I have tried to contact weather spoons to do a complaint and also raise my concern over our incident to avoid this happening to another person, had one reply and nothing since!! Me and my partner thought we would go to this weatherspoons to have a meal, we both had the mix grill. Unfortunately by the time we went to bed i started to become seriously ill and by the morning also my partner was. We ended up very dehydrated and wasn’t able to eat for two days!! This is very concerning as we take our kids occasionally here, if they became even slightly ill like we were we would be in hospital!! The company does not seem to care over this! Please be careful with the food!!

I didn't stay in a hotel room as we just went in for a breakfast. Ruthin must be the most inaccessible place we (as powered wheelchair users) have ever visited. We were just about to give up on finding somewhere to eat, this Wetherspoons being the last and having large steps up into it and with no sign of any alternative entrance, when I thought we would be cheeky and have a look around the rear, which didn't look to be for the public. Sure enough they do have a very decent ramped entrance and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. Our cooked breakfasts were very good at a good price. The accessible toilet was good too, probably above average. There are some really history filled dining rooms with fire place and oak panelling which are very nice. In short, don't give up on Ruthin, there's always a good 'Spoons to visit. Thanks

My wife and I have called here many times for breakfast or lunch.Food has always been good.We had the eggs Benedict and a traditional breakfast with tea and a latte.Everything was good except for the bacon being paper thin, but all bacon in Wetherspoons breakfasts is like this. There are steps inside everywhere,so not good if you are disabled. The parking outside here is very limited. There are about 6 spaces on a pay and display, this only allows you 45 minutes for 75 pence.

Staff are absolutely run off their feet. The whole place (we stayed for two nights) could do with a complete cleaning from top to bottom. Tables were sticky and grubby and left cluttered from previous guests, unless you sorted it yourself. Coffee/tea machines out of order. Milk jug always empty. Our room (104) had (arguably) the worst view we’ve ever experienced staying in a Wetherspoons hotel(and we’ve stayed in many). The room itself was functional but could do with a better degree of cleaning. Noise from the other hotel guests was barely tolerable and I’m sure we contributed to that too. We didn’t complain in person to the management, as we actually thought it would be futile. Some of the staff are trying their best (you can see that)but others (bar staff especially) are just treating their job as a joke. No personal interaction with customers and very little warmth. I’ve been a pub landlord so I understand the business and how customers should be made to feel comfortable and happy in their surroundings. You don’t get that here and that is something that filters down from the management hierarchy. I asked a question of the receptionist regarding parking. His slow intake of breath and loud exhalation gave me the impression of “ good grief, not that question again “. This hotel/pub will always take money because of the tourist trade. It’s a shame that they don’t appreciate the customers.

Often meet up with friend for a lunch/coffee, on recent months they have a few New faces/staff now working here… I have had to now write a review about poor hygiene from one member of New staff! This is the second time I have witnessed from same young girl with long dark blonde hair and round baby face! Twice in ladies toilets whilst I were also in there washing my hands, she has left from using the toilets and not washed her hands! This same girl is waiting on tables as not old enough to serve behind bar yet! Has put myself and friend off from eating here again. Just gross! My friend and I panicked at very thought that is she also in kitchen helping assemble the dishes? Even if not? It is still not good enough to handle the plates and cutlery or anything in the hospitality industry.

Went to Wetherspoons in Ruthin for lunch, terrible. I had the veggie all day brunch. The ‘fried ‘ egg was cooked to within an ich of its life, it was like rubber with a very hard yolk, the veggie sausages were hard and the chips had no taste at all. The food was tepid. No one came to ask if the food was all right, the table had not been cleaned, the hot chocolate from the machine was very weak. I have stated in the past I would not frequent these pubs again but this time I really mean it. The prices now are not that cheap so I expect better.

