Me and my mam visited for dinner last night, the food it self was lovely. Only thing we thought was there’s not much of a selection on the menu. But over all was a nice evening. And staff was lovely and helpful 10/10 for staff.

Ten of us went there last night to celebrate a birthday. The meal was mediocre but the waiting staff lovely. After everyone had finished paying, the manager asked us to leave the table as other people needed it to eat. There was nowhere to sit so left standing carrying a pile of birthday presents and his attitude was, go outside then. At 8pm it was too cold to sit outside. Don't think we will be eating there again.

A good quality tasty breakfast was required. Had visited the LN a couple of weeks before and was impressed, decided to try again. LN didn’t disappoint, quality breakfasts all round, cooked to perfection. Probably the best poached eggs I have ever had. Lovely layout and relaxed feeling with the venue and friendly service. I must say it’s got to be up there with the highest quality cooked breakfasts that I have ever had, we will return. Highly recommended.

I met a friend at the Nelson without booking, I ordered a starter as a light meal, creamy mushrooms on toast, it was well presented and tasty. The staff were friendly and service was speedy.

First impressions count we spent a week here and given by the photo’s on the website, was expecting it to be quite luxurious. We were greeted with broken glass panes in the front door, a very dark interior and despite several staff members walking past my partner, quite a while to be acknowledged at reception despite ringing the bell. Our room was on the second floor. The banister does not feel stable, there is a lot of movement which was a little unsettling. The room itself was lovely and big with a comfy bed but the carpet was heavily stained which was very offputting. Small windows that you had to stand at to see the view. First impressions were disappointing. So much so that we were looking online for somewhere else to stay instead. As the week wore on the place grew on us, the staff were very pleasant, the breakfasts were fabulous, despite running out of staple items on two occasions (with a Tesco just down the road) the area also was great. We were glad we hadn’t gone elsewhere. Housekeeping was disappointing however, one bath towel between two people, a stained and dirty towel put in main room to be collected just hung back up again with stains still on, not enough shower gel for two people left. Once you can see past the negatives; which we did manage to as the week before wore on,it is a pleasant place to stay. Please sort the carpet and banisters out though.

Wow. The food was outstanding, everything cooked to perfection, presentation amazing. Great compliments to the chef. Highly recommend. Will definitely return

I had to explain the menu to the waitress, she didn’t believe me and checked with the kitchen that the vegan meal didn’t come with chicken… it says on the menu it’s vegan so why would she think it had chicken in it?! Very strange. I ordered chips and they didn’t come. There was an arrogant looking man wandering around being cocky, assume he was the boss as he was behind the bar at one point. It’s so dark in there, not very welcoming, food took longer than expecting for a sandwich and forgotten chips.

Well and truly impressed, got to say it was the best Sunday dinner I’ve had in Pembrokeshire, the staff were attentive and friendly, hotel has beautiful decor, will be booking to go back very soon

Never usually have a problem picking from a menu but sadly there was just nothing for me. I do not like high calorie meals and there were no salads, jacket potato etc available. Admittedly we visited on a dull rainy day but it is just so dark inside. Do not like the decor at all, but each to their own!

First time in the newly refurbished Lord Nelson and can't say that I was very impressed. Struggled to find anything that I fancied on the menu and ended up with the fish and chips which was ok. Most people were outside as it was a warm night however on a normal damp night the bar would be crowded with drinkers and so not too ideal to dine in. Coco's the owners former restaurant had a much better menu which has not carried over to the LN. Sadly can't see myself going back.

Selected this restaurant for our last holiday night in the area, big mistake.The food was simply awful.Not sure how burger meat becomes tough,it was inedible,the bap was stale, the toppings were just a mush Chicken was dry,steak overdone ,vegetables overdone , butter tasted like stork margarine.The only meals in our party which were ok were the hallomi salad and a child’s meal.Standard of restaurant food in this area wasn’t great, but this surpassed the others .

We loved Coco's which has been closed by the owners and they have taken over the Nelson. I'm wondering if it's teething problems but we we're disappointed, it lacks the atmosphere that Coco's did. The food is still good, but the dinning room is awkward seating,sat by the toilets and asked to move as the smell was coming out, definitely puts you off eating. The bar is badly positioned with staff hanging around there makes it all a bit uncomfortable. It's a completely different enterprise to Coco's I understand that, but I really feel it's got a lot to live up to and it doesn't compare. It doesn't feel special, just another pub. Will probably still go as we enjoyed our meal but it's definitely not Coco's!

Was so looking forward to visiting the newly refurbished Lord Nelson. Sad to say it was so dark inside, with walls and ceiling painted purple. We looked at the menu only to find there was no low calorie meal available for me. No jacket potatoes, salad etc. My husband ordered a sandwich with a side of chips, which was ok, whilst I sat with my drink. We did ask the waitress if there was something low calorie but she replied no. We sat on table No 8 right by a door which constantly slammed shut. All it needed was a couple of screws and it would have been fixed. Ending on a positive the staff were helpful and it was clean.

