Don’t we all love a spoons? Had a lot of good times in the north and south bank spent with friends. Very good value and the food is surprisingly nice. Sometimes the queue can be edging on the ludicrous on a Saturday night but that’s the same with everywhere. The only real downside is that it isn’t open 24/7!

My wife and I usually visit the wetherspoons on regent street however they were unusually busy so decided to try The North and South Wales Bank. Ordered the pizza deal and it was very underwhelming. Dough was raw in the middle, missing toppings and the tables where disgustingly sticky. Service was just as lacklustre. All staff very rude. When I asked for a clean glass for my wife’s wine I was met with rolling eyes and a snappy response. The gentlemen’s toilets were an absolute shambles. The floor was completely covered in what I can only assume was urine judging by the smell. Doesn’t deserve a star truly disgusting.

We visited North&south wales bank on a Tuesday night the pub was very busy so we found a table and I went to the bar to order a drink,I could not believe it they had one chap serving and one girl serving table orders I waited about 10 minutes and on two occasions customers just went straight to the bar and got served straight away when I was expected to carry on waiting. You could tell that the bar man had nothing about him so I suppose what do you expect and we will not be back in the future.

We had breakfast here one morning it was fairly quiet as it was early, but for a man in there working, but I don't suppose there's a right or wrong time to do your job. The man behind the bar was really welcoming, & we got served our breakfast in no time at all. Why are the baked beans always cold though? 🤔. Nevertheless we had 2 breakfasts & as many T's as we liked (we just had the 1) for under a tenner. Wether's prices are indeed unbeatable! The accessible toilet was awful & although they had a chart on the wall to say that it had been cleaned at 7am & 8am, it didn't look like it had been cleaned in quite a while! There was urine all over the floor & my boots were sticking, the smell was awful too, not just urine but someone had clearly been smoking in there. The place itself was nice & looked quite clean, but the bog really put me off returning.

Great service, lovely staff,as always, and the food is always spot on. However, why the insistence on showing horse racing all the time? Its cruel, and the only people that like it are tories and old men with red noses. I understand that you can't show the footy, which is fine, but what's wrong with a bit of bargain hunt or homes under the hammer? X

This isn't the first time this has happened but what I don't get is you ask for eggs benedict and they say they have none so I said poached egg on toast then say we can do fried or scrambled?.. Makes ya laugh that ya if you have a chef that's cooking you telling me they can't do poached egg only fry or scrambled? Also skimpy on the butter..

Whilst in Wrexham today having been to hospital for my son’s cardiology appointment we had to get some bits for my daughter to get ready to go back to school. While we were shopping the heavens opened and my son was crying for a feed we called in here and I asked if I could please take a seat and feed my 14 week old son he is exclusively breastfeeding, I was told no. When my partner explained we would be no trouble and would be a short time we were once again refused. My partner then said it’s pouring out and you want my Mrs to sit in the rain to feed our son and he replied “I don’t care” and we were told to leave. I am absolutely disgusted by this. His attitude was disgusting and there was roughly 15 people inside and there was plenty of areas that I could have sat and fed my son. I will never step foot in this place again and will be encouraging everyone I know to also stay away. I suggest maybe some customer service training and possibly a human decency class.... I really hope this never happens to anyone else. 😡😡😡

I was very disappointed in the phone call I made to this branch this morning regarding the recent press release that three members of staff have been tested positive for Covid-19. I explained that I visited on the 10th August 2020 for one drink only,I was waiting to visit another restaurant nearby and was killing time with my family and this was the first place we saw. When I entered I was not approached or asked to complete any track or trace items, I took it upon myself to complete a paper which was posted in a unsanitary cardboard box. We left within 30 minutes as the way in which the person at the entrance (blonde female) was conducting herself shd the nature of the clients was appalling and not an environment o wished to stay in. When I called today at 11.30am I spoke to the duty manager Mel Debbis who was very patronising abd disinterested in my concerns, even thought I explained my husband is a NHS nurse and I work with adults with many disabilities and are classed as vulnerable In fact her advice was that all the data has been passed onto the relevant organisation and terminated my call by putting the phone down on me. I was horrified. I called back to ask for the name of the person who I had just spoken too and was interrogated by my call and who I was. I was then provided with a telephone number for customer services which is currently not taking calls. This just exemplifies their commitment abd attitude to keeping their staff and moreso customers safe. Please DO NOT visit, go elsewhere. We visited at Nags Head where their commitment to ensuring everyone is kept safe is excellent

