The best restaurants in Derbyshire Dales East Midlands

This was a 50th Birthday celebration meal and some of the tasting courses were disappointing. We had bbq lettuce which just tasted burnt and very strong tasting trout with cucumber which was terrible. It was very expensive for what we received. We had mentioned upon booking that it was a 50th Birthday and all they did was stick a candle in a blob of ice cream, not a Happy Birthday written in chocolate or even a strawberry to make it look special.

Popped in again for refreshments briefly whilst out cycling. Every time I go in I’m met with a smile from the friendly staff and owners. Love this place and its position in the village is great for people watching. Today I had an oat flat white and a piece of amazing tortilla. Thanks again.

Had an amazing meal last night at an absolute gem of a place here in North Derbyshire. Afro-Caribbean menu all freshly prepared and served in her kitchen. The food was truly authentic and delicious. Sat in her conservatory with Caribbean music playing in the background really made it a great experience.

this place is a little gem! We visited here a couple of time during our stay in Youlgreave. The coffee is good, but the cake .... oh my!!! Incredible cake and the most generous portions!! 1they slice I had lasted me 2 days, perfect! The staff are so nice, gave us cardboard to sit on as the benches were wet. If they did delivery I'd be the size of a house, ha!

Highly recommend!!! Breakfast was cooked to perfection and even catered for me being Gluten Free. Will definitely be visiting again soon 🙂

We really enjoyed our two nights. Very well looked after and fed. The decor is in keeping with the house. Lots of original features and William Morris wallpaper.!

Visited this cafe whilst in Pocklington for the Christmas markets on Saturday. What a beautiful place it is. The staff were great and so accommodating, especially for how busy it was! Added bonus - the coffee was beautiful!

We had a dinner here and everything was excellent. The food delicious, varied menu, reasonably priced and lovely staff. Really recommend supporting this family run restaurant.

Like many other regulars I was more than a little apprehensive when the business was sold in July. Fortunately it's been business as usual under Lambton's new owner. The coffee remains excellent, the bread and cakes are excellent and there are a host of unique, quality food options on the shelves. It's my go to place for gifts for foodie friends.

Coffee great. Location great. Staff great. Toilets grim - needs a good deep clean ! Needs more attention to small details maybe.

We arrived in Bakewell for an overnight stay and was searching for some pastries to take back to our room and came across this wonderful bakery, The Cornish Bakery in Bakewell. What a wonderful pleasant visit . The person who served us is called Ayr. What a lovely young man so helpful kind and pleasant

We booked here for Sunday lunch whilst staying in Eyam for the weekend. The place is beautifully decorated and the staff offered a warm welcome. Unfortunately after booking for 5pm, there were several.items from the Sunday lunch menu missing due to them having a busy day which was a little bit disappointing but 5 of us ordered the beef roast and we were all exceptionally delighted with the presentation and taste of our food. Lovely vegetables, extra gravy served as standard and overall a delicious meal. The service was great too. We would highly recommend 👌

We visit this restaurant several times a year, to sample each menu. The food, service and ambiance are simply outstanding and our visit last night for the Indian themed menu was possibly our best yet. This is a talented young chef at the top of his game with a great team around him. The expansion plans to take over the whole building are very exciting. Thanks George and the Tasting Club team - we will be back!
