The chicken didn’t taste good!

I've so disappointed in the Gulab this is normally my go to curry. sadly I technically received half of my starter and the chicken was so chewy I wouldn't have fed it to my dog and only two of the the 4 samosas I ordered. We used to use this place and dine in weekly it feels there's been a decline so much

Top quality Indian take away delivered early. Excellent size portions and 2 x free nans, veg curry and onion bhaji included - which was a very welcome surprise. Will definitely order from them again. Best Indian food in Reading

Such an amazing restaurant! I’ve been here more than 3 times in the past 4 months. The service is quick and the food is always delicious. I look forward to trying more food on the menu.

The food was great as always, the person delivering the food told us immediately that one of the containers had leaked a bit in transit andhas already organised for a replacement to be sent out, which was brought out really quickly. Really fantastic service.

Never again - there is nothing positive to say about this restaurant. The mango lassi was thick and sweet - no amount of water or salt could change the taste - I think it was pure mango pulp, the cook had probably forgotten to add the yogurt. We were shown a pint glass when we asked what the large size was going to be like but our lassies had only half the amount. Disingenuous. We ordered poppadoms and were asked if we wanted condiments to go with them - strange question because they always come with condiments elsewhere. No, not here - the condiments were horrible and we were charged extra for them. The tandoori chicken was tasteless, the aloo gobi was ok but very greasy. The service is equally bad - we asked for bottle water, it was dumped on our table without being opened. When we left, the person bid us good bye but didn't open the door for us. These are minor things but important for customer service. Waste of money. Never again...

I love this place! Curries are delicious and reasonably priced. Service is excellent and staff are friendly and accommodating. The place I keep going back to on Wokingham road!

What the hell is this. Ink on the rice because someone put the packaging on the wrong way, everything crushed. Definitely not what I expect for £40!! Will be chasing for a full refund.

Delivery. Wrong food delivered. I ordered lamb Shashlik with green peppers. Chicken Shashlik with red peppers delivered. Completely tasteless and horrible.

I have really liked this place before but was disappointed with my meal over the weekend. Ordered a pick up of a special lamb dish. There was 4 or 5 pieces of meat which was tough with no flavour. The sauce was nice but no flavour of lamb in it. Really surprised with this meal, but I don't think I'll be ordering from here for a while.

Came here for the first time tonight, surprisingly quiet for a Friday night given how amazing this place is! Really good naan bread, meat was succulent and not dry in both the curries and the starters. Staff were all very friendly, welcome and attentive throughout. Food was all hot, fresh and speedy. Would definitely recommend and come back!

We recently dined at this hidden gem of a restaurant and was absolutely blown away by the experience. The food served here is truly authentic, bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. But what truly sets this place apart is the amazing service provided by Rahman. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made me feel right at home. Rahman went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional, attending to every detail with care and professionalism. What's even better is that all of this comes at a nominal price. Overall, I can't recommend this restaurant enough for its delicious food and outstanding service. It's definitely a must-visit.

Lovely meal for three early last night. All the popular offerings but a number of different dishes from the norm so I had to try one. Really good. Some new accompaniments for the poppadoms as well, great different flavours. Service first class.

Have been to this restaurant a few times now for the all you can eat menu on a Sunday - amazing value and the food is delicious. Definitely the best onion bajis I have ever had - really big, flavourful and crispy. Rahman was our server and gave the most excellent service, he was recommending dishes for us to try and his recommendations were really great - he gave us some of the chicken tikka wings and they were delicious! I’d definitely order those again. He was also always checking on us during our meal to make sure we had everything we needed and was never far away if we did need something. Really amazing restaurant, and the quality is maintained when getting a takeaway as well - arrived hot! Definitely recommend for both takeaway and eating in!

Innovative menu includes includes gems such as Naga Chilli Massala. It's not as hot as you may expect and it's super tasty. The standards are on the menu alongside their chefs specials making the Garden of Gulab a stand-out local Indian treat. The staff are welcoming and their 'bring your own bottle' policy means that the bill will be fairly gentle on your wallet.

The chicken tikla naga masala was excellent. And thanks for the extra rice and nan.

You’re looking for mouth watering Indian cuisine? This is the best place. They had great service, they were warm and welcoming and Rahman was brilliant. You’ll not go wrong with the dishes in their menu as they’re freshly cooked.