First of all the decor inside is lovely , it’s been really well renovated . The menu is very limited to start with and it gave me an impression of a Wetherspoons or Lost coins choice . After waiting for 50 mins , our food arrive d , I said to my husband we should send it all back , the food looked awful and there was very little in the plate , I ordered battered cod and I asked the waitress if it was a frozen one out of a box it was inedible and my chips were very undercooked , they didn’t charge for mine , we told them how disappointing the meal was and it’s a shame because we won’t ever eat there again , the chips on my family’s plate looked like they’d been collected from the chip shop and left in the wrapper , certainly not worth £16.95 . It’s such a shame .

Visited for lunch. The place has been recently taken over and had had some extensive works done. Beautifully decorated albeit a bit dark in areas. The toilets however were dirty which was a dissapointment. The food, the food was nice, normal pub grub. The service, well firstly we were asked 4 times if everything was OK, I feel we only needed to be asked once, it got quite annoying when the staff kept coming back and for to ask. We also had to ask for sugar for the tea and salt and pepper as there is none on the tables. We also had to ask for spoons for our desserts as the desserts were put in the table without cutlery and the waitress walked off without even acknowledging we had no cutlery. Apart from that a nice visit.

A four night stay with our dog, arrived to a very warm welcome and given a lovely room over looking the marina. It was clean, very spacious with comfortable beds and had everything we needed. The hotel itself could do with a make over as looking a bit tired but was reasonably priced. The people who run it were lovely and staff also friendly. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Called in on the visit to the shopping center. Staff and drinks were excellent in a pleasant atmosphere. Nice place will call again

Ordered a burger, chips came out partially. Cooked.like they had been put in oil that wasn't hot enough, burger was missing the Cheese and pickles, sent the chips back they, came back out a feaw minutes later STILL Undercooked! Cooking chips is such a basic thing to get right it's shocking that having being sent back, the kitchen were still unable to fulfill this basic function. We used to eat here often. We tend not to bother now for obvious reasons. It's such a shame as the place could be so good. Having eaten at Brains pubs in Llanelli and Newquay recently The Nelson is falling far short of other Brains establishments the beer selection and the staff are fine it's.always issues with food here, looking at the reviews it isn't just.me that has issue with this.

Went to Lord Nelson as a group of 7 for Sunday lunch, there was only one other group of people in at the time and they weren’t eating so it wasn’t busy. Waited nearly an hour for our food to arrive which was stone cold by the time we got it. We were only given one small gravy boat to share between all 7 of us which was also cold. The veg was also cold and very dry, which seemed as if it had been taken out of the freezer and quickly warmed up. One of us ordered a fish and chips which when it arrived had to be sent back and asked for a refund due to the chips being burned to a crisp which wasn’t immediately noticeable as the fish had been placed on top of them. Was extremely disappointing as the food tasted ok but was not edible due to it being so cold. Would not recommend and will not be returning.

Went to Lord Nelson Milford haven for Xmas dinner.Arrived at 7 the room was absolutely freezing , and kept the same all nightNext the meal except from starter was the worst I have ever had. Menu Starter okMains turkey or beef xmas dinner plates, meat ,and all veg cold .DesertTart just ok crembrule load of mush in dish.Then to cap it all cold mince pies on a warm plate and no coffeeDefinitely not worth £25.The only good thing of the night was the entertainment .Needless to say would not recommend this venue and will definitely not be returning.

We stayed on a very wet weekend in November. Our room, the Nelson suite, was large, comfortably furnished and had a great view out over the marina. The hotel is located on one of the main roads through Milford Haven but we were not disturbed at all by any traffic noise. We ate one evening meal in the hotel restaurant on Friday evening. The food was fine but there seemed to be very few diners whilst we were there. We were surprised how quiet it was because we were advised to book. But the menu was great and the quality of food fine. . . Though some parts of the meal could have been hotter. Breakfast at the hotel was fine. Good quality bacon and sausage served by one of the waitresses. To summarise, if we went to Milford Haven again, we'd stay at the Lord Nelson.

We book a function room for an event room was clean and tidy we paid for a buffet but in the day no sweet cakes etc came out. When paying the next day we were told that they hadn’t been delivered so didn’t have any. Disappointed that we weren’t told on the night. Was offered a discount but really not what we wanted

The room was OK, very limit menu in the bar area. I would not choose this hotel next time I visit Milford Haven.

One of the best hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. The room was large and very clean and tidy. Plenty of chose at breakfast and at dinner time. The evening menu even catered for Vegans and Bouton free as well. The view over the marina was spectacular, particularly at night.

