This woman is not the ideal person to run a business, she ignored me the first time I went in as she was on the phone to a bank, then the next time I came back an hour later she was so flus=stered she spoke to me like I was not wanted in there ...... this is the 4th time I have tried to visit this cafe and she has been rude every time , the post office is dirty and needs a complete re-fit - awful and I would never go back

Don’t be put off by the smell of cat spray on the way in!!! I was a bit dubious but the food was good. It looked average when it came out, everything in pots, chips, peas, rice (why?) but good portions. It looked deep fried and a bit over cooked but everyone agreed it all tasted good. Very friendly to dogs and a resident dog and at least a couple of cats. I think the land lady / manager could look stern, but I think she was just checking everything was ok and when I chatted to her she warmed up and was friendly. We will be back!

Arrived after 2pm with my 90 y old Mum and my dog on a Thursday Mum ordered the Scampi the Menu described 12 Scampi but only 11 arrived the waitress did rectify this and gave us an xtra one for luck. When I ordered I asked did they have Sirloin steak the lady taken my order said yes I have had the Sirloin steak on two previous visits when my meal arrived it was Rump Steak if I'd known there was no Sirloin I would not have ordered Rump , the food was fine but the attention to detail was poor i regularly pass by as I live in Pembs but work at Glangwilli.

Me and a group of friends ate last night and had really nice food, having the pie of the day which was chicken and mushroom. The atmosphere inside was also nice and quiet and allowed us to have a conversation between each other. I was left disappointed after our main meals we were left waiting for someone to take our desert orders. When I questioned the bar staff if someone was going to, we were informed the kitchen was closed at 8:30. No one mentioned this to us when taking our mains order if we would like to take deserts so we could have them due to the kitchen closing early. I did ask if it was possible to have any and replied with kitchen is closed. (Used to work as a chef so even when kitchen was closed deserts were normally able to be made) I felt we would have had a few more drinks and with deserts so would of spent more money, I dont normally write reviews however wasn't happy when I left, we were overlooked due to a wedding going on.

Visited this pub while on a solo break away with my dog a couple of weeks ago and it was a fantastic atmosphere, great service, lovely food and I have to give the highest praise to the lady (who I think was a manager or supervisor) (gutted I didn’t catch her name) but she was so friendly and welcoming, she made a fuss of my dog even giving her some doggie treats which went down (a treat) 😆would definitely recommend this place and will be sure to visit again next time I’m passing!!

Awful - avoid at ALL cost! Came for a drink here and decided to stay for a meal in the restaurant. Mistake number 1. 5 of us seemed to be an issue in a half empty restaurant. My sister ordered a mushroom ravioli for starter(from the vegetarian menu) they then came back to stay they had swapped the mushroom ravioli for LAMB RAGU. FOR A VEGETARIAN. Starters took 40 mins to arrive, one didn’t arrive with the other 4 (my mum being polite told us to eat ours whilst she waited for hers) I was done with mine before my mums arrived, no apology for the wait. Then took a while to clear our starters and a further wait for our mains. If it wasn’t bad so far… it gets worse. We ordered a bottle of wine for the table which the bartender brought over, poured our wine and then left them on the other end of the table (5 of us on a table for 8) Mains arrived; fish and chips, a mountain of over cooked poor quality frozen chips. Chicken and chips, again shop bought chips and burnt dry chicken. And the worst of all; the mushroom tagliatelle, inedible. Disgustingly oily and overpowering herby. Priced at £17.99 but then an additional £8 for 3 slices of dry chicken. No check backs on the food and no one came to offer desserts, not that we would have had them, we would however have asked for the bill to the table. No we had to find the manager who told us we’d have to go over to the till if we wanted to pay the bill. The hotel itself is run down and tired looking. Toilets weren’t pleasant. Definitely not 4 start. Overall, poor service and poor food in a dated setting with a high price tag. Avoid

We had lunch on a Wednesday, both of us having Baked Potatoes, one with Beans & Cheese, the other with Coronation Chicken, followed by Cherry Pie & Custard with Coffee. It was delicious & the potatoes were beautifully cooked. The staff were attentive & efficient. This is a lovely place for lunch - Highly recommended.
