I'm honestly shocked at these horrible reviews and truly feel that something is rotten in Denmark. Came here to leave a 5 star review to say that our special fish suppers were the best fish and chips that mum and I have had in decades! The haddock wash fresh and flaky, I've never seen such a clean fish and chip shop, and despite being super busy, the staff were all working like a well-oiled machine. I cannot imagine how devastating it must be to the owners to be reading all these reviews which are clearly off. Adding pics of our fish supper which was nothing short of divine! Don't be dissuaded from trying Dellos fish and chips, you won't be disappointed.

I cannot express in words my gratitude for the amazing people of Cumbrae island. When me and my friends got stranded in the island the owner, Craig, offered us free accommodation and hosted an unforgettable night for me and my friends, paired with a cozy breakfast and a delicious lunch. I cannot recommend this experience enough. I will be coming back during the summer and will be exited to rejoin the fun with the lovely people of Cumbrae island!

Roads End Cafe is a lifesaver at this time of the year, we were on the NC500 and fancied a bite to eat when we got to John o Groats. It is such a basic cafe but still serves hot toasties/sandwiches, soup and small cakes/scones. The lady that served us was lovely, so welcoming and willing to go the extra mile, she even recommended the haggis and cheese toastie which I couldn't turn down. Since it was so quiet, it was takeaway only but she let us sit in due to the gale force winds outside. I have to say the toasties are the best I have had in a while and not even that expensive despite the location, absolutely fantastic. It is a little gem if you're looking for something eat when you reach the most northernly point in Scotland!

Stopped off for a breather during a drive from Glasgow to Oban. Great view. But don't go inside! The place is pretty filthy: contact of any kind with the floors was not a good idea. Didn't smell great either. Staff definitely not in line with the usual friendliness of the Scots. Drank my coffee with much trepidation, and left. Stayed away from the food.

Just wanted a quick meal early evening, really helpful service, very clean and obviously the fish was cooked to order, three of us with our 90 year old father in law who enjoyed every bit, as we all did. Fish n chips is really nice if its cooked right an this was, nice crispy batter and no grease. Thanks

Nice place, you queue to order and give a table Number so we decided to take away. Was very surprised to hear that the £16.95 of a price tag didn’t alter for takeaway! That’s a pricey fish supper and was it worth it. Was Ok but average and price results in a an average review. Gluten Free option was good 👍🏻

First time at the cafe, and I was disappointed, baked potato was dry even after adding two lots of butter, salad was bland and there was a slice of orange and chunks of kiwi fruit in it, don’t know why it was in there, luckily I noticed the kiwi fruit, as I have an intolerance to kiwi, I left the majority of the lunch it was awful, my partner had a sanswich which was really dry, didn’t look like there was any butter on it, if there was it was invisible. Definitely won’t be back

Local to the area and have been going for years however service and quality both deteriorated more recently. Arrived at 945 this morning and waited 45 minutes for 1 breakfast to arrive at table despite asking after 30 minutes if everything was ok. Poached eggs and avacado on toast - minimal ‘avacado spread’ which didn’t appear fresh and very over cooked poached eggs. Really want to support the team and local business but won’t be going back! Rest of table had scones / coffees which were nice but not good enough to justify the wait and overall service.

Arrived at 13.15 for a late lunch with a friend. The sandwich selection was very limited with lots of empty sections which had not been topped up. The queue for hot drinks was taking ages so I opted for the drinks machine. Of the four machines, one was not working at all and two had run out of milk. There was only one tillpoint open causing a long queue, and finally I had to be very selective with my cutlery because a lot of it was not properly clean. Such a pity because the views over Edinburgh are spectacular. I think next time I will try the café in the Catholic cathedral next door

We ordered chilli with rice, it came out massively overcooked. She said it comes in a packet so this was how it should be. It was very clear they had put it in the microwave for so long that the sauce was dried up and the beans were so hard they were inedible. The person in the kitchen refused to change it so left hungry.
