Wonderful food from an adventurous menu in a wonderful setting - quiet and relaxed with an oldy world feeling.

We were in Maesteg for a visit and thought we’d call into the market but found it had permanently closed 5 months previously. This cafe used to be in the market but is now in a precinct area just outside of it. We both went for the all day breakfast for £4 - great value - bacon, sausage, egg, hash brown, beans or tomatoes, mushrooms and toast as well as a mug of tea or coffee. For an extra £1 you could have had another egg, bacon, sausage, hash brown and a slice of black pudding. The place was clean and tidy and the staff friendly. If we ever return to Maesteg we’d be happy to return here.

Lovely location, arrived shirt notice, nice sailor themed pub restaurants.. Had stroganoff was like out of a tin. My daughter discribed, like cat food.Nothing like described so for £16 was disappointed😞. My husband had sweet chilli chicken which definitely looked more appealing. Staff really friendly and accommodating. Expensive pub grub. Definitely room for improvement.

Had the three course Sunday lunch. Excellent value. All three courses were superb. Very well presented and very well cooked. Service was excellent too-very attentive. Definitely recommend and will definitely return.

Haven't been here for years so was looking forward to eating here. So disappointing, chips were not cooked enough and fish was tasteless. Staff were hanging around by the bar area nattering when we had to wait for our drinks? Awful service. Definitely not what it was which is a shame and not worth the money.

My family and I went for a birthday meal this evening. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. I absolutely could not fault the place! It's both clean and bright, would definitely recommend!

The food took us all by surprise! It was really really nice! Though the interior was a surprise to say the least, being very modern and minimal compared to the classic British pub we were expecting from the outside, the food was great! I had chicken with a cream sauce and potato cake which was divine, and all the other meals got high praise - a steak sarnie, steak and chips, and cauliflower fritters too. All lovely. The staff went above and beyond for us, and despite a lengthy wait, it was so worth it! Thanks so much, and if you’re looking for a well-priced quality meal in the area, I don’t think there’s much better!

impromptu lunch on Saturday, very friendly welcome, relaxed chilled vibe but with prompt friendly service, extensive food and drinks menu with specials of day , main menu or a special lunch menu. Beef Wellington was my firm favourite 👌lovely bar restaurant and garden area.

A first class experience. We had booked an early lunch and we were served promptly Wayne and Gill looked after our party very well and with great rapport. The meals never fail to please each time we visit and this was no exception. I ordered the large gammon which was cooked perfectly and served with potatoes, peas and salad. Others had fish and chips, salmon and sausage and mash. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and the atmosphere. Wayne and Gill run a great public house and I would have no problem recommending them.

Quiet on a bank holiday Monday evening but good service all the same. Recommended.

Visitor on business, spent a few nights alone nursing a beer but made to feel welcome, food exceptional, price, not sure how they do it, beers just spot on but service...second to none on any evening I visited...take a bow guys !!!!

We had our wedding at Bryngarw House yesterday. It was the best day ever, and I would not change a thing if I could do it again. Everyone said they have never been to a wedding like this before, they all loved the food the venue and all the entertainment. If you are considering Bryngarw for your wedding, please don't hesitate to choose them! Absolutely amazing venue with beautiful bedrooms and wonderful ceremony rooms. Not to mention the gardens. The staff is also exceptional, special thanks to our lovely wedding Coordinator Samantha, the amazing managers Owen (for the help the night before and the night of the wedding) and Andrew (thank you for following us to the gardens with the canapes) Holly and Sophie. Excellent service over all. Honestly, nothing was too much trouble. Like I said, best day and best wedding ever :) Thank you so much Bryngarw. Can't wait to have our babyshower here too ;) Would highly recommend.
