The best restaurants serving British food in Newport South Wales

Absolutely fantastic Sunday dinner, could not fault it. Beef was lovely and roasties were to die for. Best Sunday lunch I have ever had, better than the Ivy. Thankyou very much.

Malpas court social enterprise cafe is amazing The staff are so friendly and nothing is any trouble it feels like home and is such a happy place to be The food is amazing and is like proper home made and the prices are great and so affordable Highly recommend a visit

We had a lovely meal at the farmers arms, I had the chicken tenders which were so crispy and homemade and the burger was so fresh and hardly greasy. The ciabatta was a lovely portion which is big enough for 2 which was a lovely surprise. Would definitely go again

Loved the atmosphere and the food was fantastic. Great menu and so delicious. Very friendly, relaxed and cosy. Loved the French onion soup, Scotch Egg starter, Hake, Lamb, Veg Lasagne, Steak, Lavender Creme Brulee and chocolate mousse. I was all so good..

Great food good service surprised me with the quality of the steaks we had my wife said the best stake she has had in a long time

Very disappointed, the homemade steak and gravy pie has been removed from the menu and replaced with a chip shop meat pie. Which is half the size and no comparison with regard to taste. And to rub salt in the wounds, the same price is being charged as the quality pie. You can not reduce the quality to such an extent and charge the same, then expect yo survive. Bring back the original pie. Going to try the 'Pen and Wig' for our next lunchtime soiree.

This was a great find on our way home from Butlins. Feeling hungover and in need of a good Sunday dinner, we found the Greyhound Inn on Google maps and it was just what we needed. A good traditional Sunday dinner. I had the beef and there was more than enough meat. A lovely big Yorkshire pudding and veg. The biggest gravy boat I've seen so plenty to go between the 4 of us. The staff were so lovely and quick to be served. Would definitely call in again if we are in the area.

Went this morning for a coffee and cake....as we say in London... PROPPER SUPER !!!!

We had an amazing stay this weekend.. my only issue was that the room had no air con but then again as its such a beautiful place i didnt mind! Staff were incredible, great service and really friendly whilst totally professional. Definitely coming back again soon.

My family has usually had good experiences when visiting this cafe, until today… Employees appear to be miserable, they were rude & I get the impression that they don’t want to be there. Also, I have never had a milkshake that is served warm until now.

First time back in after it closed and reopened , a warm welcome was received. I had a steak ,was cooked to perfection, struggled to find anywhere that can cook a steak properly, they achieved it beautifully, my partner had a vegetarian noodle dish also well cooked. We will definitely be regulars for food . Gary
