Food has drastically declined. Quality and volume are the poorest I’ve seen in a long time. I ordered a double burger and got this absolute mess. We also ordered two regular chips and the portion size was tiny. Sick and tired of the poor effort for this place. It’s almost like they think they don’t need to bother anymore because they are one of the few takeaways that deliver in Denbigh. Will it be ordering from this place anymore

First visit December 2023 chips where limp peas had no taste and the batter on fish to oily,shall not visit again

Not good. tasteless sausage, batter on the cod was too thick meaning while nice and crunchy outside it was soggy and oily on the inside. The chips were ok. We won't bother again.

Delicious food, delivered on time, great service from the telephone order and delivery driver. Delivered to Heron Lake Lodges which is 30 minutes away, so arrived warm and was piping hot after 5 minutes in the oven.

Friendly staff, excellent fish and chips. Fish with crunchy batter superb. My first time will be trying their menu over time.

Amazing pizza, will have to knock it down for the chicken wings as they were bland and not seasoned well. Classic Italian pizza.....amazing

Excited to try the new shop in Rhyl. Very disappointed. Ordered 2 chicken cheese burgers and received 2 normal lukewarm burgers and the fish and chips were also lukewarm and quite tasteless. Cost of £24.05. Not a great start!!

Sorry, but every time I have ordered fish and chips from here they've been quite horrible. Just handy as they deliver, but I've had too many bad meals from here that I won't be using them again.

Staff were really friendly, chatted about the business, offerings and general chatter whilst we waited. Were lovely to the kids and the food was really nice. Said they could deliver to the local area as well so took a menu and will definaltely use again.

Good quality fish and chips, as well as excellent tasty ordinary gravy. Fish was cooked to order which means you are not getting freshly cooked food that has not gone soggy from being under a warming light. Obviously service times can vary drastically when busy and because of cooking from fresh but a bit longer wait for toasting hot food is better than semi-cold soggy chips and cooling flat and sad battered fish. Parking on the road is a dodgey affair because it is very busy and narrow with a lot of other parked cars, pedestrians and moving traffic as well as several dreaded double yellow no parking lines!

Has 3* hygiene food rating not displayed on the premises, sounds like it has poor quality fish and chips and even worse pizza's. Give it a miss in the interest of a healthy stomach.

Over priced and poor quality, paid 25 pound for 2 fish and chips with peas and curry sauce. Portion size was for a child, peas were cold and white? Used to be a good chippy would never order from here again.

Chips were lovely, not greasy and crispy. Haddock was also lovely and cooked perfectly. The curry sauce was nice but a fruity curry would of been nicer.

I'm shocked on reading some of the negative comments on here,as I have never received a bad meal yet,and believe you me,I'm fussy. Anyway,last minute decision this evening ,to order food for home delivery ,as had my daughter over. The gentleman who took my order on the phone, was friendly,helpful and polite. The order arrived on time, and the food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Well done and Thank you

It's not often something gets a 5* from me, as just like everything in life there is always room for improvement. However, there isn't anything more you could expect from here. Ordering online is very easy and simple, you can pay by your card online, which in actual fact this is the only takeaway place in the area you can do this. Food arrived on time with great delivery service, quality of the food was perfect, great portions sizes and food was hot. Second time ordering here and both times very impressed.

REALLY REALLY BAD. Everything was cooked in oil far too hot so almost raw on the inside. Waited ages and ages for food only fit for the bin.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. After a 25 minute wait I took the food home and it was inedible! Raw chips, raw batter on the fish, the chicken was so dry it was like trying to eat a ball of string. NEVER EVER AGAIN!

Everything I bought was inedible. Raw batter on the fish, undercooked chips ( had to put them in the oven to cook more when I got home) and the chicken was so dry it was like a ball of dental floss so stringy. A very long wait as they seem to fulfil orders over the phone before the people who have been bothered to visit the shop. WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN!

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT This place saved my friend from starving in hospital , fabulous food really fast delivery very efficient card payment. What absolutely wonderful genuinely kind people. Awful dry cold chips, fish cake also cold so was the curry sauce! I knew they were going to be cold as placed them on my knee, I couldn’t smell them or feel the warmth through the bag…they used to be the best around, was giving them another go, but very very disappointed again!

What a shame, used to say simply was my favourite fish and chips shop with the best chips around, past couple of times I’ve been this year just not the same. Chips are too crunchy, mushy peas bland the only thing I enjoyed was the curry sauce.

1st and last time buying food from there the chips where awful greasy not cooked in the middle properly asked for salt and vinegar none on the fish nothing of it and greasy was awful not worth the money visited Wales this came up the best chippy it's not award winning its a loe

Ordered using their online website option, food delivered on time but received wrong order, messaged on Facebook to let them know as they were closed at 20:35 but still no response. Shame otherwise 5 stars.