The north and south wales bank Wetherspoons is unique compared to other Wetherspoons, reason being is they are allowed to play sports and music which means wether is rugby, football or the horse races are on you are bound to get and amazing atmosphere here. Whenever we order food it comes prompt and is always prepared to the highest of standards and tastes wonderful! Coming to Wrexham for a night out? be sure to start your night here before heading off to the clubs! There 2 pitchers for £10 seems to be the favourite choice within the group!

Having just spent the night under canvas, with the rain being continuous and extreme, the party felt as though they needed something to cheer us up. A Wetherspoon's breakfast!! So we set off to the nearby Wrexham, and checked the app. to find this to be our nearest venue. The food was well up to the company's usual standard, and raised the mood greatly. Service was efficient, the staff friendly, so it hit the spot. We then had to suffer the wind, not from the food, but due to the weather. No wonder the BBC advised people not to camp.

On a recent Friday tea-time, me and Hubby decided to have a meal here. The building is very impressive. It used to be The North & South Wales Bank (formed in 1836). It merged with Midland Bank in 1908. There is a defunct safe deposit box still in situ on the front of the building. I ordered and paid at the bar. The barman was very helpful and cheerful. He gave us our drinks straight away. Hubby had a mug of tea and I had a double pink gin and slimline tonic with ice & a strawberry. The meals were served promptly. Hubby had 3 sausages, a good portion of chips but only a small spoonful of beanz. I was pleased with my mediterranean veggie lasagne, chips, salad and creamy dressing (in a separate pot).

Love a spoons conversion so was looking forward to seeing this old bank. On entering it felt hollow- a huge tall room with no atmosphere, staff were efficient but lacking in warmth. Granted the walk to the pub involved passing many drug induced groups - the police appeared to be checking them over, so we weren’t too sure about Wrexham in general but other pubs seemed to be able to create a welcoming atmosphere. Come on spoons, give this place a facelift.

I don't usually do online reviews but just wanted to say thank you again for last night. I rang the pub as we were after a booking for 22 people. Two other local pubs / restaurants had said they were too busy to accommodate our party but with just half an hour's notice this Wetherspoons / Lloyds pub managed to host us. Im not surprised to see so many nice reviews on here and knowing what we do now this should definitely have been our first choice rather than our third. We were welcomed to a number of tables set up in an L-shape in the middle of the floor that had been reserved for us and set up with menus and condiments. The pub was fairly busy but Alex who served us was friendly and efficient and quickly dealt with our drinks and food orders. The other young lad behind the bar was also helpful and courteous with other members of our group.Despite other groups also ordering food at the same time, we all had ours delivered to the table within 15 minutes and it was excellent. Some of our kids are quite fussy but they ate the lot and I really enjoyed the sirloin steak. The duty manager couldn't do enough for us and he, along with the other two lads, both seemed like they put a shift in as they ran round clearing up after everyone in between serving groups of drinkers. I was told with a little more advance warning we could have had the stage or small room at the rear of the pub sectioned off for ourselves and we will be sure to phone through earlier and return to the pub when we are next in the area.Julie Powell

