Breakfast was simply very poor. Toast which had obviously been kept warm in the oven. The scrambled eggs was just that, nothing but eggs. The sausage had more wrinkles than a stewed prune, again kept hot for hours if not re-heated from yesterday. A nice cup of coffee was the only saviour. That said, it’s not the first time breakfast has been poor but today was the last visit to eat.

Been coming here for years and food always been good value but felt very let down with lunch on our latest visit. Both had a cheese and onion toastie which we have had many times and always enjoyed but now seem to be cutting corners. The bread size seems to have shrunk and the cheese was nearly non existent, certainly very disappointing. May give this cafe a miss if this is the way things are going.

Came with family for lunch service was non existent, 3 of 4 of the meals chosen were not available, would have helped if they had let us know before we were paying at the counter. The response from the cashier was just to laugh. Limited cutlery available .Eating with a spoon and knife is interesting. No water available butter not given with a roll and butter. Bacon very rubbery. Won’t bother returning.

You have to be careful when going for beef, but all their other food looked so good I decided to risk it. It was so tough it was inedible. The carrots were hardly cooked and were very hard. I ate the potatoes and the Yorkshire pudding, that was all. When I complained I was told no chance of even a partial refund but I could have a cake to take home! Not impressed by the staff attitude - I just wish I’d chosen something else to eat. They certainly do need to go on a customer relations course though! Not impressed!

I have just returned from having Sunday lunch and was very disappointed that the pork didn’t come with stuffing or apple sauce, when I asked was told not today. The beef did not come with Yorkshire pudding and the portion size was only fit for a child. The cabbage was virtually raw and gravy very watery. Overall I do not think it was value for money.I would not return for Sunday lunch or recommend to friends and family.

First visit to Strawberry Fields Restaurant, but will definitely not be our last! Two carvery dinners, one steak pie with chips and garden peas, one gluten free steak casserole with chips and garden peas and one children's box meal of sandwich, crisps, yogurt, fruit, flapjack & drink. Carvery was nice, but I have had better, then again, price wise it was very reasonable. Steak in pie and casserole was melt in the mouth tender, delicious, chips were also very good. Orange in the children's box meal was a little tough inside, but the rest of the food was fine. All at reasonable prices too, and contrary to what some people have said, we found the staff to be polite, helpful and friendly, Of course, a lot has to do with how people treat waiting on staff, if you speak to them as though they're dirt, you're not likely to get a friendly response!

We often eat at Strawberry Fields and are never disappointed. Large portions of good quality ingredients well cooked and very pleasant staff and service. However fancying a change we lunched in a nearby Holt cafe today and as our meal there was so unsatisfactory we stopped at Bellis for a post lunch coffee. My husband had a lovely slice of apple pie with cream which was an excellent end to our unfortunate lunch experience and considerably less expensive. We will not stray again!!!

This used to be our go to place for a coffee/breakfast or lunch but never again. This place is still behaving in exactly the same way as they did when the first lockdown ended. So unfriendly & so slow. Rang to book a table for this morning for a coffee for 5 of us and I was told it was full! I then said well we’re happy to sit outside but no 5 yes 5 people can’t sit outside on one table but they can inside. Rules for rules sake. So we can’t come for a coffee this morning because you’re full. Well we’re not full but we’re full for bookings! So we can come for a coffee? Possibly. Service is atrocious nowadays so clearly they’re still happy to furlong staff. I’m happy to have a table for a limited time but not when everything takes ages. Took 15 minutes to pay today with a 2 & 3 year old child hanging around. This is not a Wales thing this is Bellis thing making a mountain out of a molehill.

We had a gift voucher for cream tea for two as a Fathers Day present. The service was okay, but the servings were minute for the cost of the voucher. We had the equivalent of four rounds of bread, two scones, and a pot of tea. We had to ask for plates and cutlery. The sandwiches and scones whilst tasty we’re hardly our idea of a cream tea. If l had had to pay the £16.00 the voucher cost my son, this review would have been more critical. The meanest cream tea we have ever had.