I have used simply fish & chips many times although I will not be using them again. I only ordered a large sausage and 2 chips…what could go wrong? Whilst in the queue I noticed that they only have 3 stars which surprised me but the floor looked dirty as did the kitchen. I collected my food and left. At home I tried to eat the chips but they were hard and inedible-raw maybe. I phoned Simply and was told by a rude member of staff who basically called me a liar as the chips are on a timer and they’ve never had any complaints; however looking at the reviews I think that member of staff was not being honest! I will not be ordering anything from there again and I suggest future customers look elsewhere as the food and service are rubbish!

I will never go here again. So expensive for tiny portions. £23 for 2 X cod and chips which were tiny. I wish I never went in here and watsed my money. Don't make my mistake!

Don't know why this place won awards?! Portion of fish and chips way too small and literally half the size of what you'd get in most chippies. ( I was still hungry after finishing them!! ) To illustrate, you get your chips in a burger size carton! The fish was nice, ( but nothing special ) but the chips were awful. They are very dry and taste more like oven chips than your average chippy style chips. Really failing to understand what is so special about this place??

First time I've ordered a delivery excellent telephone manner and the delivery man was very polite, food excellent would recommend them to everyone

Visited a few times since the start of the year. Each and every time it’s been good. I tend to purchased haddock and request it is lightly battered. Chips are always spot on. The curry sauce here is top notch. Girlfriend tends to get chicken nuggets and always enjoys them. I really think the barrage of 1* reviews are unjust.

Last time I ordered, part of the order was a battered sausage. It looked like a battered sausage but when I cut into it, it was fish???? The order before this one, part of the order was 2 curry sauce and 1 mushy peas. I ended up with 3 mushy peas. 9 out of 10 times I have ordered steak pie, I have had a phone call saying they don't have any pies and offer me something else. If they have no pies then they should take it off the menu.

never again,,,just under £30 for 2 adult meals and a childs meal the large curry was like a thimble full..

So first my food arrived cold nuggets weren’t even cooked they were pink inside then the burger was stone cold My pizza looked like a child’s And the owner is Dam right rude call d to complaint and got the phone slammed Down on me AVIOID

Fish was Great Chips were Great also, but after paying my Service charge, i got home to find my tartare sauce had been forgotten !

So having spent nearly £40 On an order we received this cold and half missing we ordered 2x double cheese burgers with onion rings and hash browns 3 sausage and chips The order come and we got the sausage and chips 1 double burger and 1 single I called to see what had happened and was told there’s no hash browns or onion rings but had still been charged £8.50 per burger The food was also cold so I was told by a member of staff that we can order next time for half price I said that’s not good enough the food is half missing and cold So we were told they will bring the order again 2 nd order come and it was raw burgers I was totally shocked by this iv put a picture showing the burger and I called again and was told it’s beef it’s fine Iv been ordering from here for years and it’s always an excuse why foods cold or late Save your money I’d say iv sent the picture to triad and standards Never have I ever been sent a 4 raw burgers

Chips aren't the best the fish always repeats on me

My favourite food take away, freindly staff, never any problems, and great food.

Tried this place 3 times now, given it the benefit of the doubt each time but can hand on heart say each time the quality of food has reduced. The chips are so dry, sometimes bitty and the batter on the fish is never cooked properly, very slimey and gooey. Tried a pizza once and the base was really burnt, again dry and very little topping. Customer service is terrible there too, the Husband and wife that own it speak to the staff like dirt when I have been there and you get the impression the look down on everyone. Not sure how this place has won awards tbh although I'm thinking it's not what you know it's who you know when it comes to getting awards. Head up town to Ken's chippy instead, much nicer.

Large fish regular chips cheezy chips. & £12.00. Complete waste of money not very nice. Would of been far better to go to Wetherspoons(if it was open). Will not go again

Ordered food online, aware that delays are in place due to covid. Was told 65 mins for delivery which I accepted. After two hours phoned up to check, was told very rudely it would be another 15 mins. Added to with Lewis the big I am in the background shouting tell him to wait, very rude for someone who is supposed to lead the place by example. On top of that it took another 45 mins to arrive, was stone cold, had obviously been stood for a while and tasted horrid. Never using again. Lessons need learning.

Ordered a takeaway for delivery. Ordered the meal deal which should have included pizza, chips, chicken and a bottle of pop. Ordered extras..mayo, curry sauce and a sausage. Delivered with the curry sauce all over the bag and order. Was missing chicken,pop and the mayo. Phoned to inform them of this and they were not very helpful whatsoever. Offered a 'free' curry on our next order. When in fact it wouldn't be free as that'd been paid for on this order. Lots of erm..er..erms... Nothing said about missing items.. asked to speak to manager and no joy with him neither.. my daughter was hung up on. VERY RUDE..Chips looked like they'd been recooked lots of times. Daughter went to recheck order and found her account suspended. Absolutely disgusting service of simplypizza and will definitely not use it again!!!!

