Beckenham Curry Club in Bromley

Just the worst experience. Chewy chicken served to 8 year old. Paneer tikka was the smallest portion (4 chunks) swimming in sauce. The prawn dish , well, tried to find the prawns!!!. They kept trying to clear the table before we had finished. Will never go here again. Overpriced & underwhelming 🥲.

Food is amazing and very good for price some of the best in beckenham although takes a while to deliver probably because it takes a while to prepare but highly recommend

Really disappointed that our favourite curry house couldn't meet the already long waiting time. We booked at 18:41 and was told no later than 20.05. It arrived at 20.35

Sadly it seems to be hit and miss depending on the chef! The first couple of take aways we had were amazing. Just had one now and it was bland and tasteless

Great food and portion size. I really enjoyed the curry only thing I wasn’t too keen on was the Bombay aloo (would have preferred more seasoning, tasted more lemon-y?). Would probably order again with a good discount:)

After our rather disappointing visit back in 2021 we have since given the BCC another chance and I’m pleased to announce things are back to normal. Saturday was our 4th re-visit over as many months and the food is as delicious as it always was! The Chicken House Special was fantastic, beautifully cooked and spicy. The Lamb Lal Mass was tender and wonderfully flavoured. We had various paneer sides and a keema rice all of which was really tasty. They are now selling bottles of Cobra, and they say that a comprehensive wine menu will follow shortly, (although I’m very happy to bring my own, cheaper too). So I’m pleased to say that one of our favourite restaurants is back on form. Still great value, and good service. Keep up the good work BCC!

Good food but when asked to leave tip, on the tap to pay machine it gave us the choice of 15%, 20% or 30%, as far as we could see no option to leave just 10% tip.

First visit to this restaurant and not disappointed. Great food - 11 dishes ordered and not a scrap left. The only alcohol served is Cobra beer but the restaurant allowed us to pop next door to buy some wine with no corkage charge. Will definitely revisit soon.

Ordered a takeaway 06/08/23 I had a tandoori chicken and Keema nan. The food was absolutely disgusting. The tandoori chicken was dry and tasteless the salad was a joke. Ended up with an upset stomach will not be using this outfit again.

We booked a table at Curry Club because we were a largeish group (10) who were going after the pub at 10pm and we were told that we would have to pay for any drinks in cash, which we agreed to. On arrival there were 12 of us and we were asked to hand over £150 in cash, which we did - so that is £12.50 per head! The staff were friendly and the guy taking the order went out to a local supermarket to get prosecco for the ladies and came back with 4 bottles. We ordered and the food came out. The curries had lots of sauce but very little meat - and one of our group said "it looks like soup!". The breads were small and the rice portions the same. At the end we asked for our bill and were asked for a further £45 odd in cash for the drinks. We asked for a list of what we had had that would come to £195 but they could not/would not provide this - also we had no further cash at this point and no cashpoints locally so this was added to the food bill. And this is what I mean by knowing you have been ripped off. I am pretty sure the men only had one beer each or two at a push so that would be 12 bottles of beer and 4 bottles of supermarket prosecco - how does that come to £195?!! Sad to say as this is a local business but I won't go back there again.

after having food delivered a number of time i called again tonight asked for a delivery, and was told yes sir no problem asked for the address i gave the address then i was told i have to pick it up they dont deliver there i said why iv had delivery many times he said only one driver and he left. so why go through everything as normal well done curry club you have lost a customer you will never see me again

Disappointed, after reading the good reviews about Curry Club, ordered Chicken Makani, Pilau rice, Tarka Dhal & mixed vegetable curry. The Makhani was sickly sweet, dhal very watery & vegetable curry mushy. Not enjoyable and I doubt I will order again.

My cousins came over from another country that does not commonly serve Indian food and they were very keen to try some out, and they were not disappointed. They had a nice variety of tantalizingly tasty dishes I chose for them, seeing as I sampled a fair few of them here from my many visits - my 8th this year alone. We started off with papadams fresh and crisy with freshly prepared mint sauce, mango chutney, lime pickle and onion salad. For mains, we had chicken curry, lamb dhansak, chicken balti (my favourite), veg and special fried rices, chicken tikka and garlic naan. We all shared our food and enjoyed it thoroughly with the Dhansak and Balti dishes bringing mouthwatering enjoyment to all. Service is always great and staff always provide a great personal and humerous experience here, with the chef always popping out to say hello too. It so helps it being a small restaurant, because you often don't get that personal experience in larger restaurants. Love the idea of bringing your own alcohol too, not only to save ££, but also means your not limited to beers like cobra or kingfisher, like in other Indian restaurants. You bring your own alcohol, to suit your tastes for which there is an infinite choice of beers or wines, etc. you get to choose, which provides a rare opportunity to make your dining experience unique and bespoke, and therefore memorable. Thank you again to everyone at Indian Diner, not only my top local Indian restaurant by far but my top restaurant.

I ordered a medium Chicken Tikka Masala but was given something very very spicy. I couldn’t eat it. I called the restaurant but was told it was a medium but it said HOT on the box.