Firstly this is my take on the strawberry fields break fast and everyone has different views.Restaurant was not busy as we were early, and our food took about 15 ish mins, it was freshly cooked.Outstanding items to me were the black pudding and the sausage (although if a choice I would not choose a leek sausage)Tomato, toast, egg and bacon, these items were nicely seasoned and cooked.Letting the dish down in my view were the mushrooms and beans to me both these items appeared tasteless.Value for money - yes, when all the items are tasty.

My friend and I decided to go out locally for lunch and chose this particular restaurant as it is part of a garden centre/shop so we could browse first. The staff are very friendly, the restaurant large and extremely clean but it is constantly busy so sometimes tables are at a premium, the food is very well cooked and presented. Prices are reasonable. It is a help-yourself restaurant as opposed to waitress service so it is advisable to find a vacant table before you buy your food or you may end up holding a loaded tray with nowhere to sit to eat what' on it!! We will definitely go back again and next time I will sample the scrumptious-looking breakfast!

This is a nice cafe with good food but the staff and the rules make it a very unpleasant experience. You can’t take your bike round the back even though there was not a soul there, when asked the reason why the answer was “ other people with bikes may follow you” don’t they want customers then? A lot of cyclists would use the cafe but they are made to feel very unwelcome. Dogs aren't allowed either even in the outside area. Every time I have visited the staff are very unhelpful and seem to make up stupid rules for instance not being able to use the back entrance. I had a sandwich which included a ramekin dish of crisps which were stale as they would be if they had been there a while, i tried to ask a waitress to change them but as you approach them they look straight through you as if to say “don’t ask me”. I eventually asked a waitress if she could change them , which she did and when she brought them back she told me that if I needed anything else to go to the counter, queue up again, just to ask a simple question, obviously just can’t be bothered to help anyone. Everyone that I have asked about the cafe say the same about the staff, it’s as if they make up rules just to be awkward.

We eat here quite regularly and never have had a problem but today was a real let down. We called in for plants and bits and pieces from the farm shop. As it was lunchtime we decided to stay for lunch. I ordered quiche with jacket potato and salad, husband ordered his usual pie and chips and my friend ordered scampi and chips. We did not have to wait too long before our food arrived. My meal was on a plate so small that I did not have room to cut anything without bits falling onto the table. I was given a bigger one from the counter and started my meal. Normally the quiche is well cooked and delicious but today I thought it was undercooked and not appetising, the potato was hard in the middle. I left most of my meal which was really annoying as I hate to waste money. The pie was as usual was good but the chips were not very hot. I hope this is just a one off as normally it's clean plates all round . We will eat here again but come on Try and get it right next time please.

Could not believe that they are charging £1.95 for a custard tart (4 for £1 in Sainsburys - also made with free range eggs!) and £2.95 for a vanilla slice. Yes VAT on cakes supplied in the course of catering but that still does not account for such a massive difference in price. People must be mad to pay these prices. Absolutely no justification for it. I've eaten here many times with my family and had good food. We visited on Saturday 28th November so my children could go and see the reindeers that were visiting for the weekend. The place was very busy and I decided to order a cooked breakfast. What came was a huge disappointment. It arrived without an egg so I sent it back. The egg that they put on had obviously been kept under a heat lamp for a very long time as it was hard and the white was going brown where the heat lamp was burning it. It also taste like boiled egg which is a sure sign that it has been in hot holding for too long. The black pudding had a rock hard crust on where it too had been held under heat lamps for too long. The bacon was dry and covered in white 'goo' which showed it was very cheap bacon. It was only when other people around me had breakfasts brought to them that I realised that my breakfast had been missing the beans from the plate. All in all a really poor effort at a cooked breakfast. I expect more from them with the way they shout about their on site butchers. I don't think we'll be going back in a hurry.

As I say, we have been here probably half a dozen times this year and it's always been great.