Not the best atmosphere in a pub restaurant that we have been in but don't let this put you off. As others left we moved into a secluded seating at the back where there are more comfy seats ( although these could do with a spring clean). Me, my partner and my younger sibling had lunch here on Saturday. We arrived for around 12.15 and the restaurant was already nearly full. This is not the biggest wetherspoons by far and would suggest this is a more of a drinking pub. We found an empty table however there was no table in the whole place that didn't have dirty plates or cups on. We ordered at the bar, this was after about ten minutes as the staff were letting all the locals push in first and serving them. When food arrived, I asked the lady to wipe the table which she did with no problem. However ordered three meals and only brought two lots of cutlery, ordered the tikka masala however never came with the mango chutney. Ordered a side of baked beans which came in a pot with the curry. Asked for the mango chutney and was just given the bottle, not that this was a problem.A good meal but ruined by lots of little mistakes and staff that were happier chatting with local punters than looking after valuable customers. I'm a big spoons fan but won't be returning to this one.

Extremely busy, but staff still very quick to keep queues down, and keeping glasses cleared. Well done to all. Toilets also were very clean. Well done to all and the manager for running such a well oiled machine.

I have reviewed this location before so will keep this one brief. Visited this branch of Wetherspoons on Saturday 26th Sept with a group of friends to watch the Rugby World Cup matches. They have what I am told is the biggest screen in North Wales so its perfect for watching sports. It became very busy just after 3pm, when we ordered food it arrived quickly and as always piping hot. The atmosphere for the games was unbelievable and the bar service was quick considering. The staff were as friendly as ever.I maybe considered strange, but I think the standard of the toilets is a good measure of any establishment. Given the number of people in the bar watching the rugby matches (300+) I have to say the toilets were very clean. Sad to say I took photographs and that of the check list when staff have been in and checked. I even asked my wife to check the ladies...Things I do for Tripadvisor :-)I just wanted to share this as I had not done so before.Well done again to all the staff for an excellent experience, great service and fantastic atmosphere.

Recommended for reliably good edible food. Helpful and friendly staff. This is not fine dining but the food is excellent value for money, hot and of consistent quality. Good choice and good choice of real ales at great prices.

The reason this Weatherspoons establishment should be renamed is that John Buchan wrote a famous book called 'The Thirty Nine Steps', and that is the number of steps you have to climb to reach the toilets! That apart it is a friendly place and well supported by the locals. If you have tender ears or are a lady this not the place for you, the language I heard was ripe to say the least! For a good pint of Ruddles at £1.65 this is the place.

Another great experience at this pub/restaurant, although part of a chain you are made to feel like a local. Staff are always helpful and attentive, nothing seems to much trouble. I called in advance and they even kept tables for us. You can eat at the tables on the main floor or in a private booth. I have yet to be disappointed with the food. Last time we visited we had a party of 12 and ALL commented on how good the food and service was. There is a varied menu and speciality nights during the week. There is also a good selection of Real Ales for the connoisseur. The children took advantage off the free WiFi, while my wife and our friends enjoyed their meals and beverages.I have been here on many occasions from the busiest sporting events on the big screen, wickedly hilarious Karaoke on Sundays down to a quieter relaxing afternoon refresher and lunch. This is truly one of the best if not the best all round pub in Wrexham. I cannot praise the staff enough and hope they continue their hard work, dedication and commitment to customer service. It is noticed and does make a difference.

Called here after a weekend away in Anglesey. Busy but still free tables. I ordered the Welsh sausage and mash and my bf had the chicken Sunday dinner...both were fab! Friendly and helpful staff...served by Chris who was very knowledgeable about the real ales and also had a chat with us about local ales+ciders. I've been disappointed in my local Wetherspoons (Hyde) recently but this was an example of ehat they do well. Will visit again if ever in the area

Do't know where to begin. I emailed this pub a couple of weeks prior to visiting to see if i could reserve a table for my family to eat ,it was my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary. Got a very quick response from the manager and it was done. On the day we called for breakfast and met up with my parents the day staff where so friendly and helpful they knew all about the table reserved for that evening. On the evening we arrived to find an area had been cordoned off for us and the table was all set up,the manager came out and greeted my family and couldnt do enough for us we where treated like royalty. All our food and drinks for the evening where brought to us we didnt even have to go to the bar once. This made a special occasion for my parents the best money couldnt buy it was fantastic and really special. Thank you to all concerned making this a night to remember.