We were hoping for a nice relaxing evening. A nice meal and an early night as we had both had a very long day. Unfortunately it was not to be. ROOM 105 was very cold. We couldn’t be moved to another room as the hotel was full. The toilet seat was very loose but was fixed very quickly. Then I used the toilet and it wouldn’t stop flushing. I went down to the hotel and a member of staff came up to look. Unfortunately she had no tools and was unable to fix it. A plumber was called. We heard nothing for over an hour. No updates were given. And I sat with my coat on in the cold room. We rang for an update at 8pm. We were told the plumber wouldn’t be there until 9:30pm. He eventually arrived at 9:40. He tried to fix it but parts were needed so we were left with an unusable loo. How on earth he could see in the extremely poorly lit bathroom I don't know. As I said previously No other rooms were available so we were stuck in a cold room with no working loo. By the time the plumber left it was getting very late (so much for our early night). All through the night a gate or door was banging outside. (So much for a relaxing evening). In the morning I opened the broken curtains, they were not connected to the rail, only to find the reason the room was SO cold was a huge gap in the sash window. This was also the cause of knocking all night!! Unfortunately a small amount of red wine was spilled in the room on the sheet and mattress protector. I can buy a mattress protector for less than £10. Or, here’s a novel idea - wash it!! After all the clue is in the name! Or claim on your insurance. I am sure you have insurance don’t you? We were told when we complained that we would be refunded the cost of the room. They have now reneged on this due to the spillage. It had taken several calls from us to get to this point. The gap in the sash window was so big that I could slide the Wetherspoons magazine into it with ease. I have a video.

My husband took his food back and asked for refund, the plate was taken from him and he was told "if you can't see we're busy,go somewhere else". Definitely one to avoid if more than 4 people are in the dining room as clearly the kitchen can't cope, felt sorry for some of the staff as clearly not their fault and were rushed off their feet, however others were outright rude and should not be in the hospitality industry

We visited for a meal as a family a rare occasion as my 18 year old so is away a lot in the armed forces,we found a table and sat down to order with no issues. My partner used the app to order our food and drinks. When the drinks were brought over there was an issue as my son didn’t have ID working in retail I understand this is a problem what I did have a problem with was the wrong drink being removed without being asked by a member of staff that I was later told was management without an offer to replace with a soft drink. We were then watched for ten minutes by two staff members one of which being the lady mentioned above only to be told then we had 15 minutes to eat and leave …our food had still not arrived.I asked for a refund as we didn’t want to be rushed which I was told they couldn’t do.I understand small children not being allowed to be in bars at nine in the evening what I dont get or appreciate is spending over £50 to be told to leave especially as there was no signs and it didn’t say anywhere in the restaurant or on the menu that people THEY believe are under 18 have to be out by 9.30pm.Wont be returning as they ruined what was supposed to be a rare and enjoyable family evening.

Lovely location, with gorgeous views of the Clwyd Range and surrounding area. The hotel itself is an old house with winding uneven passages! Rooms are nice with everything you could want. Usual good food and ale

We stayed here for a stag weekend and the staff were great, the atmosphere was great, and we were super impressed with the food, especially breakfast (veggie brioche - trust me). The hotel was a bit wonky but the beds were comfy, the biscuits were topped up, and the showers were hot. We'd definitely stay again. Thanks Gales!

Lovely food. I had The fish and chips- lovely crisp batter and triple cooked chips. Quite a large meal though. The burger came with a fresh salad and nice crispy onion rings. Everything was lovely and hot too. Dining room looks like it has recently been refurbished and was very comfortable and clean. Nice atmosphere. Well behaved dogs are welcome here too. 5 star on every thing.

On our way to Barmouth, we called in for lunch. We have been before and liked it for the comfortable surroundings and quality food and drinks. We were not disappointed, we had homemade soup and fish and chips, all good and fair prices.

Hello there ! Just ordered a home delivery fish & chips for 2 persons. Food was great but sadly they don’t add lemon and tartar sauce ! So a bit plain to taste !