Gulab Indian Kitchen is a neighbourhood indian & bangladeshi restaurant in workingham road..Me and my husband visted the restaurant for the first time..we really enjoyed the clean and tidy atmosphere..with delicious food..we tried taster plate, chicken briyani and chiken tikka masala with a couple of naan..food were well presented and super delicious..Mr. Rahman was very attentive and helpful with our queries..his positive nature and smile added more memories on our visit..overall we had a great time..and i recommend you to visit the place..if you are looking for something bandladeshi and indian taste in a nice atmosphere..🥰🥰

This is such a lovely restaurant, we’re a big fan and visit here almost every other weekend. Chicken balti is our all time favourite. Great portion size and food quality. The staff here is so warm. Special mention to Mr. Rahman for always serving with a big smile and being prompt. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Lovely neighbourhood restaurant offering fantastic selection of curries. Having been / had takeaways on multiple occasions, I’d say I prefer their lamb / prawn dishes than the chicken. It might just be personal preference but I feel that the spices are better absorbed on these meat compared to the chicken ones. Staff are very friendly and if you like alcoholic beverage with your curries (I don’t), it could be a good for your pocket that they have BYOB policy.

We went to eat at the Gulab Kitchen to celebrate a work event my husband organised. The food is lovely with such a range to choose from and it never disappoints. The service is excellent especially the waiter Rahman. Rahman goes over and above the normal waiter and is both friendly and professional. We would recommend eating great Indian food here

Food is very bad. Ordered mixed grilled but tastes very bland. This is not actual Indian restaurant but Bangladeshi. Kind of misleading.

Place is amazing the dishes surprise me everytime the flavours the presentation. However the best part of this is having the service of Rahman. His servicing is amazing such a kind friendly person, goes above and beyond me and my partner visit this place weekly!

Amazing food that's for sure, fresh and nicely executed. Nice and friendly staff but... Why me as a foreign person and my uncle who actually is British but has a African roots been treated differently than two English gents sat next to us. Was two of them and they had a eights sit by the table for 4 people we have been refused to sit by table like this even when restaurant was totally empty . Second when those gentlemen asked for boxes to take home rest of meal they have been served and they had all food packed by staff in yo the boxes when we have been given boxes left to do this ourselves. It was clearly not equal as it suppose to be everywhere doesn't matter where u from.

I have been ordering take-aways from here for at least a year now and can't fault this place. The food is always delicious, fresh, and consistently flavoursome. It is the best Indian in Reading, hands-down, and having lived in London and Cambridge it's definitely some of the best I've had! Thank you to the team. :-)

Gulab Indian Kitchen is consistently excellent (I had the prawn Shashlik most recently, which was superb). The service is attentive but discreet, the food arrived quickly, and everything was delicious. And it's great value. The only caveat is no alcohol on the menu … but you can bring your own, no problem, and it keeps the bill down. Highly recommended.

Been eating takeaway food from Gulab Indian Kitchen (formerly Miah's) for over 10 years. That sentence alone speaks volumes. The food quality is consistently excellent. Have tried a wide selection from the menu including their own "unique to us" dishes. Delicious.

A bit of a wait when you are hungry and know a great feast is on it's way... fantastic curries, free onion bhaji tasted like they were last night's offerings re-heated but wow, what fantastic curries with so many fresh herbs and Spices 😋

As a very picky eater I use to go elsewhere. Me and my boyfriend popped in one day as it’s very local to us. WOW! The service is amazing but the food is the best. This is now my go to place. Great price, great service, 10/10 from us.

Our student house of eight went for a meal after seeing the positive reviews - we thought we'd try a local, small business and it's within walking distance so more convenient than heading into Reading on the bus. We were glad we did! Rhman and the team were very friendly and accommodating and the food was absolutely flawless - all our curries were freshly made and bursting with flavour; we all thoroughly enjoyed it ! The Monday to Wednesday set meal option is outstanding value at less than £14 per head, and the Pappadums too were very tasty coming with a selection of home made dips (including a coconut dip exclusive to Gulab!)

