Four of us stayed here for one night and we unanimously agreed that it was one of the nicest places in which we have ever stayed. It is a lovely old house in lovely grounds with a view across the fields to the sea. We received an exceptionally warm welcome from Tamsin and our rooms were most comfortable with patio doors leading straight out into the garden - a lovely feature. We had drinks in the garden before going in for a lovely meal (a limited but excellent bar menu). The guest lounge was old-worldly comfortable with TV and there was a pool table next door. The whole place was so relaxing and friendly and all on the one level which really suited us. Our beds were very comfortable and the ensuite toilet and shower was excellent. Breakfast was very good. Overall our stay at Broadway House was a lovely experience and we would love to stay there again if the opportunity arose. P.S. They also have very nice pods in which to stay which are open all year round.

The room was absolutely beautiful! Breakfast amazing! However, as a dog owner, I picked this as a dog friendly hotel. It is not in any aspect dog friendly, unless your dog doesn’t bark full stop! My spaniel said hello…as dogs do! Silent within 3 seconds. We were then informed dogs are not allowed to bark! I apologised, as she is in no comprehension a yapper. Basically said hello! 20 minutes later, another person walked into the bar, again (but literally woof, woof…as in 2 barks) the look she gave my dog was disgusting! Personally, I can’t stand barking! We decided to walk to The Carpenters Arms…who also do B&B, but without allowing dogs to stay. They were so welcoming! Adored my dog! And their beer and food is quality and a fraction of the cost. DOG OWNERS AVOID!

Just returned home ,after several nights ,at Broadway House .From booking to leaving, an absolutely delightful experience. The proprietors and all staff are welcoming ,attentive professional and genuine (not over the top !) .All queries were dealt with immediately. The house is situated in a beautiful setting ,within an easy car journey ,to all local tourist destinations. The house is tastefully decorated comfortable and immaculate. Our room was clean and comfortable _I slept very well . The breakfast was excellent ++ .It is cooked to order and maybe the delay other reviews mention is just becouse of this, but honestly by the time drinks etc sorted ,the cooked breakfast arrived .I judge a breakfast on the quality of the produce and this breakfast is a 10/10 _ definitely quality , plenty for me , prepared and presented beautifully. I didnt know what to expect when I booked but I can guarantee there will be return visits 👍🙂

Just spent 3 nights here &, whilst our room was lovely with a distant sea view, we just couldn't decide if it was a hotel or a B&B. On our first evening we popped down to the bar at 8.30 for a drink to find it in darkness & locked (website said 9pm). The bar menu (food served until 8pm) which we took advantage of on our final evening, - couldn't find anything in nearby Laugharne - was very limited. The cajun chicken burger was tasty, if a little dry, but the pizza was soft & flabby in the centre & very bland. Breakfast was ok: fresh fruit cocktail, juices, cereals, but no yogurts, followed by range of cooked including local laverbread & cockles. Bacon was particularly good. Unfortunately, on our final morning our cooked food took 35 mins to arrive from ordering (& we were only the 2nd table to order) & was only warm, not hot - had it been sitting a while? The poor waitress seemed rushed off her feet. For such a lovely, country property, this could be a great hotel, just needs a little more thought & an enterprising mind.

The website gave the impression that it was a fine dining restaurant, and indeed the food was delicious, it was everything else that disappointed. There was no lighting on footpath between car park and restaurant when we arrived, fairly indifferent greeting by staff member, fresh air is fine but the dining room was cold, we arrived at 7.25 but had no food until 8.15, we were left with uncleared finished main course plates for over 10 minutes and had to ask for the desert menu to remind them we were still there - no one took our desert order for another ten minutes, staff just ignored us, worst of all staff started laying tables all round us for breakfast while we were still eating our dinner. I’m sorry but it felt as though we were an inconvenience rather than valued guests. We weren’t being difficult or demanding and just wanted a nice relaxed meal out. Our B and B hosts recommended this restaurant and they were quite upset that we had such a bad experience.

Pretty view from the window but the room was not sound proofed very well could hear everything from both rooms attached. We had to wait to check in and we stayed in room 3 above reception/restaurant. Quite noisy before 10pm no air conditioning no glasses in the room had to get some from the reception but no one to ask for them waited a while no one came so just took from the table Bathroom needs a overhaul sealastic dirty, taps were hard to turn on and off and shower head made water go everywhere, carpet still had fluff on it and a big dirty mark, were in the middle of the pandemic still but didn't look like it had been cleaned properly. Plumbing really noisy and extractor fan dirty, small marks of paint on the wallpaper and only 2 very squisy pillows each no extra available in the room. No do not disturb or do not clean signs and therefore checking 4 star criteria this is not a 4 star at all and it was not cheap to stay here. The wedding venue is a old marque that has seen better days very dated. I know this is a family business but can not see why you are a 4 star when I think I would only give 3 stars. We did not eat in the restaurant we were told that as only 9 tables needs to book but limited menu available Only thing I would say is the breakfast was nice and tasty but had to wait over 20 minutes just for the toast Mattress was very lumpy and uncomfortable so did leave earlier than expected.