The Lord Nelson. Is the best hotel in Milford Have, located overlooking the sea and central for to the shops. My stay was perfect the bedrooms are clean and a good size, nice view out to sea and nice deco through the hotel. The food in the hotel restaurant was very good and the free entertainment in the evening was an added bonus. The breakfast in the morning was also really good with plenty of choice. I thought all the staff and managers at the hotel were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Milford Haven or the surrounding area, or just make use of the restaurant and bar.

One of the young staff members made us get our own glass of water then once we chose our table it took us numerous amount of nagging for him to come clean the table and the young staff member Nathan Swan is clearly unqualified to serve behind the bar

Our initial impressions were that this should be a pleasant stay, We were told breakfast would be served between 8-10 and not at any other time.Unfortunately it then started to go wrong that night. After being there an hour our electronic room key failed which was then put right by one of the bar staff as the reception is only manned during peak times.The food in the bar that night was great and very reasonably priced and quick (Friday night) The second day we decided to eat in again. I ordered a cheese burger for my wife off the menu but the guy behind the bar was struggling to find it on his till thing. After eventually asking a colleague he finally got it ordered. It then arrived with no cheese !!!! After speaking to another member of staff about it as well as the guy that served us we gave up asking as a table opposite were also having problems with there meals. (Saturday night). Sunday morning at 9.00 we went to have breakfast and they had no orange juice. We waited 45 mins for it to arrive. The breakfast was poor and the staff member was flying about trying to do everything as he and the chef were the only ones in. Sunday evening we were late getting back (11 pm) and the doors were locked. I banged on a window and the night guy eventually came and said they were locked because there was a drunk hanging about. Again our key failed and he had to let us in with the master key as he could not give us a replacement. It was now 11.30. Monday morning at 9.05 am we went down for breakfast only to find still no orange juice and that they stopped serving at 9.00. We had been up since 7.00 and I had made 3-4 trips back and forward to my car loading bags each time passing reception. Nothing was mentioned about breakfast finishing at 9.00. We decided to pay the bill and leave. There were two members of staff at reception and one said they would get the chef to do us something to eat in which we declined as we just wanted to leave the place. The other member of staff said she would find out who was on reception Friday evening when we arrived and ask her about the breakfast times....... Not that it would make any difference to us !!!!

Arrived for a late lunch about 3pm and the full menu was offered. Very good food and really pleasant and helpful bar staff. Great recorded music too!

The one staff member we dealt with was friendly and efficient but this place needs a manager. All the menus on the tables were all sticky and smelt of beer - that must be hard to do but they did it! Food was cold when it hit the table and once or twice I had to seek the staff out who were having a nice group chat and hang out. Perhaps this place could do with a manager to ensure the extra effort to take this place from poor to decent would be a good idea. Slack.

I have been here quite a few times before with family, friends, children and everytime I couldn't fault it. Brilliant selection of food, food always tasted lovely, and customer service fine. This time eating well was such a huge difference. I don't know if they have a new chef or what not because the food certainly was not lovely. The food itself was quite bland. The salad was warm, the peppercorn sauce seemed more like gravy with some peppercorns chucked in. I was disappointed that the best part was the onion rings and the chips. We had ordered 2x garlic breads 1 with cheese & 1 without, they both came with cheese. I gave mine to my partner as I can't eat cheese. My partner order a drink at the bar and the barman gave him the wrong drink. I think in the future we will be eating elsewhere unfortunately.

just spent a week at the Lord Nelson for the second time and wont be returning the staff work hard around the place but the mnagement of the hotel is rubbish, checked in on sat 22/06/19 only staff member availible running the bar,reception and serving food was Jake this guy is amazing and works so hard, so after a 6 hour drive we could not get checked in quickly or get near the bar to order food the que was ridiculous, 5 mornings out of 6 breakfeast ingredients were missing from the menu simpe things like toast and beans utter chaos !

Visited with friends. Ordered food and Pepsi. When tried the Pepsi it tasted like diet. Ask and told it was coke zero; which wasnt what we ordered. When complained only offered a replacement of lemonade or diet which we did not want. When food came its was horrid and clearly not fresh. Bacon was solid and had been cooked long before ordered. Lettuce was off and already going brown. Meat was dry, both the chicken and the 'gourmet' burger. - which didn't come with what it stated on menu. When complained to the manager they did not offer replacement food and told us it was fresh.

Few drinks with mates and we all had a burger off the main menu, decent food and service and comfy well appointed seating etc, would recommend.

We stayed here for 1 night during our holiday journeying around Wales. The Lord Nelson Suite was well appointed and very spacious. Views were outstanding and the heating was comfortable. We both had a great nights sleep and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The Staff upon checkin and breakfast were both helpful & courteous. A bonus was the private parking and other hotel facilities. Close to the Harbour, Museum and town. Well worth the stay and great value.

