The best restaurants serving British food in Scotland

The coffee is exceptionally good as you'd expect from a coffee shop. The cheesecake is a revelation, although I've been a veggie for 35 years, I've never knowingly had a vegan cheesecake before, it was superb. The bookshop is fantastic, I could spend hours in that shop.

Stopped off for a breather during a drive from Glasgow to Oban. Great view. But don't go inside! The place is pretty filthy: contact of any kind with the floors was not a good idea. Didn't smell great either. Staff definitely not in line with the usual friendliness of the Scots. Drank my coffee with much trepidation, and left. Stayed away from the food.

Sin reservas pero empiezan una lista de espera. Diversión, paredes pintadas de colores, comida informal Este restaurante era exactamente lo que necesitábamos. Pedimos pescado con papas fritas en la recepción, que era una buena porción. Y cocinado perfectamente. También tuvimos un minuto de sándwich de carne en baguette. Mejor de lo imaginado. El restaurante es grande, llevan la comida a su mesa y planean pararse a tomar una cerveza. En este pueblo ocupado que deja de servir la cena bastante temprano como la mayoría de los restaurantes aquí. Hay escasez de personal. El propietario y el personal todo amable y trabajador para que se siente a disfrutar de una buena comida.

Just wanted a quick meal early evening, really helpful service, very clean and obviously the fish was cooked to order, three of us with our 90 year old father in law who enjoyed every bit, as we all did. Fish n chips is really nice if its cooked right an this was, nice crispy batter and no grease. Thanks

Delicious meal and cocktails when we were in we were the only ones in which was a shame and the waitress was lovely to would definitely return

First time at the cafe, and I was disappointed, baked potato was dry even after adding two lots of butter, salad was bland and there was a slice of orange and chunks of kiwi fruit in it, don’t know why it was in there, luckily I noticed the kiwi fruit, as I have an intolerance to kiwi, I left the majority of the lunch it was awful, my partner had a sanswich which was really dry, didn’t look like there was any butter on it, if there was it was invisible. Definitely won’t be back

En cualquier otro lugar se está haciendo un esfuerzo para mantener a las personas seguras, pero no en esta tienda de chips. Solo efectivo y ningún personal con máscaras.

Just basic snack bar food at extortionate prices. People in with their dogs and allowing the dogs up on the bench seating. We will never be back.

Whent with my family and can only say it the worst chip shop food in Scotland and very over price for the quality of the food really was that bad definitely would not recommend

£8.90 for a cup of coffee, a scone and jam? The scone was more like a bread roll than a traditional scone. I assumed the total must be a mistake, but didn't question it, but looking at other reviews I think this is what they charge. The menu on the table doesn't list the price of scones cakes etc.

Absolutely dreadful. Avoid at all costs. Order placed for delivery and confirmation of an 18.50pm delivery, it's now 20.36 and still no sign despite several calls where promises of "it'll be there any minute". Granted its a Sat eve but lies don't keep my business. First and last order. As for quality... if I believe what I was told about the driver leaving about 8pm, it will be bloody freezing and unedible. Maybe not a bad thing having read the other reviews. Owner refused to refund or cancel as "driver already left"/ said to writr in box next time that they promised a discount. Def won't be ordering again!

I had such a great time , and they have ny favourite Fizz at good price, after it closes you can go upstairs and pay to get in a after , I enjoyed.

Smashing wee place. Preciosa comida y vistas excepcionales sobre la cañada. El personal es muy amable y servicial. Qué más se puede pedir. Muy recomendable.

Just like any other coffee shop selling coffee for extortionate prices. Ours had the added extra of being stronger than a herd of elephants with something to dash home for. I won't sleep for a week now...
