Nice little pub, well worth a visit.

Cracking pub with the bar right in the middle. Popped in for a quick pint of Morretti.

Wish they would stick to one draft ale not swap every week.

We went to watch the live band on a Saturday night having been recommended this pub by a local who we bumped into. The pub had a lovely, happy, welcoming atmosphere and drinks were cheap! The band was absolutely amazing, locals friendly and we had one of the best nights! I would definitely recommend for a live music night (most Saturdays)

Called into watch match a quiz was on not a problem but the place stank like toilets backing up left half pint guiness

Popped in in Friday , late afternoon. Great atmosphere, very nice pint of Proper Draft ale and very helpful and efficient bay staff. Great to have such a Pub in Bridgend….

Very friendly and welcoming. Provided our dogs with a drink and a treat. Would be great if you had a larger non alcoholic selection eg tea , coffee and hot chocolate etc

Might be the last decent pub standing in Bridgend. Refurbished to a good standard, nice atmosphere and wide selection of reasonably priced drinks.

Currently does not do home cooked food. Great atmosphere, a small selection of real ales. Often has live music,open mic and quiz night's.

Service is good, although they could probably do with an extra member of staff during busy times. Decent range of drinks. Serious hygiene issues with the toilets though, I don't think they've been cleaned in years. If it wasn't for that I would have definitely come back again in the future.

A proper pub, run very well with something different on each night of the week. Geraint, Katie and the rest of the team have made this a real gem in the heart of Bridgend. Sadly they are leaving and the Pub is going to be closed again. It's a pity that the owners, Star Bars and Pubs, and the brewery Heineken couldn't see what this place means to the people that use it and provide the support that is needed here. Just check out the 248 Facebook messages in support of the current Landlord and Landlady. This is a huge loss to our community. I expect at some point in the future someone else will be found to run it, and also I expect that they will run into the same problems if they aren't addressed. So why not just sort things out now, and let the good people of Bridgend enjoy this beautiful little pub.

Only popped in to watch football. Bar staff were friendly and it was a nice old fashioned pub.

One of the best pubs in Bridgend, the staff are always cheerful and courteous. They are always ready to laugh and are never rude. 10/10 for customer service.

Many people complain about the lack of "good" pubs in Bridgend but this is far from the truth. The Old Castle restores good old fashioned (with a modern twist) pub atmosphere. Yes the building in certainly inviting but the warm welcome and the ability to make the customer feel "special" is a dying art, both Geraint and Katie (and all staff) certainly make you feel that way. The Old Castle treats customers like family!!

Geraint & Katie have transformed this pub. They have giving it such a beautiful makeover. They work really hard and they always give a warm welcome. Pop in and say hello.

This pub got to be the worst place in Bridgend the bar lady is polite but her husband has a real attitude want last long in a family pub like that he tells me he is ex marine don’t think so because marines don’t brag about what they have done in life

Visited this lovely, well presented pub and i must say its a lovely run pub, staff are friendly, nice and quiet. Great to watch your favourite sport. Prices are great too. Cleanest toilets ive seen in bridgend 🙂 will visit again

First visit for a while, following a bad experience last year! Lovely welcome, from lady host, and from a fellow drinker at the bar. Warm fire, a lovely atmosphere. Could only have 2 drinks as booked in for a meal elsewhere. Will definitely return. Hopefully a return to the old days!

The Old Castle is one of Bridgend's most popular pubs and is now open under new management. The new team are doing a brilliant job; restoring this pub into its' former glory. Visited yesterday for a late lunch with friends. Excellent food, all fresh and home-cooked. Surf and Turf (Steak and Scampi) served with real chips, peas, side salad and freshly made coleslaw that was to die for! My friends had Cod and chips which was the freshest, whitest, perfectly cooked fish in the crispiest batter. I will be ordering this on my next visit! My surf and turf was £12.99 and the Cod was £6.99 A good choice of real ales are available. I paid £3.40 for an excellent pint of Abbot Ale. I would recommend a visit to the Old Castle. The new team are setting very high standards and obviously It will become a very popular venue in Bridgend.
