthday banner balloons and a mocktail the food was delicious as always