We often stop in after work for a meal or lunch time on a weekend, the staff are friendly and attentive, the place is clean and well presented. Love the new vegan and vegetarian menu too 😀

A group of 28 of us travelled up to Wales from Southampton, England. Although this is a fairly small hotel, they managed our booking very well.

Great location. Ample parking Large sea view room with extra seating area. Freshly cooked breakfast Great value for money

Stayed here for one night for work, stayed in room 101 the heating was on all night in the corridor blasting full which penetrated the room making it extremely stuffy. Room dated and no light working in bathroom. Are in pub the food was average, had fish pie which came with frozen microwaved veg which was like warm. Had to ask for a receipt twice as had ran out of till Roll. Overall disappointing as website looked good.

Cai and Bethan, what can I say?! Their customer service is impeccable! They are so friendly and lovely. The food is basic pub grub and the drink are slightly expensive but their service all the more made up for it. I love coming here for a good chat.

Lovely meal very filling helped that you had the football on and my sons could watch it while eating although the result left a bitter taste unlike the food.

The staff at Lord Nelson Hotel went above and beyond for our family on 8/15/18. We arrived late, in miserable weather. There was a mix up with a third party reservation company, but the Staff, especially Rob, did everything to make it right. I would recommend this hotel to any travelers headed to south Wales!!

Have visited here 3 times now twice for Sunday lunch which is outstanding so we came for lunch today and it didn’t disappoint again food was very tasty and good portions staff are very friendly they just need a few more staff and the place would be a 10 out of 10

I stopped in the bar at the hotel during my stop on a cruise. I always enjoy sampling local beers and the young woman at the bar was very helpful! She let me sample 3 types to pick the one I liked! We had a great discussion about both beer and all the gins available now in the UK! I wasn’t hungry (cruise ship side effect), but the food I saw come out looked good. I’d definitely recommend this as a great place to pop in for a drink! Thanks for the WiFi too!

After hearing good things we were child free this afternoon we chose to visit we were told to choose a table and order at the bar. Most the tables still had 80th confetti on as we walked in there was a plate sat on the table which was still there 1.5 hours later. Wait for food was nearly an hour considering there was only about 10 people there. One girl ok the bar who walked off to help carry food out within that way one a couple come in and waited and left due to nobody at the bar. When our food eventually come the steak we ordered well done was burnt but pink inside which put me off but I’d waited so long I had to eat it! Upon leaving I would’ve mentioned to staff but nobody was to be seen.

Good selection of food which was cooked to a very good standard. Well kept beer, I drank the Rev James Gold.

A very clean hotel overlooking the harbour and situated on Hamilton Terrace (promenade) the staff very friendly and nothing to much trouble they took our cases up to the room (hence no lift) the stairs are split level with a landing half way so they are not bad to climb. The room was a good size with views of harbour/marina the on suite was clean and fresh and there was the normal tea making facilities. It was nice to see that the window was a upvc double glazed sash so no noise. The hotel offers wedding ceremony so when booking your room ask for the quieter side of the hotel otherwise all ok, meals good a good range of drinks (Jake was very helpfull if you needed anything) a good place to stay.

I've taken my fiance here a couple of times for food and the experience has been wonderful each time.

Well it's hard to fault the restaurant in the lord Nelson Usually a value deal every night that's far cheaper than the standard meals so a genuine saving rather than extra cheap dishes that are of dubious quality

Wow! The food may not be anything special and be just normal pub grub (still nice though) but the service by Bobby the bar man all the more made up for it. He was friendly and jokey and was willing to do anything you asked.

I visit The Lord Nelson with friends for Sunday lunch, every week, The meals are always piping hot, plentiful and well presented, with a good selection of vegetables..

We stayed here for a Xmas party in December on arrival we waited nearly 15 minuets before we could check in and that’s only because I went to the bar and asked the bar man to get somebody! The room was lovely but had no hairdryer so had to phone to get one! I drink prosecco but gave up because everyone I tried was flat no bubbles at all! The evening party the food was ok not the greatest the service was very slow it took 2 hours to serve 3 course! Thank god for the entertainment it saved the night the singer and comedian was fantastic! This hotel is seriously under staffed!!

Where to start!! Visited early evening with my daughter, son-in-law and my two grand children aged 4 years and 6 years.For being a hotel the reception counter was noticeably unattended and prior to our visit we had tried many times to phone the hotel without success. The bar did not stock the drink I ordered however I suspect the tomato juice could have been found in the kitchen? The meals were served without any garnish or attempt to present the meal in such an appealing manner. The children's pizza was cold and my cod in batter was not good....the cod was OK if a little overcooked however the batter was disgusting! The young waiter was a little odd when he asked for the tomato ketchup from our table when the adjacent table was without customers and had ketchup just sitting there. Not a meal I enjoyed and I doubt I shall make a return visit to the Lord Nelson
