An overnigth B2B during our walk of Offa's Dyke Path. Accomadtion very good and comfortable. The restaurant and bar (dogs allowed) was a fanastic setting for an eveing aroud the fire place quaffing a few beers after a long day's trek in the rain on the Offa Dyke

We were really disappointed with the pizzas. The dough was poor, one of our 4 pizzas was practically inedible and none of them were good. Dough was flat, wasn't proved properly and was cooked badly. It's such a shame as we used to go a lot and were excited to return after a break. Service was good but the food was disappointing. Really sad to have to write this review, wish it was better as we live locally and want to support.

We had the best food , superb from start to finish and staff were excelent 23 of us and all came out together hot plates plenty of veg deserts lush Wel recomended

Stayed a few days in Aberdaron and visited this place a couple of times. Staff were lovely and the food….the food!! The minted lamb pasty, the spice curried cauliflower pasty and the Rice Krispie cakes were just heaven. Thanks for putting a smile on our faces…😎

We have been to Caban several times and have enjoyed the food. The menu has changed but not for the better. The salad bowl is a misnomer: one third potato, one third pasta and one third grated carrot. The menu on tripadvisor is nothing like the actual menu. I didn’t check the ingredients for the salad bowl on the specials’ board but had expected a proper salad similar to ones I have had in the past. We were disappointed and will not go there again.

Xmas day table booked for 2pm, we had been looking forward to it for weeks, it was busy with lots of happy families enjoying their meals, we bought drinks at the bar & were shown to our table at 1.50. Had our second round of drinks at @ 2.15, & were then told by an apologetic waitress there was only one chef cooking but our starter wouldn’t be too much longer, the soufflé arrived at 2,30, then over a hour later at 3,40 our turkey dinner was served, only one of us got the red cabbage on our plate but no one asked if everything was ok, & after waiting so long we had both lost our appetite anyway so there was a lot of waste, though the waitress did offer to box up what we had left, (thanks but no thanks) at 4,10 our desserts were served, then at 4,30 & not being offered any mince pies or coffees we decided we had had enough & went home, tbh the food when we did eventually get it was well cooked & tasty so congratulations to the poor solitary chef, but what a way to organise a sold out Christmas dinner service !! at least it only cost us @ £140 including drinks + the tip for the poor waitress, it was our first & probably last time we’ve tried dining out on Xmas day, Deliveroo next year ?

We were struggling to find a bar to have a drink and take the dog in Pwllheli, they do not appear to be so dog friendly there as they are in Porthmadog and Abersoch! We had driven past Whitehall and saw the board outside saying dogs were welcome and parked up. Hubby went inside and I then realised the board was for the pub next door so called him and we went there instead. Orla (the owner) greeted us warmly and advised it’s table service only so we sat in the beer garden and ordered some drinks. We shared with Orla the struggle to find somewhere open on a Monday and then also allowing dogs. Orla came over and told us they weren’t usually open until later in the week but as the weather was nice, thought they’d open up and see if people were about. Orla chatted with us about the area, where to go and where to avoid, she was a real fountain of knowledge and even wrote it all down for us. We’re not sure on the food experience as we didn’t eat, but please ignore the negativity in the previous review as it seems mainly based on character of the owners and to be honest, the owners were so hospitable and warm with us, I don’t get how their experience was so vastly different to ours! Orla is from Cork and has lived in Wales for many many years, go see her if you want some true advice on the area, she’ll definitely help you! Thank Orla!

Great little hotel with lovely staff. We spent new years here and it was a great evening, good food and selection of drinks. Nice atmosphere and very comfy beds.

If you like good wholesome,no nonsense food,then this pub is so worth a visit. The food is very tasty, good value for money and very large portions, great if you've just been walking etc. The menu is small, but that doesn't matter, sometimes less is more and in this case it is. We visit fairly often and this that we have recommended it to, will also be visiting again.

After being a loyal customer for years at the Empire and then the Osborne, we have been refused a booking for 12 people as we might be noisy and disturb the other diners! We originally tried to book the Osborne for 12 people 5 wks in advance but were told we could not book the table more than two weeks before the date! Then 10 days before the date we wanted, we were told that they would not accept a party greater than 8! If we’d been told that, when we made the original enquiry, we could have made alternative arrangements. I wanted to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday, we are definitely not a rowdy group. We are now struggling to find somewhere suitable and will more than likely have to put off our celebration! So disappointed.

A soggy Sunday and we have never tried Chaplins before - the welcome we got was lovely and our dog was invited in too! The menu was vast and the food we had - tuna and cheese panini and a baguette were tasty, well filled and great value for money! We have always walked past this little gem thinking it only did ice creams and coffee but we will most definitely be eating here again. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and I'm pretty sure the coleslaw we had on our plate was home made - delicious! Thank you for making us feel at home and we will be back! ;-)

Can really recommend this delightful Cafe/tapas bar. The owner is delightful - so welcoming and charismatic. We only had drinks but the food looked amazing. Our dog was made very welcome too. Will definitely return

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch, great service from the 2 young ladies, absolute compliment to the chef, the setting is great, wonderful views across the valley