We were advised 5 minutes after ordering food there are no chips (fine places run out of things), so we asked for a few minutes to relook at the menu. The waitress then came over again and said actually there is nothing available to order other than pizza and we were given some ridiculous reason about the vegetables not being delivered. Please bear in mind we could see other tables who eating dishes from the main menu, yet we are meant to believe they magically run out of all ingredients bar the ones required to make pizza. We chose to leave and we were not even offered our one drink each on the house.Extremely poor service, very disappointing! First of all, the upside of this hotel. Lovely location and setting, very friendly staff and delicious food. Now the downside. The room was very small (number 6). It was extremely warm and the hotel doesn't provide fans. We kept the windows open at all times, but we were right next to the garden seating, so had people outside our room chatting. Not that it was loud, but it certainly was intrusive. The room was also on the walkway, so everyone had to pass it to go to the bar/restaurant. The plumbing in the bathroom was really noisy, as was the plumbing in the next room. So if someone was running the shower or pulling the flush, we certainly knew about it. The toilet seat was such a bad fit that it moved every time it was used. We could hear the TV in the room next door and there was just no peace. The bed was quite comfortable, but the pillows were definitely not. They were flat and hard and should be replaced. Taking all of the above into account, the room was (in my opinion), overpriced at £196 for two nights. But I must congratulate the owner on his very friendly staff, especially the young woman who looked after us. This hotel could be a delight, but needs a lot of TLC.

We inquired as to what would be available for Gluten/ Dairy we were handed a copy sheet of the menu , which had no information about allergy content and as he had already turned his attention back to what he was doing, he never spoke to us, we were dismissed. Phoned and booked a table - when we arrived they had no knowledge of the booking. The service was not great - they weren’t busy only one other table. The food was very disappointing- one of us had pulled lamb as a starter - it was like the outside of a lamb joint from 3 days ago - very dry and tasteless. The chicken arrived in a pond of purple sauce, the steaks were very gristly- although they were cooked well, and the goats cheese and squash salad was awful. Then just to cap it off we were served gin and tonic in a plastic glass!!! Def would not return or recommend. The only reason we didn’t complain was because we had a voucher.

We booked this restaurant for a very special birthday - my husbands 50th - and had high expectations based on the reviews below. however, it didn't quite hit the mark. The food was good,(the belly pork starter was a little dry but the sea bass was excellent) but we felt that there is better elsewhere locally. However, the main disappointment could have been so easily avoided. I had been in email contact several weeks in advance and maybe I should have taken the delay in reply and the non-forthcoming promised sending of a wine list as a hint, but a little effort at no cost would have gone a long way and I expected a little more from the Broadway.Possibly it was because we were one of only three tables and it was a Wednesday evening. We did get the nice table in the window that we were promised but there was no acknowledgement of the special occasion we were celebrating despite it being clear in the emails making the reservation. There was not even a ' Happy birthday' from the waiter (who was also doubling as reception cover). They just seemed uninterested. Would it have taken much effort to even just pop a candle into my husbands dessert? In all it just felt like a normal meal out and nothing special and that was a shame when we really wanted to have great memories of a special birthday.

In March there are few decent places around Laugharne to eat, so it was with a little trepidation that we went mid-week to the Broadway House, as it specialises in weddings and has an air of one of those places that when empty seems rather barren. The dining room is plain, but a wood fire in the imposing hearth made it more welcoming. The service was local and friendly, not over the top pretentious - and the food? It was very good indeed! I thought we might be in for rather plain standard country hotel fare, but the menu is interesting and the food is well cooked and presented. A real pleasure. The new chef is obviously keen to create an interesting menu and was happy to talk about his ambition. I just hope he does not get swamped in two weddings a week from now on! It is worth the five minute drive from Laugharne.

Attended the hotel for a family wedding. I was so impressed by the hotel, it's location and it's grounds but my impression of it soon came tumbling down. Where do I start... Inadequate seating, inexperienced staff and the main bar closed for a small, half stocked bar to open. The inexperience of the waiting staff lead to food being served cold and incorrectly. It was like watching headless chickens serve food. Nevertheless, due to the simplicity of the starter / dessert and the inability to get them incorrect they were served adequately and the food was lovely. I just wish they had been given some direction regarding the main course as I'm sure it too was cooked well. Although cold, the vegetables appeared fresh and cooked well. What a shame. Probably wouldn't go back out of choice but feel with a little direction and guidance I'm sure the young and inexperienced staff would be able to improve the service and the food.

Booked in for pre-wedding meal with a family group of 12. From the start the attitude of the staff was very poor, it seemed that everything was too much of an effort. There were no children's meal options, when my daughter eventually got an alternative option of vegetarian sausage and chips, even after questioning, it was still charged at full adult price(£9.50). The quality of the food was appalling:- stale bread, over cooked chicken, over microwaved lasagne, the list goes on....definately will not be going there again, very disappointed! 'Hurst House' opposite was a much better experience all round.

I believe the Thomas Arms were going through a reorganisation when we booked our meal, and it was difficult to contact staff. However, they now have changed their contact system to cover the different dept options, so I'm sure this has been resolved. We were a party of 12, at a time when the pub was very busy with the Christmas light celebrations, but the staff seemed to manage well and the table service was very good. The food was good in general, and the starter options of cockles, and the sticky toffee pudding were outstanding. All the staff were very pleasant and attentive

This was a great spot for lunch! We stopped off on spec and I was pleased to see vegan options. I had the vegan burger which was lovely. My parents had the chicken burger and the gammon, and they were equally pleased with the food, the portions and the service. I also had a vegan crumble tart with custard which was delicious! Overall a very pleasant experience, although prices were a little on the high side.

Stopped off here for lunch with my elderly mum and was pleasantly surprised. Whilst the seating was adequate the staff were very friendly and cleared vacated tables promptly. The drinks and food menu’s had plenty of choice and I decided to have the jacket potato with chicken curry which came with a salad garnish. The portion was great and the chicken curry was delicious…mum had a toasted sandwich which came with a small salad, coleslaw and some crisps. Both very reasonably priced and would not hesitate to recommend if you are looking for a lunch time bite. We will return.