Best Indian I've eaten in Reading! Very impressed with the quality, quantity and prices of the food we had. The staff was very friendly and we were treated extremely well. We ordered: - Chicken Biryani (WHICH COMES WITH A NAAN) - Chicken Korma - Chicken Bhuna - Saag Ahloo - 2 Naans Would highly recommend this place, and will be my go-to Indian for the foreseeable future

Our food was very delicious- the best Indian we have EVER had, but it was a lot later than the original time we were given.

Enjoyed my king prawn jalfrezi so much yesterday that I ordered another one today! As a little treat! Delicious food, arrived quite hot and on time. Along with the jalfrezi I ordered pilau rice and peshwari naan. Very enjoyable!

Chicken tandoori was delicious

We had a £200 order at Eid and asked for medium spice level. But unfortunately all the curries were sweetish and all the lamb orders were uncooked, smell of meat, and tasted like hell. It was a total waste of money for us! Highly disappointed. I hope the manager reads it and improves things! Only malai chicken and seikh kebab salan was eatable. Threw many lamb packages in the bin ultimately.

Excellent, tasty and well spiced curries as ever and good value since you can bring your own alcoholic drinks. The service is a bit haphazard and the chicken and veggie Dhansaks were mixed up.

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Gulab Indian Kitchen. Not only was the food splendid (I went for a chicken Passanda, a mild dish that was absolutely delicious), but also the service couldn't have been better. Our waiter, Rahman, provided the best service, and he even added to our experience a very nice starter (I forgot the name) and an extra naan with coconut, both things on the house. Of course, there were not too many tables that night, otherwise I doubt that would have been possible... Highly recommended!

The takeaway I ordered for a few days hence, arrived late in the evening I ordered it (Wednesday, when it wasn't wanted) and not on Friday when it was needed and which was confirmed in their email. No response to 2 emails asking for compensation.

Food is very good. We went for a Set Menu buffet. It was too much food for the 4 of us. Unfortunately, we had to leave it behind, which is a shame. Food is tasty and good quality. Not sure why there are no customers at all. Maybe due Bank Holiday weekend

Excellent portion sizes, quick and easy order via just eat. Don't know if you have a new chef or recipe/way of cooking some of your curries but the chicken tikka masala tasted slightly different to when I've ordered it in the past. Don't know if it's because you're leaving what I assume are curry leaves in the sauce. Just didn't taste the same, prefer how it used to be made. However still nice food and definitely will not stop me from ordering from you again. Also any chance of getting pakoras added to the just eat app menu as they're on your menu in the restaurant but not on just eat.

I was aggressively verbally assaulted by the delivery driver when I expressed reasonable frustration at him not being able to find the house I was situated in and refused to come out and find him several roads away. I tried to de-escalate the situation as he began to scream and threaten me. This did not work. I then hung up. I would not recommend the takeaway delivery experience. If I do not receive a refund for the order I never received, I will pursue legal action.

The delivery driver could not find us and when I expressed frustration at this, he started screaming and swearing down the phone and asked me to come out and fight him. He was clearly very mentally unwell and represented the establishment very badly. This reflects the establishment itself and I would therefore recommend that you avoid ordering a takeaway delivery from here as they do not properly vet their delivery drivers. They hire psychopaths.

Ordered a takeout as a birtday family meal.spent almost 60 pounds only for missing items. Rang restaurtant as deliver driver had already left. Only to be told by manager that cant come out again as they are busy. And they cant give refund for missing item as they did pack the items. Very rude and selfish. Karna will get u. Food was disgusting made and and rushed as delivery was very fast. Should of just gone to my mums and stick to her Indian cooking. Will never order from this greedy restaurant again.

Thus place is an absolute gem. You get taken care of so well, the lovely staff check in on you and are so nice and accommodating, and make you feel really special, the food is delicious, service is fast without being rushed, and the Sunday...

The food was delivered very quickly by a friendly driver which was great (even though it was 30 minutes ahead of the estimated time). However the restaurant forgot to include rice with the curry dish and upon calling they argued with me that it doesn't come with rice and rudely hung up (the menu clearly states the dish includes rice). I have ordered from this restaurant for several years and this was by far the worst order to date. Not only did they forget the rice, the naan was stale and the curry was watery. All of the dishes were substantially worse than previous orders. I'll no longer be ordering from this restaurant.
