Rude delivery man. Cold food. Apparently, our fault, ive used this restaurant for 25 years plus, been in this property for nearly 10 years, never once have they failed, until tonight. This guy needs to kearn some manners. Sorry for negative comment,

Been going to Swagat regularly for a long while now and it never disappoints, delicious food and varied menu which is always changed around, has a great atmosphere and most importantly the service is excellent, staff are super friendly and attentive. The manager has become a friend and loves a chat. What more do you want? Fab.

Was served rancid brown salad with overpriced thaali. Place empty. Only customers. Left for 20 mins before being asked for order. Food OK but Thaali quite small portions, and overpriced. Worst was the rancid brown salad. Amazed they had the gall to serve it. Must be blind.

It was my first ever visit to this place n I only went in for tea but I wasnāt expecting such a cosy atmosphere and well trained staff who welcome you at the door and then takes you straight to your table after checking for your booking only if you need to otherwise they welcome walk-in as well but I would recommend online booking if you are coming in a large group. They do have outdoor sitting as well but different way of sitting, VIP pods they call it.

Weāve been to this restaurant for many years and it used to be the best Indian in Berkhamsted, although expensive,it was worth it. Had lunch there recently. We were the only patrons. Plenty of attentive staff gave us a warm welcome. But, oh dear, the food was way down on quality on this occasion. Starter for me was duck in tamarind sauce. Very tough and the sauce only had a hint of tamarind. This was followed by king prawns in a creamy sauce with cashew nuts. A dish Iāve had many times here. Huge prawns but dreadfully overcooked and tough and chewy. Plus the sauce, although tasty, was neither creamy and contained just one cashew. Also the side dish of Tarka Dall was dry and contained no garlic. This could have been a one off, bad day, inexperienced new chef, perhaps. This experience will not mean we will never go again. Itās the nearest Indian to our home and weāll give it another visit in the future, as this is the first time they let us down. If the next visit is back to its normal excellence, Iāll report back with another review.
