The Cafe at Beechwood in Newport

My family has usually had good experiences when visiting this cafe, until today… Employees appear to be miserable, they were rude & I get the impression that they don’t want to be there. Also, I have never had a milkshake that is served warm until now.

Never fails… great service, delicious food, great coffee. Coming here for a bacon roll and a cappuccino, sitting and chatting, watching all the dogs… bliss!! Anyone and everyone who comes to visit us is treated to a Sunday breakfast and stroll in the park because this place never fails to please. Highly recommend the bacon roll.

Brilliant cafe in amazing surroundings at Beechwood Park. I’ve been visiting for over 5 years and always had an excellent experience. Great staff and great atmosphere. Usually visit around once a week. Would highly recommend.

Had nice lunch and cake. Could have had more options ie baked potatoes, salads etc. Only one choice of baguette which was white. When you are dieting wasn't a good choice. But the park is fab and enjoyed the walk.

Best coffee. Best service. Best location. The Cafe at Beechwood Park is a gem of a place 💎. The homemade Welsh cakes are particularly highly recommended 😊

Simply the best toasties I have ever tasted in my life and I’ve tasted a lot!! We visited the cafe with family who have young children and found a good spot to sit near the back of the cafe. Wonderful that we could also take our puppy into the cafe as it was raining. Good choice on the menu with plenty to choose from. I went for a hot chocolate which was delicious and ordered a bbq chicken toastie and a ham and cheese toastie and had half and half with my partner. Loaded with filling and simply delicious. I’d like to also note that the place is very clean and tidy and the toilet was also cleaned to a good standard. We’ve lived in Newport for years and cannot believe it took us this long to uncover this little gem. Will certainly be back!!

Lovely coffee, lovely food, lovely view - worth a visit!!! Ordered a bacon roll came with a hash brown not greasy at all all fresh!

I’m a daily customer at The Cafe at Beechwood. I can highly the recommend the cafe whether it’s for a drink or for food. The prices are reasonable and the staff and service is amazing. A lovely atmosphere that always makes you feel welcome.

We visit nearly every day when walking the dog as it's dog friendly, the food, staff and service are all excellent. Good selection of hot and cold drinks also cakes. I personally recommend the chicken & chorizo grilled cheese and our dog would recommend the dog sausages as they are her favourite. 👍

we went for the market on the 19th as we live local good selection of stalls. we went to get food from the cafe a big wait to get served very slow service and not good prices. we had a look around the stalls and brought some lovely brownies to then find out the hot food stalls that were there in the morning had to go as the cafe complained. we wont be going back to the cafe . hopefully the market will be back with the hot food stalls. Great little place tucked away in the park. I can here after an exercise class in the park and it was lovely to be able to have coffee with some other mums. I also met here with friends. Being surrounded by the park is great and they have a good variety of drinks, food and cakes.

Great cafe to visit for refreshments while in the park. Have popped in for treats numerous times in the past few months since the park reopened. All items are reasonably priced, the staff fantastic and welcoming. The ice creams are particularly nice on these hot days.

we attended the park for a team meeting. one of my collegues asked to use to lavatory and was allowed. Other bought Icew Crean at the time. Later one I wanted to use the lavatory and then buy icecream . I very politely asked whether I could use facilities. the woman took one look at me and let me know it was for customers. I will never go there again. My white collegue was given a pass I was denigrated. I have health problems and the first thing I was told after being looked up and down was NO

Great food and service with thoughtful changes to accomodate social distrancing. Recomended as a safe space.

Uncooked egg, didn’t ask if wanted crispy bacon, tomato sauce out of date by 5 days. pancakes were cold.

I had a lovely lunch recently at the Cafe in Beechwood Park. The food was delicious and the staff are really helpful and friendly. Such a rare find to be able to eat great food in such a beautiful setting. Highly recommend.

Lovely location first time had food here and went for a sandwich which came with small helping of salad,very nice but a bit overpriced tbh.

Sandwiches were overpriced and not very interesting. Miss the decor and feel of the place that used to be here but it looks okay. Just too expensive for bland food.

We took our grandchild to the park and then went for walk, we popped into the cafe for drinks and a snack. Everything was superb and the service great.

This is a lovely place for breakfast in beautiful Beechwood Park. Can definitely recommend the full breakfast also the pancakes with creme fraiche and fruit. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. I'll be back!

Great cafe with delicious home cooked cakes and perfect family food. Matt, the owner, is on site and on hand providing the best of everything. Kids corner keeps the little ones entertained until the food arrives and dog bowls cater for the four-legged friends too....

Popped in after a stroll in the park with my wife,daughter and grandson.Was made to feel at home immediately which was a good start.Just had a few coffees and cakes which were excellent and I'm sure we will be returning soon for Sunday lunch.Thanks.
