Amazing Sunday dinner! Nicest roasties, mash and carrots I’ve had.. plenty of meat and veg too! .. food was served fast and waitresses and waiter was lovely. Had a Sunday for desert too and although a little pricey it was lush! Definitely our new fave! Will be coming again.

Called in at 2.10 on Monday. It clearly states at the door that food is served until 2.30. Stood at the door waiting to be seen. Staff walked passed us. The woman behind the bar asked if we had booked. We had not, but restaurant was almost empty. She said we close at 3, and it will take 10 minutes to take your order, so you won't have time to eat it. Absolutely appalling customer service. We are not the first to be treated like this because they have to close at 3pm. We will definitely not recommend or return.

Have been to the Inn twice in a month! That's a record. Visited with friends and then with son and partner after raving about the Sunday lunch. He was also impressed. Don't take my word for it try it.

Been here a few times for Sunday lunch. Always a really good /tasty meal and always plentiful. Waitress service is always excellent. The only down point (and my fault as we’re always last minute booking) there’s a few tables by the bar which are directly under the bars television. I know the hardened drinkers congregating there are watching the TV above us but still a little uncomfortable. Especially when they get a little rowdy. Highly recommended by avoid those two tables

Went there for Sunday lunch recently. I cannot fault the food for taste and quantity and the surroundings are comfortable and clean. Very busy on a Sunday. We booked for 12md, we’re served at 1pm and advised that they needed the table for 2pm, so be aware of this but the food was lovely! Will go again but probably at 2pm.

Our wedding anniversary meal with our family took us to the Corner house. It is a bit out of the way, but we had a lovely welcome. A good menu with plenty of choice. Our food arrived piping hot which was welcomed. The chips were the best, and we were given extra chips too. 5 people and all had a 3 course meal £120, so quite reasonably priced.

I visited here with a friend. This is an old traditional pub. The menu choice is extensive. I had the pate for starters, the toast was good, lovely and crispy and the pate was divine. I want the side salad recipie and the dressing. My friend had the tiger prawn which were lovely. Could of done with two more. But maybe thats just me being greedy. I had lamb shank... its was succulent and I loved the thick cut chips which were cooked to perfection. My friend enjoyed his lasagne..and i must admit it looked tasty. Dessert i had the orange/chocolate sponge...sponge was soft exactly what you expect, not sure if it had enough flavours for me. But it was nice. My friend had the honeycomb cheesecake and that was very tasty. I really enjoyed the food. I have got to visit again. The prices were very reasonable. My friend would not show me the bill, but just to give you an idea the pate was £3.95 king prawns £4.95 The lamb shank was £12.95 A 10oz steak was £15.99 etc.. I really loved this place... it had character unlike these mordern chains. You could see brass on the fireplace along with copper pots. The toilets were clean, i would say the toilets could do with an update, however thus may take away from the character of the pub. To me ckean is more important. If you are in the area, pay this place a visit!

It has been a while since we last visited this pub and the Sunday lunch made us realise what we had been missing. The Roast beef was lovely and plenty of it, the same could be said of the Turkey. They serve you plenty of vegetables and the mashed potato was fabulous. Everything was hot and very tasty. The menu at the cornerhouse has always been good and offers great value for money. Once again thankyou cornerhouse for a lovely Sunday lunch.

SUNDAY LUNCH 29th January 2017, This used to be a 5 star pub, now I wouldn't rate it again, mushed veg, 3x small boiled baby potatoes, cooked in water for two long then re-heated maybe with butter to add taste but absolutely discusting, 1x roast potatoe that had been standing for sometime then re-heated because of the hardness inside and outside of roast potatoe, beef/turkey dry and again re- heated, gravy is good but semi cold, I asked a waitress if the meal came with a Yorkshire pudding and was told NO she stated you have stuffing as an extra. I am so disappointed with the Corner house it felt like a conveyancing belt, I even over heard a waitress shouting out and stated she was running around like a headless chicken in front of paying customers. 2 minutes of sitting down waitress came with food immediately not giving us time to get a drink!!! And not even offering to get a drink for us, as it turned out food was cold anyway my husband left his food to get drinks and had to wait due to 1 girl behind bar serving. My family and I have been going to this restaurant for 7 years, we won't return.

