Amazing steak and Sunday roast!! Missing Yorkshire pudding but everything else made up for it! Unluckily didn't get to try the scallops but I am sure it would taste amazing! Thank you for the meal!

Went as a birthday treat with family. The food was excellent but service was extremely slow considering it wasn't busy, the staff at times were nowhere to be seen, we asked for the desert board but after 15 minutes of waiting decided to just search out the barman and ask for the bill which was a shame, hopefully a one off.

Lovely mid week visit for a late lunch. Ate from the 2 for £18 menu and the food was really good. 4 of us who would definitely go back.

Nice comfort place for lunch. The WiFi was free and fast. Lovely and clean except for a nasty mess under the hand drier in the gents. The food was ok. My gammon steak was pretty small and tough. I had assumed it would come with peas. Never assume. 😀

My family and I visited the Goldcroft Caerleon today. My aunty, whose birthday it was, booked a long time ago and also rang ahead in the week to remind them of our booking (there was 17 of us). We arrived on time and our table wasn’t ready. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all so it appeared as though they weren’t expecting us. We had also pre ordered as per their request. The waitress then started handing out menus. We then had to remind the waiting staff we had preordered. They didn’t have our pre orders so luckily we had them all written down and could hand them over. When the starters arrived they were a soup, 1 children’s meal plus a gluten free mushroom dish short. I had bruschetta which was basically chopped up peppers and tomatoes on a muffin. They got all our main orders correct, which was great. My wife and I had the beef dinner which we found beef average. Some of my party wanted a desert. We weren’t offered desert and I’m pretty sure we saw the kitchen staff leave, which would explain that. It was a frustrating and disappointing experience and I won’t be coming back in a hurry.

Warm welcome and ordered bottle of wine at bar. Taken to table & waited 40 minutes before we had to ask for someone to take our order. Food was excellent, wine a bit expensive but nice.

Visited for a business lunch. Cracking food. Well prepared, fresh. Served with a smile.

Fantastic find! I've had the pleasure of eating here several times and each time the service has been superb and the food excellent. Dominic is extremely helpful and friendly. High kudos to the chef and to all of the staff.

I went on a Friday at around lunch. We might have been the only ones eating as just a few people were in the beer garden. I ordered from the lunch menu. Fish and chips were pretty good. The batter was flavoured with dill, the chips were excellent. The burger was just as good. The portions for the lunch menu were substantial. The service was excellent. No complaints. Keep in mind if you visit the goldcroft and you drive you will need to park on the street.

We had two Full Monty roast dinners; beef, lamb, pork and chicken with a huge Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings. It was absolutely stunning! Can't wait to move here and make it a regular treat.

Called in hopping we could get a table, only space was in the bar on stools. We were hungry so agreed. That was the best decision we had made that day and wow were we glad, We only ordered mains as we needed food after having a few pints next door. Two of us had beef one had all four meats the other had lamb. I asked for two Yorkshire puddings and no vegetables on my plate. They did exactly that I had six potatoes no veg and 4 slabs of the softest tastiest beef I have ever eaten . We all loved our meals and weee so full once finished. Thanks to the team for making the meal amazing and having such a good laugh with us. Look forward to our return

The food was amazing! We had the buffalo battered cauliflower bites and creamy garlic mushrooms to start, then we had the beef brisket and seabass for main. The portions were very generous and all the dishes tasted amazing. We went tonight (Monday) at 6.30pm. The service was great, the guys were very attentive and professional. Will definitely be back soon.

It was decent enough. The food was very good. The service was very friendly, but a bit confusing. We'd pre-booked, and had to hunt for someone to show us to our table. Drinks and the food came quickly but then we were left alone once the meal arrived rather than being asked if everything was okay, which some people prefer and I didn't mind. I was surprised that we weren't offered dessert menus after our mains. And it wasn't clear that we had to pay at the bar. I'd probably go again but with adjusted expectations.

Booked a table for my father's birthday/retirement celebrations on 01/04/24. We arrived at 1pm to an empty pub and were informed by staff they were running a "very limited" menu. We were then handed a long list of food they had run out of which was as long as the menu itself. We ended up having to leave and try to find somewhere which accepted walk-ins as they had essentially run out of food. Pretty inconvenient on a busy bank holiday! We were contacted Sunday night to confirm we still wanted the booking - perhaps next time explain you've run out of food beforehand to save a wasted journey?!

