Burger was trash worst meal I’ve had wouldnt feed to a homeless person burger was half cooked aswell as the onion rings on top full thing fell apart totally inedible

Meal came roughly when quoted, ordered a slush for my daughter , which never arrived so I called the shop and was told I'd just have to wait quite a while if I wanted it delivered!! Very quick to take money but not so quick to satisfy the customer!! Shocking

Management to set up better arrangement for pick up preorders. I stood in que for 5 minutes. This can happen when busy which is good for business but not for preodred customers. Another customer came in tonight and he said wont be back. That is sad as staff and food nice. I will be back. Please have a look at easy way. I would easy pay with card but not every one can pay by card so better suggestion required. Thank you.

I order at zanraes tonight in a happy mood then the prices on the board was cheaper then it was then we had to wait over 30 minutes just to get our food even tho it was on the warming table, then I went home to open my fish and chips and the fish was burnt. I am appalled at this and will be expecting better next time, even if there is a next time.

The food was fantastic. We were staying in Peterhead for one night and decided to both get a fish supper for the night. The lady serving us struggled a little with our accent and we struggled a little with hers so it took us a little bit time to get what we wanted ordered but the conversation was polite and not at all frustrating. The fish itself was fantastic and one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Fully recommend this little chip shop.

Good food and it was on time for picking up

The chipsteak was aright but the chips were poor, its a hit or a miss and this time it wasn't great.

I have just recently been to Peterhead for a week's visit as I have friends and family there, I decided to have a zanres one of the nights as I remember them always being very good and tasty...on this occasion it was not..I ordered the small haddock supper with mushy peas, it was not how I remembered it..the fish was tiny, thin and lacking in taste, the chips obviously were lying at the bottom of the chip tray, think, dried up and hard..the only decent thing I had was the mushy peas...never again zanres..you've let yourself slip, and to top it off, our order wasn't ready when you said it would be ..🤔😶

£8.90 for a standard supper. Average at best, a lot of fat still dripping off it. Certainly wasn't awful, but nearly nine quid for a meal that Bob Geldof would feel bad taking to Ethiopia is hugely disappointing.

Great chippy, the fish was so nice and the batter lovely and crispy. Only downside was the gravy which wasn't that great but it didn't spoil the meal coz the fish more than made up for it.

Used to be good but after several trys over 6 months only 1 was edible. Price is high for the quality you get, Staff are never happy to serve you and the food is always late. When i raised the issues i was basicaly told i was a liar and the issue cant be resolved because no manager in. Never again. Went to other takeaway and it was readyin 15 miniutes with no issues.

Ordered a delivery only 4 suppers were ordered. Forgot 1 fish and 2 tubs of special sauce. Other items in the order were cold and took over an hour arrive.

Food was really good and fresh although I had a long wait even though I phoned in the order and was told what time it would be ready and was 20mins waiting past the time.

Awful, sausage tasted and felt like it had been dipped in water and let to dry, chips were stale. couldn’t eat most of it worst fish shop food I’ve ever had.

Decent Chip Shop, used the online ordering service a few times over the last few months, delivery fee is very steep compared to other take out places. Went in for a walk in on a Sunday night, good Covid protection in place, and didn’t have to wait to long for the order to be completed. Fish was ok but limited chips, and some were were burnt and hard. The new buzzer system allows you to go back to your car and get informed when your orders ready.

Over rated fish and chip shop. Ordered large fish and chips x2 and scampi. Both fish came over cooked with dark brown over crispy batter. Neither fish could really be considered as large. Each portion came with about 20 pieces of chips, hardly a large...two stars because the scampi and friendly staff, otherwise i would have given this venue zero stars for food.

Very miserable staff ! Asked for a medium fish when I picked it up it was full of water which just poured out my fish ? Never seen anything like it in my 38 years Not nice at all and couldn’t even taste any salt or vinegar!

Special haddock supper, could only eat the fish after so called bread crumb dressing taken off. Chips below standard. Can catch the fish but canny cook it! Service poor.

2 large fish suppers nearly 20 quid and is really a small fish. Asked for salt and vineger and it looks like it's only been threatened with salt from at least a distance of about 5 metres.

I ordered the large Haddock supper. Chips ok and the fish was nice but tiny! I wonder what the small is like!Covid secure? I did not think so. They allowed plenty of customer inside at the same time and over 50% had no masks! Maybe Peterhead has many people exempt as nowhere seemed to enforce anything.Not worth a visit.

Orders twice since moving to Peterhead can’t complain good portions sizes for children’s meals and food always hot on delivery also taste so fine will definitely make this my preference when fancy a chippy

Very friendly staff in the Peterhead shop just now! It took two girls to make my Knickerbocker ice cream, but I think one was a little distracted by my accent. 😁

Always love going to Zanres... Will be last time for a while... chips were absolutely disgusting, even heard the staff saying they to each other that they have already been refried twice, absolute honking so they were.

