Our first evening meal in Llandudno and as its the sea side thought it should be fish n chips. Found this one after a Google search and as it offered searing thought it would be good. Welcoming staff sat us down at a table and we ordered. No option to have a regular cod so had to have the large one and my wife ordered fishcakes. The order arrived promptly as did the drinks. Both meals arrived with a side salad which did seem a bit unusual. The fish was nice enough but quite greasy as were the chips which am sad to say were quite bland. Curry sauce ok. The fish cakes on my wife's plate looked like they'd been cooked three times, tasted better than the looked and were overly seasoned. This was an average meal at well above average prices. £16:95 for my cod, chips. Curry sauce £1:95 extra £14:95 for fishcake chips - peas £1:95 extra. Two teas on top and the bill at the end was touching £42:00. Worth it? No - sorry but wouldn't be a place we would come back to.

Customer facing staff is key to a pleasurable experience stay at any hotel though staff seemed to be demotivated and seemingly reflected that, in my opinion, of the general managers demeanour. Never had such a cold reception…. anywhere! Shame. Food nice enough as was accommodation. Sadly to add, my car which was parked overnight and was subjected by those who insist on wearing hoodies in the twilight hours collecting car badges by the use of screwdrivers! Not the fault of the hotel but just added to the forgettable experience. Choice is always yours!

Went out for breakfast as a group of 5. Firstly I will say it’s very cheaply priced. £10 for a full breakfast and chips including tea or coffee so normally I would chalk it up to you get what you pay for but it really would be better to charge a couple of quid more or knock off the chips to be able to offer a better standard. Very small, incredibly cheap sausage (it made ASDA smart priced sausages seem gourmet) a scraggy bit of bacon more fat than meat, a small spoon full of beans served in plastic pots. I ordered with no tomato but got no fried bread or black pudding. Another of our party asked for no black pudding and got no toast, another ordered full breakfast and got no hash browns so whoever was in the kitchen was pretty hopeless (we were the only ones in eating so it wasn’t busy) Like I said it’s very cheap in price but next time I’ll opt for going elsewhere even if I have to pay a little bit extra.

I was able to book online for the same evening ( midweek). We were welcomed warmly, and were impressed by the lovely interior of the pub. Although it is a Marston’s pub, the menu was different to the norm. Everything was made in house, and we loved the choices. My husband couldn’t resist a starter ( black pudding fritters), followed by a steak burger and loved both. I had the chilli, which was also delicious. The home made chips were to die for! Altogether a very good meal and evening. We will be back!

When we went in the Albert it wasn't too bad for people but after being in for about 30 mins it was packed, I had Beef Sunday lunch a delight to eat, we did think of having a Dessert but so full after the main meal. Ring and book a table if I was you. Hope you can enjoy the food as we did.

It’s very deceiving from outside , which gives the appearance of being closed , BUT it’s a pub that has limited hours I now have discovered, M to S , 18.00 to xxxx , on Sunday 12.00 to 16.00 & 19.00 to 23.00 Once inside the Hosts are very friendly , great range of Draughty Ale ie Bass etc , It has a very comfortable atmosphere and was surprised how big & busy it was it was , when we visited , with the majority of the clients walking , hardly any vehicles outside , Looking forward to visiting again soon ,