We were visiting from the US and staying in the beautiful town of Carleon. We stopped in at the Goldcroft without a reservation on a Friday evening and were able to sit in the bar area & order dinner. They had a couple of servers out ill and appeared there was only one server, however she made us feel at home and was calm throughout our service. We enjoyed the atmosphere & it seemed many locals were here as well. Terrific food and wonderful drink selections.

Excellent food and service, we loved it!!

What a cosy, friendly place. The staff were so lovely and welcoming. We had never been before but were shown to a table and really looked after. The place was full with both families and adult groups. The menu selection had plenty of choice and the food was delicious. We highly recommend and will definitely return.

We went to the Goldcroft for lunch with a couple of friends, expecting a nice quiet atmosphere to have a meal and a chat. How our hopes were soon shattered, a group of young girls were sat at a corner table supposedly enjoying a Bottomless brunch. The way they were behaving was in our view deplorable, shouting out and screaming, it was so bad we could not hear ourselves think let alone have a decent conversation. We complained to the staff about it but were ignored until finally they offered us a table in a quieter corner of the pub. We were disgusted by their behaviour, and it really spoiled our afternoon with our friends who had travelled a long way to meet up with us, so we really felt let down. Also for the money we paid, the food in our opinion left a lot to be desired as well. From here on in, next time we go out for a meal it will be to a much higher class of restaurant who gives due consideration to the comfort and well being of their customers. The Goldcroft will not be seeing us again for dust!!

Such a beautiful evening spent with friends. The food was delicious, service was amazing, we weren’t rushed and it was so clean and tidy there. A really lovely atmosphere and worth every single penny.

Good and bad. 8 of us came for an evening out. Staff were friendly and polite and the menu looked good. We ordered various meals but unfortunately two out of the eight were inedible. The dishes that included rice were very acidic and were unable to be consumed. It was a disappointment. However they were gracious enough to remove these from the bill. Our only other gripe was the smoke that poured in from the outside smoking area when someone returned from outside. The double doors for this area opened straight into the dining area to where people were eating. Unfortunately some smokers left the doors open on their return which was unpleasant for diners. As previously stated, most of our meals were good and were tasty and the chips were delicious

Went to the pub for New Years eve following a recommendation from a friend who attended last year. But, after hearing from her the standard of the buffet was second to none my expectations were quite high, So I very disappointed with the buffet which was served. Not only was the buffet filled with beige food, the amount served was insufficient for the amount of people it was catering for.

Late luncheon with friends. Expected it to be busy in pre Christmas week, but it wasn't. Consequently we got served quite quickly by a cheery young lady. Good value 2 meals for £17. Limited choice, fish, beef brisket etc. Would say the meals were tasty and piping hot, not brilliant but good for a lunchtime. Very reasonable, good service too.

Party of 8. The two meals for £15.00 lunch much menu is great value for money. I had the brisket and it was delicious. Most of the party really enjoyed their meal with one saying it was the best Caesar Salad she had had. Downside is parking close by is at a premium in a very busy part of Caerleon. It was busy in the pub but by no means full. With only two staff serving we waited over an hour for our food to arrive. Friendly staff. Could do with more real ales!

I was there for a wake , following a local funeral sad day but fantastic food ! A must visit , you won't be disappointed .

I visited the Goldcroft for a birthday meal. The Goldcroft handled the reservation well and the pub was very warm and welcoming. I am a fan of the outdoor area. The food here was good, nothing that was exceptional but I would be happy to return.

Had lunch here a few times recently. Parking can be a problem but always find somewhere nearby. Clean and comfortable with friendly and efficient staff. Good food and drinks. Good value, in fact the ' special` Luncheon menu is incredibly value. Some local well known rivals, see previous reviews, are no longer the place to be, with excessive pricing for similar standards of fare. It's the place to be now in Caerleon, especially for lunch. Only one ' complaint'... despite being advised by me on several occasions, and by others to my knowledge, the management persist in flying the Union Flag in the beer garden upside down! As they are not ' signalling distress' the only other known reason for this is to insult the King! Seems odd to persist with this knowingly? Better not to fly it at all. Aside from this, an excellent little pub all round.