Took my mum here for surprise birthday meal. The service was amazing the food was amazing. They catered for children also. Reasonably priced and was able to take the booking at the last minute aswell. Would definitely recommend xx

I moved to the area 4 years ago and have been ordering from here ever since on the regular. The service is always fantastic and the food options and top notch. A wide variety of starters, meats and sides - im always trying something new here and I am never dissatisfied. The food rating i would give 9/10, very hard if at all possible to find a better tasting curry house. Seasoned, cooked and served to an amazing standard always. Well done.

I have never eaten here so the review is not so much for the actual establishment but the person i encountered just after Christmas. It was pouring with rain and non stop. I stopped under the awning of this place and a man who had keys arrived and opened the door (to set up for the evening) and offered for me to come in and sit down to wait for the rain to stop so I didn't get soaking wet (or more so). Although i declined as my car was just across the road and i was going to make a run for it, it was such a kind gesture and these days not what you expect from people. So if that's the kind of people working here then i'm sure their customer service is excellent!

Yet another top curry here with friends. Tried the balti this time which was very tasty and my friends had the dupiaza and karai, ans were equally as tasty. Great bonus to be able to bring our own drinks, because you know you can bring your favourite drinks, instead of what they used to have on offer. Well done chef great food and service.

Fantastic dishes all round included lamb special, rezalla, jalfrezi. Naans and papadams all freshly cooked too. Even better you can drink what you like as you bring your own booze. Been coming here for 10 years now. Respect to top chef.

Barely edible. Had much better curries in other restaurants. Coconut rice was very oily. And the Chicken Tikka Masala was really bad, no authentic taste. Tasted very sweet and sugary not like any others that I have had before.

If you want a real curry, this is the place with actual spices in there curry's , than a curry what looks like it came out of a jar, with good service for eat in or takeaway.

I ordered 2 x rogan josh , garlic chilli chicken, Nan bread and 3 portions of rice . Rogan Josh was tasteless and with too much oil. I specifically asked for lamb rogan to be madras hot, it was mild . We paid for 3 x rice , only 2 portions given with careless apology and offer for me to collect another portion. There was also an attempt to overcharge me but I didn’t fall for it . Garlic chicken was good and the only positive. Sadly this will be my last visit to Beckenham Curry club - never again

Tandoori chicken - absolutely not… raw and certainly not tandoori Rogan lamb - large gelatinous clumps of cold lamb oil Naan - Burnt naan bread Chicken tikka masala - tasted like tomato ketchup! Order total £35! Called the restaurant, they blamed Deliveroo- and then hung up?? Really???

A little disappointing. Ordered online from BCC before and been fine, nothing special, but this last order wasn’t so good. Lamb tikka starter was tasteless, literally no flavour, small pieces of lamb with poor salad with it. Main course madras was fine, tasty and hot, but the side of undercooked potatoes were again tasteless. No flavour at all. Overall I don’t think I’ll order from then again as quality and prices aren’t good enough.

We always order from here and food is good, this time it wasn’t, the lamb biryani lacked flavour and very greasy. The veg curry was also very greasy, watery, lacked substance and flavour. The chicken pasanda and korma was fine. This was also the second delivery in a row where they had forgotten to add the rice we ordered.

We’ve been using the Beckenham Curry Club since it opened and have had nothing but great food and service. Sadly that has now all changed. Since the restaurant closed, all the take aways we’ve had since have slowly got worse. The last straw for us was Saturday. £90 worth of food and all of it terrible. The whole experience was extremely disappointing. The chicken was tough & tasted burnt in places. Everything was soaked in oil, even the rice, so most of it ended up in the bin. I’m aware of some changes in the business, looks like their fantastic chef is one of them! Such a shame. Very reluctantly I have to say... we won’t be going back! Sorry BCC!

Ordered a takeaway on New Years eve - my wife's B'day and she wanted her favourite dish ; king prawns special. Did not get of to a. good start as meal arrived 1hour late - thats 2 and. a half hours total ?!?!?? (The distance is 3 miles BTW) This is the WORST takeaway meal we have had for a long time from ANY restaurant let alone the 'curry club'. Oversalted to the point we could NOT finish our dishes and then the 'mixed raita' ; A sloppy yoghurt with 5 tiny pieces of cucumber in it - just disgusting. We have ordered great food from BCC in the past but WILL NOT order from this place again - appealing food and service

Having waited 2 hours and 20 mins (80mins expected) we were served with some lukewarm , over salted dishes that had no taste or resemblance of the dishes we have had from the ‘curry club’ in the past. Yes I know it’s New Years Eve but surely this should be routine for the Curry Club. If the food was as good as expected I would have taken the delay on the chin - this is just awful - I can’t finish the dish. A birthday RUINED. Ohhh and the ‘mixed raita’ at £2.50 !!?! Took money but have not delivered food. I ordered a meal online and paid by credit card for my family on New Years Eve. It was expected to take 75 minutes to arrive. After over 2 ½ hours I have still not received the food. I have called but they have been engaged or simply not answered the phone. I have emailed 3 times - no reply. So I have paid for a meal for 4, had NYE ruined and now having to cook a meal. Disgusting way to treat a customer - feels like fraud to take the money and not provide the food.
