Cracking hotel with a great owner(Karen) and staff, nothing was to much trouble.Gave spot on information regarding the train times(station 30 second walk away)Ditto taxi info.Ate evening meal twice and was good quality at an affordable price, breakfast was also very good and plentiful. My room was clean and warm on arrival and everything worked as it should. This is a short walk from the golden beach, through the golf course, you can then take a leisurely stroll into Tenby. All in all a fantastic stay and will be back. The hotel really is in a prime spot to explore the coast all the way to Pembroke and beyond. Remember, diesel on the chain.

We’ve been to Whitesands Bay quite a few times and seen the cafe, but we’d never popped in - until this week. We only had a couple of cups of tea and a portion of chips, but they were lovely; so much so, that my other half said they were the nicest chips she’d ever had! The prices were also very reasonable. It’s very handy that they allow dogs in to the place as we had our 15 year old Jack Russell with us. I also have to give a mention to the staff who were extremely friendly and totally customer focussed. All in all, this was a lovely ‘find’ for us, and we will definitely go back.

I did not enjoy my meal due to the over excess of salt which had been added on my fries, this had also gone onto the rest of my food. Why add salt to customers food? It should be the customers choice to add their own salt I left most of my food as it was inedible I did tell the staff member Will this be taken onboard! I certainly won't return

When we lived in Tycroes our favorite Chippie was on the square and regularly had fish and chips, my wife loved that old welsh favorite the rissole and theirs was one of the best. When ever we came back from SA this was our first night meal. Sadly this shop closed down many years ago and we never found another to match it. That was until on one visit we were told to go to the Ocean Blue in Tycroes. Well I'm not sure if they have the same recipe, but my wife finally found a Rissole. Now whenever we are back in Ammanford this is always a visit we look forward to. You can order and then come and pick it up, which is a great advantage. Even if you call in the staff are really friendly and chatty. Just a great old fasioned fish and chip shop with all the modern touches. Not only are their rissoles great, but they have a very extensive menu. I had fish, pies, pasties with my chips and they were all great. As long as Ocean Blue is there we will definitely make it our first stop when home in Wales.

We sometimes stay at the hotel and have now tried eating at the restaurant twice. On both occasions we have been sorely disappointed. We had lunch there today and tried a mushroom tagliatelle served with garlic bread. The foods not cheap at 15 quid a go and we were expecting something decent. The first issue was that my garlic bread was cremated so I sent it back. Secondly the whole plate was so bland it was almost tasteless. If you are serving a pasta dish with mushrooms at its centre it needs to sing with the rich taste and interesting textures of mushroom, it needs to be well seasoned, it can be so very good. This dish was none if those things. I did say to the restaurant staff that it was pretty underwhelming but they seemed fairly blasé about the fact. In most good restaurants such poor feedback would illicit serious concern and possibly the attention of a restaurant manager, not so in the copperplate. I can only assume that they care little about the quality of their offering or there is no process for dealing with complaints. Considering a three course meal for two with a bottle of plonk is going to run to three digits in this place it’s really not good enough and I could not recommend.

As foodies we’re always looking to find somewhere better than what we consider first class dining and today we’ve found a new favourite. Sunday lunch perfection perfectly cooked fresh vegetables every mouthful was a delight if you’ve not tried the Pelcomb Inn then your missing out. Cannot fault anything food service and atmosphere. It’s nice to visit somewhere that supports my band I like to repay the compliment well done Nicky. 3MJB

Had a takeaway roast Sunday dinner while camping locally. Opted for the beef dinner. The food was amazing. 3 large slices of beef which were really tender, a crispy Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes & parsnips, stuffing & veg plus a large pot of gravy each. After eating my fill I reheated the remainder over an open fire for supper later. The beef was still tender & I still didn't eat it all, but my dog licked the foil tray clean and also approved. Great price, great food. I camp at Afon Teifi quite often & will definitely be having this again when camping!

Wouldn’t recommend. Tea tasted of chemicals. Not very accommodating asked to move table as couldn’t see for sunshine and no blinds and they weren’t helpful. Breakfast nothing special for the money. I’ve certainly had better. Turning customers away when tables are empty. Slow service

Didn’t disappoint. Lovely meals all served with humongous Yorkshire puds! Lashings of gravy and the cheesy leek dish was the best!
