Front Room and Late Lounge in Denbighshire

Shame about the lack of locks on the toilet doors upstairs and downstairs as the rest of the place is great

We hired the lounge bar for my dad’s 50th birthday party on 30th March.. while arranging it was easy to sort through the booking and on the actual night the staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. Thankyou to everyone for all their help! I highly recommend booking this venue for parties☺️

We were there for the Sunday afternoon soul music chill out on 26thNov. There was no heating on a freezing cold day and most of us had to keep our coats on?, however it did not spoil a fabulous afternoon we had with lovely people and wonderful music. The free buffet was a bonus.

Lovely function room upstairs, great spacious room perfect for birthdays, special occasions lots of seating. Bar area and dance floor. . Ambient lighting throughout Also features rooftop seating area

Right at the top of the high street.handy to call in after shopping, only a couple of minutes walk to the train & bus station .staff very friendly good choice of drinks at a reasonable price.

Slow service. But clean. Polite staff.

Went there for an open mic night but the guest artist must have played for about an hour before anyone else got up and we didn't feel there was much opportunity for us to play so we left. I ordered a pint of Guinness which I have to say didn't taste too good, maybe the lines weren't clean overall a little disappointing.

Room great,DJ great,staff great,pity the food wasn't. We had ordered the cheapest for the party food, but even so it was dismal. We have had many meals in the Front Room and they have always been good, but I am sorry we didn't cater for ourselves after all. I don't think the birthday girl noticed though, she was enjoying the music!

Veg was extremly hard,basically we coulda broke our teeth off them!! Mash was as lumpy as an old matteress,yorkie puds were the rock hard aunt bessies range not homemade,and the gravy was as thin as piss water, wish id bought along my jar of bisto to put in the pot to thicken it up!!!only tried to eat is because i was starving! Will not be coming back!!

I came in expecting pub food but was absolutely shocked and delighted to find everything was homemade. We only wanted something small before tea later but wow the size was massive and absolutely yummy. Best homemade chips EVER!! Will I be back again?! Try and stop me.

Today I came in Front Room with my friends. The place was very clean and had a lovely, warm and cosy atmosphere. The staff were polite, friendly and did everything they could to accommodate me and my friends and make us feel comfortable. The food was delicious and presented well, they offered a different range of fresh homemade specials. To start, I had the soup of the day, which was tomato, basil it was fantastic. For my main I had the plated Christmas dinner, which was spot on and to finish, I had the sticky toffee pudding. After eating me and my friends sat chatting and had a few drinks, we didn't feel rushed to leave like in some places. Overall, the whole experience was excellent. I would definitely recommend and will 100% be returning. 10/10

Just been in for a family meal... have to say the food was spot on... they have a new chef and that makes it a great place to eat.... highly recommended for Sunday lunch... just delish. Every one should try out this place... very pleased with the service and the staff are so friendly.. 5 stars.

Came here with my friends for a meal. I had the soup of the day to start, which was roasted parsnip and Garlic, it was lovely. For my main I had cottage pie from the specials board, It was fresh and delicious. Staff were polite and friendly. Would definitely go again.

Friendly staff great for families one of the few places that do a carvery in Rhyl wheelchair access and unlike a lot of places tables are not crammed together so plenty of room for wheelchairs and pushchairs

Didn't like it food not to great

Popped in to watch the boxing. The base from the music upstairs was so loud that it was vibrating through the ceiling downstairs and made for a terrible atmosphere. The venue was dead with literally only a few people. Toilets are dirty and smelly. Whilst talking to a friend about the boxing I was shocked to see the owner of the venue verbally and extremely aggressively shout at and lunge towards a female member of staff. What seemed to be his friend, stepped in to try to stop him. However, he did not stop shouting at the top of his voice and we genuinely thought he was going to physically attack her. It was very shocking, he appeared to have been drinking and seemed totally out of control. We left pretty quickly after this and would never go back to such a volatile establishment with an owner who behaves in such a way towards women.

Awful idiot of a barman brought wrong order chef forgot it was supposed to be breakfast sandwich ridiculous toilet filthy and this is at 11am, in morning bad choice I

Attended the Front Room yesterday (Thursday) for lunch with my family. Customer service was excellent, couldnt have attended to my needs any better. Anything i asked for wasnt any trouble for the staff. I must say the carvery was the best carvery ive been to. The meat was succulent and full of flavour. The roast potatoes were to die for!! I would of had a full plate of them if i could. My mother had a Mixed Grill and said it was delicious and my mum is the one to be fussy when eating out. Asking for a swap and change on 2 items was also hassle free everything was catered to our needs. My daughter doesnt normally eat alot when we go out and this time she ate everything and still had room for desserts! Highly recommend this restaurant and i cant wait to go again next weekend. Staff were friendly and approachable and even made an effort with the children when ordering. Credit to the restaurant!!