Ordered and paid in advance for a standard haddock £7.80, never got see it being prepared or boxed because of Covid-19®. So eventually opened the box away from the shop to see a tiny fillet never went back to complain but I wonder what size the small haddock on their menu would be? The one I got must have came off the back of just legal landing size fish 300mm so how can it legally get any smaller? Extremely poor value for money at a time when people need to be eating more local fish. I feel cheated by Zanres. Maybe it was small they gave me by mistake or double standards depending who the customer is?? If the fish was a decent size would have been 4 stars. I remember the Dolphin Cafe standard haddock... well it wouldn't fit in that box. Wouldn't it be honest if their menu stated the minimum weight for each of their 3 haddock sizes and they weighed it before battering so you could see you their honesty.

Had to take back food as badly overcooked and foreign piece of chicken in with Scampi. Milkshake awful as filled with ice crystal. Pie inedible and black inside. Very expensive. Won't be returning

Best fish and chips for miles, fresh and no bones. Did a round trip of 273 miles just for that reason.

Again not good enough as subway and other takeaways where gloves and masks and washed hands in-between customers. So Why can't you instead of waiting for government rules. Not good enough no gloves when handling your food and no face masks when in the middle of a pandemic, gloves especially when handling food should be worn and because in middle pandemic should be whereing face mask as well.

Horrible service would never come back again. Went there in February, ordered a couple wraps, the lady on the till was working with money, dropped a couple notes on the floor, lifted them up and without washing her hands went on to touch unpacked food. They even mixed up the order and gave us the wrong wrap, they fixed it though. But still hand MUST be washed before touching food. I don't believe they should open during the lock down, so disappointed and don't believe any health and safety procedures would be adhered to

I got a triple decker burger supper and the burger was just bland no flavour just basically tasted the grease and on top of that they don't know how to build the damn thing it was sliding off, lettuce was soggy, only giving 2 stars as chips were okay not the best wouldn't recommend

Best fish I have ever tasted as it is so fresh. Small fish supper a good size for me. When on holiday in Nairn went over to Peterhead especially for fish supper & Prison Museum. Will def return.

Bought two jumbo cod. £12. Fish was fresh but tasted bitter and rancid because it was cooked in old saturated oil. Wouldn't go back.

Went to,local chippy and queue out of the door and small staff so headed down town to Zanres. Just as busy but well staffed and my order taken as I walked in, Did not have long to wait and soon on my way home. Excellent supper.

thanks zanres thats twice ive been ill after being in your peterhead takeaway it wasnt the chips that btw were undercooked it was the unreal heat in your shop that cause i had my jacket on made soaked from head to toe in sweat even though i stood at the door then when i walked up the road i froze cause my clothes were soaked with sweat. So thanks for ruining my day and giving me a cold

Went to this place last nite thought i would treat myself to ZANRES SPECIALS JUMBO BATTERED SCAMPI. It was disgusting i asked for NO CHIPS JUST SALAD. But got chips & the scampi was so overcooked scampi was burned inside.NOT A CHEAP MEAL. The fryer was well under pressure evertime someone ordered THE VOICE THAT WILL BE 15 MINS THAT WILL BE 20 MINS. After waiting more than half hr. It wasnt worth waiting for.

We were advised that Zanres was the best place to get something to eat in Peterhead. It was a rainy night, so we decided just to get a takeaway and eat it in the car. The place was heaving, which is an indication that it is a firm favourite with the locals. It was good quality, not too expensive and service was efficient and friendly.

Visited Zanres for a supper during our recent break in Peterhead. Went in at 10pm for a white pudding supper but they had none left so had a black pudding instead, it was good and the chips were decent also

Clean, organised,fast with really tasty food. Go for a munch box and you could feed 3 people. If you're a visitor to Peterhead this is a must visit.

Saves cooking when you have had a hard day

Was once the star chipper of the town. We used to phone every Friday for our supper and then one of us would drive round in the car and pick up the meal at the specified time. It was always ready and hot. Not any more. We have stopped ordering after several times phoning, being given a pickup time and driving there to find they had not even started cooking it. The whole point of phoning was because neither of us are able to stand for a length of time waiting and if we use a wheelchair we are left outside in the weather until it is ready. Add to that the issue that recently the meals have sometimes been of the same quality as before but at other times it is greasy and not as hot as expected. Its always a shame to see a bit of an icon slowly deteriorate.

First time ive been for a few months. Had chicken fillets and a white pudding..sad to say it was all really soggy. Was really disappointed.

Loved everything of it!!! I mean, what better battered haggis can you find? Located in picturesque Peterhead, Zanres is simply the best. We had fish and chips as well and that was legendary. They also did some cool gift vouchers to purchase for friends. Top guys in there, too.

They need to post pictures of there menu on the web pages so you know what they have