Called in here during a night out, don't go into town that often these days, but I've seen the standard of some Wrexham pubs recently and it's dire (see my other reviews).Easily the most pleasant bar of the evening.Rapidly served, by pleasant staff, a great choice too. Nice pint, nice atmosphere, only negative was the very high volume of the music.

It is not very often that a person or circumstances compel me to pen an email or letter. However, my experience at The North & South Wales Bank in Wrexham on Saturday afternoon (30/11/14) was outstanding and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The bar staff were quick to serve and very courteous. In particular, whilst waiting for our guests to arrive my wife and I noticed a young lady (Becky) assisting a group of elderly ladies find a table, moving tables and chairs to accommodate them. Overhearing some of her comments to customers she genuinely seemed to care that everything was ok and nothing seemed too much trouble. Something rarely seen these days. Various sporting events are shown on the large screen and during rugby matches everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is fantastic. There is a good selection of drinks at reasonable prices and the food is excellent. All food was delivered to our party together, piping hot and delicious. I would have absolutely no hesitation recommending friends and family to visit for a meal or refreshment.Well done Weatherspoons and all staff at this branch…..from a happy and well impressed customer.

Got served straight away, even though the pub was very busy. My partner and I had an Angus steak which was beautiful, a really great cut and cooked exactly to my liking. Will highly recommend to my family and friends.

Had to hang around for something in the evening, so this was just the place to sit and kill some time, have a drink and a bite to eat at very competitive prices.Staff were very friendly and the venue was quite popular for a late Saturday afternoon.

I cannot fault this venue. I am a greedy bugger, had two steaks on steak night; both cooked to perfection. Waitresses very attentive to table cleanliness and customer satisfaction. Beers were tasty and can't fault price at £1.75. So good I went back the following night, experience was just as good.

I regularly ate at this pub when I was on a six week posting to Wrexham. Their daily "meal deal" is very good value for money and the food is quite good. I like the fact that one can order a meal and a drink at the bar and get served quite good food without any fuss.

Ate here with 2 kids, typical Wetherspoon pub really, 6 nations rugby on the big screen, very loud which is ok if you like rugby. Children's meals very small portions and more suited to younger children, not a hungry 11 year old who doesn't always want a large adult portion. Food arrived quite quickly and was nice. Good value, including drinks less than £25 for four people.

Tuesday "steak night" four very good meals with drinks for under £25. Can't complain about that. Food was well presented and tasty, nice atmosphere and attentive staff. Don't know how they do it for the price, a real bargain. Have already planned next visit.

Visited on a Tuesday, steak night. Excellent value. sirloin steak and chips and a glass of wine for £6. Just as good as you would pay double the price for in other eateries. Other good deals also available.

We arrived in Wrexham at around 9 on Saturday and headed straight here as planned. The breakfasts are usually good and this one was no different however the lady that served me did so with hardly a word. The food was ok however the hash browns were a little under cooked and the potato was very cubed. We returned later that night at about 8 for drinks. It was quiet busy but the bar staff were much more friendly. This is one of the few wetherspoons to have music and it was a little loud for my taste. And despite saying the served food until 10 the removed all the menus at about 9. This also meant that the drinks menu was gone. They have something to learn from other wetherspoons and can improve

Great service prices seem to have increased though, same as everwhere. Never get the half a chicken order right, they nearly always give you garlic sauce and coleslaw even if you ask for gravy and peas.

While killing time in Wrexham stumbled across this little cafe tucked away at the entrance to a arcade which leads to Wrexham Indoor Market. The patisserie is on street level but upstairs there is a little cafe which served a delicious breakfast just as your mum would make you when you were a schoolboy. Big chunks of toast followed by scrambled eggs. The coffee was excellent all for less than £10.