I went with a group of friends who were deaf, plus some were blind, including myself. We had a terrible server from a lady behind the bar, who couldn't be bothered to help us with the food menu. So she justed walked away and decided to fob us off with a gentleman bar assistant, who I might add was very pleasant and helpful. We all felt very uncomfortable because of her attitude towards us, which was uncalled for when trying to place an order. Some of us had to wait for a very long time before receiving the food. Plus one friend who asked for gluten free gravy because she has gluten tolerance and ended up given the wrong thing, plus she had to leave with half her food in a box, because the service was so slow.. Just so you know I feel there should be disability awareness to be more understanding with consideration of those who have some difficulties more than others.. Apart from that the food was nice.

Unfortunately, not a great experience. Went to celebrate a family birthday for an early dinner and had to wait nearly an hour for the food, even though the restaurant was not busy! The salmon salad was really dissapointing, with just lettuce & croutons. No other salad accessories, such as cucumber or tomatoes, so quite an extension main. Other food, just average 😒

staff were lovely. sadly had to wait 1 hour and 30 mins for our food. and then a further 20 mins at the bar waiting just to pay our bill. food was nice but not worth the wait.

Went for lunch and was very surprised by the quality of the food from the two meals for £15 . The service was a little slow but this was due to several large parties will be back soon.

Popped in for lunch greeted by rude manner/owner which continued throughout our meal. The food was okay nothing special but I wouldn’t have minded if the service had been half decent, really unwelcoming would never return.

Cannot thank the staff and owners enough for a top night from start to finish. Had a really large family party to celebrate 3 birthdays; pre ordered food which was all spot on, piping hot and tasted amazing. Large portions (lots of us couldn't finish our desserts and the gammon was huge) and such friendly service. The owner gave us a free complementary bottle of fizz which just topped off how great this establishment is. Would totally recommend. Thankyou owners and staff for making our birthdays fabulous.

Went here for a post walk roast on a Sunday. Really nice pub in the centre of Caerleon and looks like a lovely beer garden for the summer. Roast was good value for money, could have done with a little more veg though. Pudding was yum. Would definitely recommend for value and will be back!

Fantastic service & great food! Staff were really friendly & welcoming after we’d driven for ages in the terrible weather! Good selection of drinks on tap, whilst my fiancé & I both had the gammon; very tasty with wonderful chips! Owner congratulated us on our engagement & we had a free dessert on the house! Will defiantly return to this well run pub!

For unconnected reasons had Dinner one night and lunch the next day at the Goldcroft. Both meals were superb. There is a Lunch time menu which was great value for money. Service was good Staff very friendly. Can recommend this pub .

Nice pub with a sunny beer garden. Had a good selection of drinks and bar snacks. Didn't have food but it looked nice, and people seemed content. Also quite cozy inside, I expect it would be nice in the winter if they have a log fire, but being hot I wasn't looking for one. If I remember I'll go back to find out and update my review 😃

Just had Sunday dinner. Lovely setting, staff really friendly and food very nice. Lots of different veg, yorkshire pudding with all meats not just Beef. Plenty of extras like crackling on the pork. Plenty of gravy. Thinking of booking Christmas dinner here, so nice.

Fabulous Sunday lunch at the Goldcroft Inn, very well cooked, had the lamb with mint sauce and the usual suspects, veg etc. The food was delicious, cooked perfectly and very well presented. The staff were very helpful and friendly, from the moment we walked in they were very welcoming with super service, the food was served really quick and the staff always passed by to ask if we needed anything. The crumble pudding with custard was amazing, very tasty and warm. Also the coffee / decaf was really nice, overall we had a fantastic experience.

Evening visit, it as not very busy so service was good with helpful staff although some drinks we expected not stocked. Food was excellent and served promptly and good value.

Excellent meal! My niece and I both had a burger and my husband had fish a chips. The portions were generous and the chips were lovely and crispy. Unfortunately we were too full for a dessert!