Drinks ordered pre meal.Had to wait at bar to ask for them after waiting until halfway through meal with no sign of waitress.Chairs dangerously perched at Edge of ledge on outside of tables duty to a dip in centre of floor. They were helpful about a soft diet requirement but served up overly dry chopped meat with a long delay with drinks that caused a problem with eating it.Some staff helpful but others much less so.First and last visit

What a fantastic evening my husband and I had for our anniversary. The meal was lovely and the salad was delicious. Don't know what dressing they used but even my husband ate it and that has to be the first! The pub/restaurant is an old building in a lovely historic village. They use locally produced ingredients and would recommend to anyone who wants a traditional meal in a lovely setting.

Visited here as family of 7 to celebrate a few birthdays falling at the same time. Homely atmosphere and friendly staff on arrival. Food was very good for pub food and portions were huge. The fish was bigger than the plate!! We ordered a variety of meals including steak, gammon, curry, fish and chips and burgers and all were made to a high standard. The chips to accompany food were brought in separate bowls to share and as we have a few bigger eaters were gone before others could grab a few-staff were more than happy to replenish these quickly on request. On finishing the meal though the plates were not cleared away for over 30 minutes making us decline dessert due to the time we had waited. Reasonably priced food to a good standard.

The food here is first class pub grub with some specials that are also well worth trying. It is a lovely pub, full of character & quite Olde Worlde but in this case, it is real, not faked. Prices are competitive & it has a good beer garden out the back. Be warned though, if you are walking there, then they don't let dogs in & you have to sit out in the beer garden. An inconvenience if you have walked over from Margam Park that can be disappointing. Other than that, you will find the location, food & service make up for it. :D

We absoulutley love this delightful, comfy atmosphere of a very well stocked little secret place, staff extreamley helpful, polite and professional. Every time we have been here for luch, evening meal, special occasion they pull out all the stops. Such a lovely atmosphere day and night, it doesn't matter if you're on a lunch break or a treat, food is stunning ( steak cooked rare to medium to well as advised for my palate by the owner wayne did help alot) was very tasty. A nice place where you feel at home, gorgeous surroundings, open fire, private areas, original old stone walls just oozing with local ledgend history the maid of cefyn ydfa is just so romantic, you know what they say " if the toilets are clean then so are the kitchens." This little glory was spotless, cannot wait to visit again. You can't go wrong here been coming here for a very long time they treat every one the same which is very refreshing these days,

Great Pub food, no fuss just excellent food at a good price. The chips are superb as is the local steaks and daily delivered cod.-.don't have the large cod unless you're hungrey , you;ll never get through it! They also do two meals for £12 but you can also have one for £ 6 which is handy if you're eating alone. Although the menu isn't extensive it is more than adaquet and the specials menu give you the extra option. My husband had the gammon steak which he said was the best he had eaten for a long while ( and he likes his gammon) I had the serloin steak, coked just as i like it ;with a peppercorn sauce .Fab If you like a little ool stone cosy pub in a lovely little village this is well worth a visit but follow the brown historic village signs for the best road up to teh village .

We were in Maesteg for a visit and thought we’d call into the market but found it had permanently closed 5 months previously. This cafe used to be in the market but is now in a precinct area just outside of it. We both went for the all day breakfast for £4 - great value - bacon, sausage, egg, hash brown, beans or tomatoes, mushrooms and toast as well as a mug of tea or coffee. For an extra £1 you could have had another egg, bacon, sausage, hash brown and a slice of black pudding. The place was clean and tidy and the staff friendly. If we ever return to Maesteg we’d be happy to return here.

What a treat what a stunning building this is. Went out for my parents anniversary and this was the perfect location they have been here many times before but this is a first for us. The food was so wonderful. I would highly recommend anybody coming here for food. We had a few cocktails. They were extremely nice a little bit expensive, but you get what you pay for.

This is an awful Pub. The images on here are old. The place looks grotty and tired now. The staff are not too alert either. An unwelcoming place with far better pubs within 100 yards of this.
