I had a jumbo haddock supper. Quite expensive, but a good size portion. The chips were good, fish was a little greasy, but was fresh cooked and did not have chance to drain. Mushy peas were good, but small. I was charged 10p for a cardboard fork that dissolved half way through the food - a little disappointing. Overall it was quite good

Awfull customer service, called in to place an order and was told they had run out of food and they were closing 😔 really dissapointed with this service, and although it's our local chip shop I will now no longer be returning. An hour and a half before closing time we get told there is no food 🤷🏼♀️ why even bother to answer your phone then? The last few visits our food was over cooked and dry and the chips had far too many small crunchie pieces for our liking. Also when ordering inside the shop the boss looks down his nose at you and shouts at staff....very off putting

9.60 for a fish supper. Wouldn't mind but the chips aren't cooked properly, cold in the middle. Looked like half a fish in the box. What a waste of money. Most of it went in the bin. Disgraceful.

Really enjoyed a gluten free chippy - fish, chicken fillets, battered sausage and curry sauce were all delicious. Separate utensils and fryer for GF - knowledgable on cross contamination. Non GF eater enjoyed it also.

On a dark rainy Friday night I visited Skippers for the first time in a while, I did see an A4 notice full of text on the door but it was lashing rain, dark, I was wearing a mask, my specs were steaming up and I had my hood pulled tight so didn’t stand outside to read it. If I had stood and taken the time to read the notice I wouldn’t be writing this review but that is not really the point here. I entered the shop, used the hand sanitiser and walked up to the order window and placed an order only to be asked if I had phoned. I hadn’t phoned and was told, with no apology, that they were only taking phone orders between 5 and 7pm as they were really busy. I turned to walk out and as I did the owner, in a loud voice, said to his young staff and the one customer in the shop “there goes another one stomping out”. I am not normally a confrontational person but by the time I reached the door I was seeing red after his most unnecessary comment (I consider it a form of harassment). I turned and asked him what he had just said, he replied with something like there is a note on the door, my reply was that I hadn’t been in for a while and had been unaware of the fact and that with an attitude like his I certainly would not be back. I made a suggestion on his Facebook page that he pin a note on it regarding phone orders only 5 to 7 pm my comment/suggestion was deleted without reply or apology. This owner’s attitude to customer relations is non existent and constructive criticism seems lost on him. I will not be back to this establishment but I doubt that the owner really cares.

Been going there for several years now and the only real reason I still occasionally buy from them is that their chips are probably the best in town, proper chipper chips; but the positives end there. Food seems almost selectively soggy, overcooked, or burnt depending on if you've gotten on the owner's bad side. Not to mention how rude and loud the owner can be, shouting and swearing in the store to customers; usually when they have complaints about the state of the food. Overall I recommend against buying from here, you can get far better food for far nicer atmosphere less than a small walk away.

Beautiful day in Aberdeenshire so fancied a chippy in the sun. Great covid safe operation now. order by phone, turn up at alloted time, pay, collect super, go...perfect. Chips have been great for quite a while now, using Sagitta at the moment. Crisp and great colour. Fish cooked to perfection in a lovely batter.

Just outside this chipper, the small lay-by was full of parked cars, so I found a free space just around the corner in the main square. No requirement to pre-book an order by phoning, my wife walked in, mask on. Friendly enough staff. Expensive for what you get. I don't like their chips, so it was a single fish and chicken pie for me, which was fine.

We phoned in an order for a 20 minutes pick up. Bang on with the timings. Friendly staff. Fish was excellent (fresh, crisp and not soggy/greasy), chicken pie could be doing with a bit more burn time, as with the pasty white chips. Always expensive nowadays it seems.

I read reviews and despite several saying that food was burnt, batter had black bits I thought I would try it. Mistake. King rib and chipsteak both burnt and very greasy. It was as if they were being cooked for the tenth time. Plus side, good chips. Back to the dolphin in macduff we go. Sorry.

We cycled past Skippers on the way back to our campsite after a days cycling. We had to wait a bit as there were so many people waiting, we took this as a positive, and boy was it worth waiting for. The fish was fresh, you order and pay in one place and then wait for your freshly cooked order to be delivered to you in another area. Haddock was fantastic chips were well cooked and not soggy or fatty. Banana fritter was amazing. We will definitely go back when we are next on holiday in this area.

Stopped here on the way home for our supper. We had a standard Haddock and chicken Maryland. The standard Haddock had a crispy batter and was very tasty, the sausage - onion rings & pineapple were all good in the chicken Maryland but the chicken was disappointing “batter was soggy and the chicken was dry and didn’t taste good. The chips were good too.

Went to skippers for fish suppers. Staff were friendly and was very clean. Chips were great but had better fish. It was breaded but overdone as no battered fish left. However i prefer breaded fish but not as good as the bay in stonehaven.

Went into this Chippa to buy dinner. Place was reasonable full, so can't be too bad. While deciding what we were going to order, the Chef or owner (whoever he was) started raising his voice and being plain cranky because we were doing this near the door. Decided to get food here anyway, but regretted it afterwards as the quantity and quality was poor and we paid good money for this. Wake up to yourself and respect your customers, lift your standards or you will have no customers.

Staying in Turriff for a couple of days we decided to get a takeaway from Skippers after reading positive reviews on their Facebook page. Very disappointed with what got... chicken fillet supper, chipstick supper and black pudding in batter. The portions were good and the chips had a nice tattie chippy flavour but were too soft and greasy, the batter was wet on the inside and very, very greasy. The only good thing was the black pudding...... but Stornaway Black Pudding is always good!.. the batter on these was not at as bad somehow. Clean looking place. Not very long a wait for food. Friendly staff.... shame the food let it all down.

When it takes less time for your food to arrive than it does to order it something is far wrong! Self service is great when it works. It does not work here 20 minutes standing in a queue to place my own order, the woman at the till was so slow and seemed to be completely unaware of the situation. Food was decent enough and arrived after 10 mins but the service, was terrible with dirty dishes everywhere, no condiments on the table and the place was very cold. Same story in the shop. Huge queue for the post office but no one serving the other till. Typical Inverurie food experience "that'll do" attitude that 99% of people are so used to they are now blind to it.

Avoid like a Covid Out Break, First impressions of the out side was what the Hell have we booked , its tired and outdated exterior greated us, As we walked in to the main entrance we were greeted with a closed reception desk with a closed blind and a smell I have never encountered before, and I've done a few jobs in my life. We made the decision to ask at the pub next door about our booking and to be fair the bar made was nice I can't falt her, she gave us the room key and told us where to go but they weren't serving food this night, thank God the local Indian restaurant got our custom. On inspection of the building it was as tired on the inside as it was on the outside. The floor was moving in places under the carpet. Fire door not closing on the landing and the fire escape door on our floor would need to be kicked open in the event of something happening. The room was clean but am glad am close to my partner as the toilet door in our room slid close and we had to put the TV up loud when It was in use. We never went for breakfast, so we could make a quick escape in the Morning. It's well over priced for what you get.

Had a nice overnight stay with my partner. I upgraded our room to a superior one but it looked out onto a wall which was a bit of a shame. I think the pool and spa facilities could be upgraded, I'd also seen the photo of the outdoor jacuzzi and was really excited to use it but was told you had to pay extra for it which was a bit gutted about. Really liked the bar area and staff were very good. Quite isolated if you don't have a car but hotel staff helped us get taxis. Would return if spa area was improved. But the grounds are beautiful and decor is lovely.