It is a place to get nice decent food in a timely manner and a nice place to sit and eat, it does what it says on the tin.

Just returned from a visit to Bellis Bros Farm Shop, we decided to visit the Strawberry Fields Restaurant whilst there, as it looked amazing and I had heard very positive reviews about it. We decided to order the full all day breakfast, along with a portion of door stop toast, with jam. The food at the counter looked amazing, fresh colourful and very appetising, so we were really looking forward to our breakfast. Once ordered I sat down and firstly realised I hadn't received any change, so returned to the till and explained the situation, they didn't question me and gave me my change. The breakfast arrived, and we were greatly disappointed, the bacon was dry and hard, along with the egg, far from freshly cooked! And the extra toast arrived minus the jam it was supposed to come with, had to ask for that too, so all in all very disappointing. The setting, views and rest of the food looked great, what a shame ours let us down!

Enjoyed our meal sitting outside on a lovely sunny day- I had a jacket potato with chicken and my little girl ( 20 months) had a selection from the children's choice section- sandwiches, cheese and crackers, fruit, cakes- lots of choice. We have been before and always enjoy our snacks- prosecco and strawberries sounded lovely! Maybe next time :)

Looked at mixed reviews and guess most is about communication/service when people have been let down in their expectations . Reckon that during the holiday season the usual staff are away and an army of 'students' or the like are dependent upon to deliver what you want and need which I have discovered recently at a number of eating places . However, usually this is a great place to eat before or after shopping in the deli, veg shop, nick knack areas , self pick strawberries or for plants etc. Given that they have a lot of produce on hand , choosing seasonal 'specials' is a no brainer I reckon and usually very satisfactory .

We often go into Strawberry Fields for a coffee or a meal. Unfortunately we were disappointed on our last visit. We ordered battered fish and chips. About 15 mins after we ordered we were told that this had sold out and were offered plaice instead. I agreed to this but my Husband asked for braised beef pie. When our food eventually came it was 2 x plaice. We said the order wasn't correct and asked how long it would take to replace. The waitress didn't know so we just had the 2 fish. We were then approached and apologised to and offered a free pud. My Husband just wanted to eat our meal and go. Not sure if we'll eat here again but will keep going for coffee.

If you like to be spoken to like a child this is the place for you .In a queue of ten people all waiting for hot food I just wanted one drink i made the mistake of moving around them to pay I was told in a very loud voice I could not do that, and go at the back of the queue (this was said to make me feel embarrassed and the one in change feel important ) Well done very important lady I have over the years spent large sums of money in the garden centre never again will you have my custom

We ordered 3 cheese and onion toasties. Opened up the toasties to find a few bits of grated cheese and a couple of slices of onion. I am seriously not joking!! The meals were taken back and returned to us with the cheese oozing out which it should have been in the first place. The toasties were tasty but not worth the £4.25 that we paid. Also had a latte which was very nice. Won't be rushing back.

Friendly staff and nice cup of tea. I had blue cheese and mushroom melt on potato wedges, which was disappointing; the wedges were a bit Gary and hard and it was all a bit greasy and tasteless. My two family members enjoyed their meals though and the salad garnish was tasty. They had a panini and Welsh rarebit.

Called in the restaurant when shopping with a friend for an unscheduled lunch and they had liver and bacon on the menu. An unusual addition on a menu but oohh!! it was delicious. The gravy was thick and full of flavour. (compliments to the chef) Highly recommended. It's always worth a visit to Bellis's food hall and the butchers is excellent.