I’ve been here for carvery many times, always enjoyed it and found it good value for money, today the food was way below standard,cold raw carrots, roast potatoes I couldn’t even break in half, burnt stuffing, I decided to request a refund before I’d even filled the plate, the staff were friendly and was just waiting on confirmation from the boss to issue us with a refund, as we were waiting I’d said if I’d served food like that I’d expect it to be sent bk, during this time the chef was removing the food to either replace or heat, the manager then approached us with our refund then we were told due to the passing comments about the chef we’d like for you not to return, I never made any passing comments about the chef not a single one and to be asked not to return for something as ridiculous as that Is just pathetic, the place is dead most the time and you wonder why, but like I said I’ve never had a problem before until today and everything was being dealt with properly until that happened, I get you can’t plz ppl all the time but today’s experience would never have put us off returning in the future if we was told we couldn’t anyway, maybe don’t take complaints to heart so much!

Called in after seeing the carvery advertised outside as serving fresh veg,I was not dissapointed the staff member serving was so helpful and friendly we were a family of 6 and were made to feel nothing was too much trouble my granddaughter wanted to change her just potato filling to one not on the kids menu staff said not a problem , so a very happy girl thoroughly enjoyed her meal .the carvery was fresh and perfectly cooked , everyone cleared there plates ,very reasonable prices for very tasty food ,was very quiet so think it's a hidden gem I'm happy to tell everyone about

Food ok. Lovely homemade chips but sandwiches are tiny and not really worth the price. Burgers are delicious.

Firstly just want to say I'm not the type of person who leaves bad reviews all the time and usually try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but absolutely fuming with the way I've been treated. Booked a table for the family to surprise my wife for her birthday. Spoke with 3 different people on two separate occasions and had a table booked for Sunday 17:00. Was on the way down with my wife when I received a call from my mothering law only to be told that they had arrived and been told that no table had been reserved as no deposit had been payed. This was the first I'd heard anything about having to pay a deposit. Rang up and was told that they thought the table had been booked as a prank??? Do people even do that? How would that even be funny? To cut a long story short, we had to phone around and try and get a table for 15 people at short notice and my plan to surprise my wife was ruined. Really couldn't believe the attitude of the person I spoke to they just tried to make out that I hadnt booked it properly coz I was cut off the first time I called. told them I rang back straight after I was cut and again a few days after that and the lady made out that I was lying. What an absolute joke and a shambles of a place. Absolutely gutted about not being able to surprise my wife on our first birthday as a married couple, will never get that back now.

Called in here as was impressed with the reviews OMG DID WE MAKE A MISTAKE we met friends from Glasgow down on holiday and decided to go for somthing to eat .My god was I sorry the managerss was having a good skinfull at the bar with some of her cronies not very professional. We ordered fish and chips and 4 other meals only to be told it's a new chef will ask him if he has any lol the bar man said no fish so my husband didnt fancy anything eles on the menu .The rest of us waited almost 1 hour for a light lunch and when it arrived it was awful I only wanted a baked potato and tuna and it was frozen in the middle HOW CAN YOU GET A BAKED POTATO SO WRONG my friend order lasagne and garlic bread and it was a slice of bread with butter unbelievable .Needless to say we returned everything .The manageress was not in the least interested couldn't get back to her wine quick enough NEVER AGAIN STAY CLEAR OF THIS HOLE

I was in town for a feed to set me up for a few pints on a Saturday lunch time, heading for my 'go to' chippy, Les & Rita's. Walking past the Front Room, something caught my eye as I noticed that they had the carvery going on so decided to have that instead. A bit of veg never did anyone any harm, right? You have a choice of 10" or 12" plates. I ordered my pint and 10" ticket (£6.95 I think) and the lady, who I believe to be the Land Lady/Manager asked me where I'd like to sit. It was quite warm, so I said I like to sit by the door for some cool air, but she told me that there was air conditioning in the back room & that suits me. She's a very accommodating person, she told me to go and choose a seat and she would bring my drink over. There's a new Chef on the carvery, I was given the choice of Beef, Gammon or Pork. There was Cauliflower, Roasted Parsnips, Broccoli, Mashed Potato, Glazed Carrots, Roast Potatoes, Yorkshire Pudding, Stuffing. All the veg is freshly prepared, it's obvious that nothing is from a frozen packet. There were four condiments, horseradish sauce, apple sauce, cranberry sauce, and I'm struggling to remember the fourth as I went straight for the horseradish having chosen Beef. Might have been mint. Help yourself to the gravy too, which was a good gravy. This place is not as busy as it should be, the food is very nice & I'd recommend the carvery. I've had it about half a dozen times now and never had anything other than a good one.

