The best restaurants serving British food in Scotland

We loved our fish & chip meal here. The staff were fantastic...sadly this pub CLOSES indefinitely from Saturday 28th September.

Proper basic old fashioned service and first class fish and chips. Opted to eat here rather than eat late and pay over the top for questionable food at the Thainstone Hotel. Excellent decision, loved it

Had a fantastic time at the Aragon, the team looked after us spectacularly, even accommodating our request to play the All Blacks rugby game.

What you see is what you get here. A bar with loud dance music, all day and night. Great In small doses.

Clean, large room, friendly staff. Only thing to be aware of is the stairs, if you are fit and able to climb 3 flights to your room, then I definitely recommend.

Id say more dog "accomodating" rather than dog friendly.. ... Food was pretty decent, albeit I got a phone call an hour before saying I couldn't have the Sunday roast as they didn't serve this in the "dog friendly" areas..... All very weird. Maureen sounded brilliant though, but the person I spoke to sounded very "head office". Hampton next door is much more welcoming. As said though, lunch was decent. 😁

The staff at the hotel are incredibly kind and helpful. All of our encounters were pleasant. We did have several problems with the hotel. The list of problems: * The only lift for the hotel was broken during our entire stay of 3 nights. We were on the 3rd floor and had several pieces of luggage with our group. * We were told that we could park from late night to 8:30am on the street without a problem. We got a 30 pound parking ticket at 8:17am. The actual time when meters started was 8:00am. * The WiFi in the room was horribly slow. I could not work. * The room smelled of cigarette smoke and mildew. * The bedrooms are dated. They had a bit of dust around the furniture and curtains and the mattress sunk in the middle. * The toilet was difficult to flush. * The sink only had cold water or, after asking for a repair, only hot water. We had to get drinking water from the bathtub. * They gave little toilet paper and tissues that we had to get more from the front desk the first day. Housekeeping did not service the room on the first day, for some reason.

My local bar when I'm in Inverness and although it's not the most glamorous of places, it's got plenty of screens for the sport, a beer garden with play area for kids, a pool table (which is free on Mondays and Tuesdays!) and good craic with the regulars.

We stayed for a few nights after our wedding as it was close to the venue and it was amazing from start to finish. The staff couldn’t be more helpful, the food is absolutely delicious and the decor/vibe is wonderful. The towels were also really lovely and fluffy. We absolutely loved our time here and will definitely be back.

Great location overlooking St Andrews Old Course and the bay. Loved the ambience, food and wine selections. Service was warm and professional. Tom took great care to make us feel welcome. Highly recommended!!

An old haunt of mine haven't been for ages went for lunch with my old mate Kevin had the burger and chips lovely no frills but good value and great service 👍
