We had a dinner here and everything was excellent. The food delicious, varied menu, reasonably priced and lovely staff. Really recommend supporting this family run restaurant.

The atmosphere as soon as you walked in was welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our server was lovely and despite being busy, always had time to answer questions with a smile. We had the steak and they were so flavoursome, mine was the best steak I have eaten for a very long time and cooked to perfection. I declined the peas and had a salad instead. I expected the usual of a few lettuce leaves, a bit of cucumber and a tomato but the salad was a meal in itself and was fresh and crisp. It was a lovely meal and was cooked fresh to order, as you could see the chef behind the counter; despite this, we didn’t have to wait very long for it either. We spoke to a few other people and found them to all be local. They had ordered the Sunday roast and there are not enough words to describe the feast they enjoyed. Millers is a family run business and it shows with the quality of service and ingredients. If in Matlock, please visit as you will not be disappointed.

Went out to celebrate my husbands birthday to Millers, staff super friendly, food out of this world, cocktails amazing. Highly recommended. We have traveled from Suffolk

We’d booked a table to meet friends and it didn’t appear that we’d needed to do so even though it was a Saturday night as there were only two other tables occupied when we arrived. One other table was taken after we sat down and then weirdly they started turning people away even though there were empty tables and then eventually it was just our table. The restaurant has a very ‘cafe’ decor / setting and is not special and neither was the service. The waitress/ owner? seemed disinterested all evening. Whilst the food was good, it’s not a place to recommend if you want an eating experience only if you want food. My score is based on the food, if I based it more on the experience / setting and more importantly; service, it would definitely be 3/5. As soon as we left, the doors were locked and lights off even though it wasn’t closing time and that’s maybe why they were turning people away. Ironically, on Facebook now, they are saying tell us if you’re not coming as they are turning people away. When we went they were turning people away even though the place was nearly empty.

Had a lovely breakfast, very nice helpful and pleasant staff, the menu for breakfast and meals was very extensive, also a good choice of drinks and cocktails. Well worth a visit.

Visited Millers on a Sunday lunchtime. We had booked but there was probably no need as there were only 3 other parties apart from us in there. It was a really hot day though & Matlock town itself was pretty quiet. Millers is easy to find on one of the main roads through the centre of Matlock with plenty of public car parks close by. Tastefully decorated & very clean. The main menu is available on Sundays along with their Sunday roast. Food was freshly cooked to order & portions are huge!! I would definitely go there hungry. My only very small criticism would be with regard to the service. Our server was pleasant enough but I did feel as though she was going through the motions & did not feel particularly welcome as a diner. In mitigation, the lady who was serving as we were about to leave was very friendly. In summary, Millers is a good place to go if you want straightforward food cooked well at a reasonable price.

We reserved a table for an evening meal. Small place. Friendly staff. Mains took almost an hour to be served. Our dishes were tasty; fries and chips were full of flavour. My children struggled to finish their meals; portion sizes were a bit big. My daughter did not enjoy her pizza from the children's menu.

We are a family of mixed ages and we felt welcomed straight away. The high chair provided was above average for most restaurants, it was comfortable and able to fit in with the table with us. Some of the menu wasn’t available but the choices that were left were adequate. The meals were hot, plentiful and tasty. The restaurant was clean, especially the toilets which is a big plus where food is served. Thoroughly recommend.

Wouldn't normally pay £9.95 for a breakfast, but it was worth every penny: tons of food, including every item you could want on a cooked breakfast, plus tea or coffee. Plus friendly staff and great tea cosies knitted by one of their Nans 😊

The “must go to” breakfast place in Matlock. The “All you can eat” breakfast was stupendous, beautifully cooked and presented and a very reasonable price too. Excellent service and decor. Warning, after this breakfast you probably won’t want to eat anything at all for the rest of the day!

We came to Matlock for the day and had lunch in millers bar and grill , I’m gluten intolerant and the chef was so accommodating it was great I had a peppercorn sauce made especially for me and it was one the best meals I’ve had in a long time . So nice to have the chance to eat in a restaurant that is not part of a chain and offers a great customer service and the feeling that your custom matters . Thank you.

Wonderful care and attention to our meal. All of our party enjoyed the food, standout meal- pie of the day, blue mountain steak and chicken burger for the youngest. Will make a return visit, worth a day trip just for the food.

We first ate here last summer after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor and certainly was not disappointed. The steak was cooked to perfection, as was the rest of the meal. We specially made a point of eating there this time we were visiting the area. Again, the food certainly was just as good as last time. The steak again was perfect & tasty as were the baby ribs., and the chips are absolutely delicious. The portion sizes are more than generous but the food is so tasty that we did not want to leave any. The service is so friendly and attentive, but never at any point overbearing. We felt so relaxed whilst choosing & eating. We will definitely be back when we visit the area again and wish them all the luck in the world, in these turbulent times, as they haven’t had the best start. Thank you again for a lovely meal.