Great place to hang out and party

I went on Easter Sunday with my friend and Grandsons. We had been previously and were dissapoited that due to staffing problems we weren't able to eat. We were assured that this was a one off and we were glad we gave it another chance. It was recommended to me by a work colleague and we weren't dissapoited. The carvery had an excellent choice of fresh veg and delicious roast and mast potatoes and good choice of meats. This is definitely the best carvery we have been to. The stall were lovely, especially our waitres and manager who were very friendly. Can't wait to go back. Free parking in morrisons just across the road

Came here while staying in Prestatyn we both had rump steak with jacket and homemade onion rings which was very nice,nice & clean modern place friendly staff.

The worst meal on valantine day we have ever had and will not be going there again

Says it has Carvery and its on offer Monday till Thursday but they dont do it untill Thursday due to being quite. Some other foods were not available due to no deliver. But what they did have was good.

Nice atmosphere friendly people who work there and the food was lovely.

I had a burger which was awful and cold with reheated chips, my partner had a steak which he said was ok but waited 20 minutes for his sauce and my mother in law had a jacket potato which she said was fine. Major problem being my mother in law had a pint of cider and from the first sip said it tasted funny, resulting in the next 24 hours vomiting. This was the only place she had eaten/drank at that day.

I've just cleared my plate of Steak and Ale Pie, and I have to say it was one of the best I've ever had. If the rest of the food on the menu is up to this standard then I'll definitely be back! Great venue, service excellent. Highly recommended!

Called in bank holiday Sunday without booking and had the carvery which was excellent, with a choice of three meats and a great variety of veg. Very reasonable prices, and all staff were very pleasant Will definitely call again

Mi esposa y yo tuvimos una almuerzo especial 2 por 10 libras los disfrutamos, también personal es educado y amable, me gustó tanto que llamé de nuevo más tarde en la semana y tuvimos una segunda comida, muy limpio me encantó las patatas fritas caseras.

Llegó aquí como el novio era tratarme, el barman no podría haber sido más amable! Muy agradable y amable y nada era demasiado problema. Tuve Mixed Grill y compañero tenía gambas y patatas fritas. La comida era increíble! ! Parecía precioso y sabía aún mejor! ! He estado en la búsqueda de fichas decente que son caseros, mi favorito, desde finales de los años 90 cuando el café Russell Road cerrado! Ahora he encontrado patatas fritas, que son incluso mejores. El chef salió a hora todo estaba bien, que me pareció precioso. Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar y volveremos de nuevo más a menudo ahora también comida como bebida - gran ambiente! !

As it was a Sunday and we were on holiday looked for a place that did carverys.Going into the Front Room the place was very quiet with only a few dinners.After getting the carvery which was really lovely we were surprised that there were not more people in as the place was clean and staff friendly. Any one reading this and are in the area should seek out the Front Room and enjoy a lovely meal at very good prices

We have over the last couple of years tried MANY restaurants in and around Rhyl and this IS the first one were we can say we really enjoyed the meals we had,the first time we had the carvery and it was very good everything was fresh and nice and hot.The second time we had a cooked breakfast and again there was plenty and all cooked fresh as we waited but not for long,the people in there were nice and friendly and were keen to ensure we had a nice meal.

Went fathers day and every Sunday lovely fresh food kind staff lovely surrounding clean no micrawaved all fresh the owners lovely people would highly recommend

pre booked for 12 people for a father's day meal we and to wait half an hour for fresh food from the carvery which was cold and like mush no management around they clearly don't care about the astabishmen the staff were lovely and tried there best to help and ended up refunding us and we had to go elsewhere there were lots of people complaining please avoid like the plague !!

My partners meal had raw chips. My carvery was stone cold. All meals came out at different times before needing to be sent back. Waiting staff handled it brilliantly and couldn't have been more apologetic. Kitchen staff let them down though. Meal returned twice before we gave up and got refund. Carvery that was cold had not been cleared by the time we left

Exellent staff are always great

The Front Room, Rhyl. A venue with the idea of providing home comforts, entertainment, good beer. However, that idea must have been lost in translation. Having visited a number of times, I have sampled much of what they have to offer. I can hand on heart say I am yet to receive a beer that tastes anywhere near decent. The carvery that offer on a regular bases is often overcooked. The place on the whole is mostly empty. The one thing that had me refrain from giving 1 Star, is the staff. Who for the most part are friendly.

Nice friendly pub but abit on the expensive side

The beer served in this place is absolutely disgusting it tastes foul. The member of staff that served me looked like she needed a good wash i will not return.