Chips were of a small portion and extremely dry. We also tried the pizzas which were Otho special. Next time went across the road to Townsend Takeaway which was so much better

Just had fish,chips and peas home delivery. Fish was like a whale so large and cooked to perfection, chips and peas good also. Very fair price for delivery. I will definitely be back, very delicious.

In Simply Fish and Chips in Denbigh one can experience the best fried food in the neighborhood. During the Christmas holiday, the place was closed so we had to do with somewhere else. There was no comparison: Simply Fish and Chips is always first rate!

Good food. Plenty of choice to be fair. Not dripping with grease like some places which is a bonus. Friendly staff who get the orders done with no fuss

How can you possibly get fish and chips so wrong I can't tell you what was right chips overcooked chicken breast at £3.75 was 75 % bone and to forget part of the order when you are only serving fish and chips with a few condiments is unforgivable. To start a pizza business before you can perfect fish and chips is ridiculous.

You get a ticket with a number on it then put into a queuing system so no matter what you order you will still have to wait your turn before receiving your food. It took 35mins to receive a sausage and regular chips. Very poor organisation. The servers have long hair wafting around the food as they prepare your order. Not eaten it yet so hoping it tastes alot better than the wait.

It’s the first time I used it, and it’s going to be my last. I ordered a large battered sausage, chips with curry sauce. The batter was not cooked at all it was still almost raw and the sausage was also undercooked.

Called at Simply on way home from shopping on a wet tuesday night..just fancy a chippy tea...so ordered fish chips mushy peas & curry sauce...got it home there were no curry sauce...but still enjoyed it...

By far the worst pizza I've ever had, its almost as if the roll some dough out whack a block of cheese on it and just let it melt, horrific scenes opening the box

Ordered pizza, took an hour and a half to arrive. Clearly been carried on its side so the pizza had tipped to one side and lost all its topping. We were regular customers.

This chippy came highly recommended but proved to be a great disappointment.

Used to be lovely here when it first opened, it was a good thing to happen to Denbigh, the last few times I’ve been there I’ve been disappointed. It’s more of a social club in there now, full of young people working there (which there’s nothing wrong with) but it’s extremely unprofessional and they’re more bothered about chatting and socialising than helping customers. disappointed

I have had some bad chips in my time but never as bad as this place. The lot went in the bin!! Such a shame because we have used the place in the past and it was good enough to make you want to come back but not this time. If you want food you can actually eat I would avoid this place!

Ordered chicken burger and chips for home delivery. Chicken was dry and tasteless, asked for salad all that was on it was 2 small leaves of rocket. Chips were brown and hard, also no taste on them. Shocking price too. Not sure how this place has won awards, Much nicer chips across the road in the Chinese takeaway.

Regularly get chips from here via home delivery food is lovely and staff are so friendly very clean and definitely the best chippy in Denbigh

Have had haddock n chips recently and the batter on the fish was badly undercooked. Thought I'd give them another try, hoping it was a one-off. No Haddock this time! so had to have Cod, which was tasteless. Chips were almost cold to make matters worse.

Food was tasty but well over priced.

Overpriced for what you get. Small portions compared to other chip shops. Had lots of green chips as well. For the prices they charge they should be top notch. Disappointing.

Came here for fish and chips and regular chips and took them home 5 minutes away and found out there wasn’t a lot of chips with the fish ex specially the chips were not cheap. So decided to go back to the chip shop and complained they did apologise for the mistake and re done the order. Again they apologised when we went out. The owner did say it was a child’s portion not a adult portion. Glad we were only 5 minute walk away not miles away.

Very well cooked fish and chips. The fish is fried in tasty batter that is not greasy. The container is completely bio-degradable. The lunch time specials are especially good value. It also has a restaurant service.

Coming home from hols fancied fish and chips. Never raved about their chips but the fish has been really good in the past. Not this time, mushy undercooked batter. Returned and they re cooked the fish and gave us more chips but still undercooked and thick mushy batter. Will not be returning to waste money....

Had great fish and chips here before so when we ripped out our kitchen (and a couple of walls) had no hesitation in feeding the troops from Simply. Chips used to be better when they sourced/chipped them themselves.

Being from the North East, we are very particular with our fish & chips, but l have to say these were absolutely delicious to the core. Thank you from a hardened Geordie Fish n Chip boy ❤️😊

Very good quality fish and chips. Chips were cooked at a higher temperature, which avoids fat absorption but makes them slightly darker than usual (and enhances flavour). Fish comes with a lemon wedge. Most packaging is biodegradable too. Fish and chips packaged separately so the batter was still crunchy when we got the food home.