My self and my partner visited the restaurant the other week and was surprised on the quality of food I ordered the burger which was local beef from the farm shop and stacked high with bacon and cheese and a good helping of chips which were slightly cool but still delicious, i asked for extra beans on my plate which wasn't a problem but cost me an extra pound which was a bit steep but nether the less a generous helping ! my fiancé ordered the prawn jacket potato which was on the slightly small side but was loaded with prawns and lovely mari rose sauce and a freshly prepared side salad and apparently the best coleslaw she had ever tasted ! I ordered filter coffee which in all fairness was a bit stale and had been siting on the heater for some i think. but all in all for £15 all in it was very good quality food. Service well if your after table service and a chat with the staff you have no chance they are too busy and the service to be seems very informal, a case of what do you want to order, here is your table number here is your food thats about as far as it goes. Taking all in to account i defiantly would recommend the place for the food alone delicious and if the management where to address these small niggles (thats all they are) it would be the best place for lunch in the area good work !!

Compared to competition in the near vicinity this garden centre doesn’t carry the range of plants, shrubs of gardening paraphernalia however the restaurant leaves the ‘other place’ in its wake.I read in other contributions negative comments about the service however my experience indicated that staff service was excellent and if anything it was customers who were indecisive and delaying the smooth flow past the self service counter,I had the “Stacked High” a beef burger with cheese, bacon, onion rings, chips and salad which was cooked to order and delivered to the table. While waiting for my food I was able to read a complimentary newspaper, and my Wife checked her emails logging on to the complimentary WiFi.It was an early autumn day cool outside but one wall of the restaurant area gives a panoramic view of the farmland outside. Very much appreciated and an all round pleasant experience

Very. Very poor. Waited 40 minutes for Sunday meal. We had to ask twice and it appeared they had mislaid our order. Like other reviews the tables were dirty and not being cleared. Too many youngsters serving who didn't appear to care. The supervisors on the Sunday couldn't cope. Really is this your normal standard....

When I'm in Wrexham, I always make a point of eating at Bellis's. The food is usually good, and there's a nice shop to look around before and after. Today, however, was way off the usual mark. Our table had salt all over it, and we noticed that the waiters clearing didn't possess a cloth, so they would clear a table and walk away, leaving the detritus of previous meals in situ. Then, although the restaurant was only half full, it took 30 minutes for our meals to arrive. When they did, we asked for the wifi password; and were told it - but couldn't connect because "the wifi password is incorrect". We thought about having dessert, but having waited 30 minutes for our food, and watched as others suffered similarly, we didn't want to risk it.The food was okay, but nothing to write home about. I'll be giving Bellis a miss next time I'm visiting.

We visited the cafe on Saturday for lunch as we've done many times before. This time however we were greeted by countless dirty tables filled with pots. We sat at one expecting someone to come and clear it for us but no one arrived! We waited 25 minutes for our food and when it arrived expected the young man to realise the table was still full of the last diners pots but no! He simply put our food down and proceeded to walk away! I called him back and asked if he'd mind clearing the table which he did. No wiping though, too much to ask! Very disappointed Bellis' - you can do better.

The fact that the Strawberry Fields Restaurant is always full at lunchtime is testament to the quality and good value of the food served. The self service selection of home cooked food is tempting. Today the hot quiches looked delicious but the hot paninis were also good, I can recommend the chicken, bacon and cheese or the hot pork, stuffing and apple sauce. The food is served promptly to the table by pleasant staff, and the large windows overlooking the view towards the Welsh hills make for a delightful lunch experience.

Don’t we all love a spoons? Had a lot of good times in the north and south bank spent with friends. Very good value and the food is surprisingly nice. Sometimes the queue can be edging on the ludicrous on a Saturday night but that’s the same with everywhere. The only real downside is that it isn’t open 24/7!

This pub is no longer an Indian Restaurant/ Pub It has been taken over by a very reputable company and is being run brilliantly by Nancy Jones and her under manager Gemma. Mike has been kept on because of his excellent input. The pub has been rejuvenated since the new regime , and now is a truly Community pub. I have been regularly using this pub for 52 years and have not seen it this good since the days of the Moores and Bob and Sue. Good luck to the new management and roll on when the kitchen re-opens even if it’s only for bar snacks.

Great service prices seem to have increased though, same as everwhere. Never get the half a chicken order right, they nearly always give you garlic sauce and coleslaw even if you ask for gravy and peas.
