Stopped in for a light lunch and beer. Quick order and dog friendly. Ordered the soup off the menu and after 25 minutes waiting asked for a refund to leave. I was told they were just getting it from the freezer to microwave and would let me take it away. Not a very nice experience tbh. No apology, the staff said 'that's how it is' and smirked. Needless to say very poor quality and definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone.

We were struggling to find a bar to have a drink and take the dog in Pwllheli, they do not appear to be so dog friendly there as they are in Porthmadog and Abersoch! We had driven past Whitehall and saw the board outside saying dogs were welcome and parked up. Hubby went inside and I then realised the board was for the pub next door so called him and we went there instead. Orla (the owner) greeted us warmly and advised it’s table service only so we sat in the beer garden and ordered some drinks. We shared with Orla the struggle to find somewhere open on a Monday and then also allowing dogs. Orla came over and told us they weren’t usually open until later in the week but as the weather was nice, thought they’d open up and see if people were about. Orla chatted with us about the area, where to go and where to avoid, she was a real fountain of knowledge and even wrote it all down for us. We’re not sure on the food experience as we didn’t eat, but please ignore the negativity in the previous review as it seems mainly based on character of the owners and to be honest, the owners were so hospitable and warm with us, I don’t get how their experience was so vastly different to ours! Orla is from Cork and has lived in Wales for many many years, go see her if you want some true advice on the area, she’ll definitely help you! Thank Orla!

After being a loyal customer for years at the Empire and then the Osborne, we have been refused a booking for 12 people as we might be noisy and disturb the other diners! We originally tried to book the Osborne for 12 people 5 wks in advance but were told we could not book the table more than two weeks before the date! Then 10 days before the date we wanted, we were told that they would not accept a party greater than 8! If we’d been told that, when we made the original enquiry, we could have made alternative arrangements. I wanted to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday, we are definitely not a rowdy group. We are now struggling to find somewhere suitable and will more than likely have to put off our celebration! So disappointed.

Went in hoping for food and coffees after a long walk. The car park was nothing short of irritating! Went inside and went to order food only to be told that there would be nothing available until after 5pm. Coffees weren’t special. Not even a cake to be had. Left disappointed and will not be returning.

I can’t fault it! I was cod when I arrived and the young woman working behind the bar brought a heater to warm me. Excellent food, I had the pie, followed by crumble and custard. Well prepared wholesome food. Plenty of food, you won’t leave the fairy glen hungry!

Went here Friday lunchtime for a catch up with my brother, I've heard bad things about this pub in the past but as it's now under new management I thought I'd give it a try, it's a nice old pub that's been tastefully renovated recently, plenty of parking and a nice outdoor area (which was quite busy, it was a bit too hot to eat outside so we elected to get a table indoors. The inside was nicely renovated maintaining a few of the old features, the beer was good though not a great selection , food was basic pub grub but was well cooked, arrived quickly and there was plenty of it, one negative was that our table was a bit sticky and could have done with a wipe over, bar staff was pleasant attentive without being intrusive. My main negative thing was the lack of atmosphere it may be different at night but on Friday lunchtime it was definitely a bit flat

A another visit to this very homely pub just outside Llangollen. We turned up n a cold night and the wood fire was blazing away homely was not the word for it. We could have stayed all night. A cracking menu and very reasonable including drinks. The guys in the pub area to a man all said hello. We'll be back.

We were welcomed into Plas Dinas by a lovely young man and shown into the beautiful drawing room. We were served a delicious taster of mushroom and ginger consommé, followed by delicious canapés and pre dinner drinks. After selecting our menu choices we were escorted to the cosy dining room. Each course was presented beautifully, the intensity of flavours just wonderful. We particularly enjoyed the surprises of flavour combinations, e.g sorbet with fennel pollen, just wow! The lamb was cooked to perfection as was the plaice. The whole evening was comfortable, the staff quietly attentive without being intrusive. The environment was elegant and calm. I’m looking forward to returning to Plas Dinas for another excellent experience.

¡Tan decepcionado!
