Tonino's Takeaway in West Lothian

Ordered 2 Fish Suppers. Service was quick. Fish was freshly cooked but the batter wasn't crisp. Chips were soggy. 'I'm no expert' but I think an oil change may be needed. At £8.50 each, it was edible & reasonable value.

Donner kebab was dry and grey looking, pitta bread over cooked. The haggis was dry because it was sitting under the heat lamp too long, soggy chips. Won't be back had enough of this establishment

Can not fault the food from this takeaway, portions were large and everything was hot enough. Delivery took a bit longer than we expected but was delivered right to our pitch on the caravan site we are staying on. Thank you

Got fish supper and steak pie supper. Pie was pastry full of gristle and the batter on the fish was inedible. Disgusting .... almost £12 and all we ate were a few chips. The fish was ok without the batter but the 'meat' in the pie has to be the cheapest ever. They have only just started to accept card payment all be it over £10 only. Tax man must have caught up at last?

Absolutely love this place.. Always so pleasant regardless of how busy they get.. Baked potatoes are amazing and very generous with the fillings.. Husband loves the fish and my son says the nuggets are the best ever 🙂.. Very friendly, Reasonably priced and So delicious.. What more can you ask for 🙂

As above the food is always good but the delivery charge is a complete rip off, four pound for less than a mile.

Usually order on Just Eat especially during the last year and a half as wanted to make sure it stayed open. Went in in person for the first time the other night and service was excellent despite being a busy Friday night and having some other rude customers to contend with. Slight issue was that it was cash only and local machine charges £1.50 for withdrawals. Food was brilliant as usual, generous portions and great value. Always give 5 stars on Just Eat so thought I’d do the same on here.

Have ordered from Tonino’s a couple of times in the last month and have been left really disappointed on both occasions. The service is really good and efficient but the food quality is pretty low. The chips are really really greasy, the black pudding has pretty much no batter on it and the curry sauce is like water. Unfortunately will not be using again.

Although we don't get a lot of chippies when we do we always love Toninos. During lockdown we ordered a couple of takeaways for a change just to cheer us up. The service was quick food piping hot 🔥 and lovely delivery guy always with a smile 😃 . We'll definitely 👍 be back again.

Decided to treat ourselves to a chippy tonight. Great service had my order delivered within 10minutes of phoning the order in. Nice smiling delivery man,food was piping hot lovely fish. Have had food from here a few times and never been disappointed.

I ordered 3 times from this place and the delivery always takes ages even though the shop is only 3 min drive away

First off, the pizza was bad. Really bad. However, we didn’t exactly expect it would be good. We needed a fast, cheap takeaway place near our hotel and here was Tonino’s. It is one of those places that sells fish and chips, gyros, sausage rolls, chips, kebabs, and pizza. Multipurpose, one stop kind of place. It smelled great. I’m guessing some of the food was good, judging from the takeaway and delivery trade going on on a random Tuesday night. The counter girl was very nice and helpful. The rest of the staff worked diligently and efficiently. I suspect they might have all been family. It had a great neighborhood charm. So, despite the bad pizza, we weren’t unhappy. It was cheap (5.95 for a 12” margarita pizza) and filling.

We decided to stop in the village and pick up a takeaway before heading back to our cottage in Wilkieston. Friendly, efficient service, fish cooked to order, plenty of chips and good sausages, the one disappointment was the curry sauce being too liquid like but maybe that's how people in Scotland like their curry sauce? Anyway, tasty treat and good value for money.

Used the online app just eat to get a delivery from here. Food arrived Hot and freshly cooked. Would recommend highly.

Hadn't been for some time. Still as good as ever. Service was excellent and no plastic bags. Would recommend it.

Order put in for delivery, was told would be 45 mins maximum. Had to call to chase an hour and 20 mins later only to be met with extreme rudeness by the member of staff who answered the phone calling me a liar that he would never have given a timeframe. A further 25 mins later, still no delivery the same member of staff answered my phone and aggressively told me he was cancelling my order and I wasn’t getting a refund!! Astonishingly bad customer service received for my first and last experience of ordering with this chip shop - my advice, avoid at all costs!!

There's a good few decent chippy's in the area, so competition is tight for a send-in, but a couple have gone down hill lately.The Howden one used to be our 'go to' chippy but they're skimping big time on chip portions with their supper meals. So much so that I was left hungry after our last send-in from there (black pudding supper that came with about 14 chips!). Son came looking for any leftovers too - not even a chip to be found! Good fresh food, tiny portions. And before your mind wanders, grown up family of 4 all with healthy BMI :-/Pumphy? Let's just not go there... ever... ever again...Tonino's, great food, good portion sizes, delivered exactly when 'Just Eat' says so. Always order a variety of food, fish supper, deluxe burger, kebab, pizza etc. and nothing disappoints. Always fresh and piping hot too (yeah, looking at you Zaika!).Folks normally take the time to complain and type up reviews when disappointed with a meal (my bad!). I thought I'd turn over a new leaf and I'd take the time to type up a review when my whole family was delighted with one!Well done Toninos... again... we'll be back :-)

Friendly and all you want from your local chippie. Great chips with the usual chicken fish etc but also quality mixed kebabs and pizzas and we love tonino's sauce which we always have in our fridge at home. My secret pleasure a toninos.

Always excellent, my wife and I love the munchie box and boy loves the kebab. Delivery is always on time.

Fresh cooked to order when busy with a kebab side for other foods next to counter, also sells ice cream

Consistently excellent food and service, telephone orders welcome and always on time, tried probably everything on the menu and never been disappointed, know of people that go out there way to get their suppers from here. Keep up the good work guys.

La gente por millas (en serio) para conseguir una chippie aquí, pero más que patatas fritas justo, excelente variedad de kebabs y pizzas, todo a un precio razonable y siempre fresca, con ensalada fresca. Este pequeño tesoro de un chips ha sido en nuestro pueblo durante muchos años, y hemos sido muy afortunados de tener a la mano, y siempre lo hace por la buena comida después de una noche en el pueblo.

popped in to get a quick meal for me and my wife but staff too busy filling phone in orders to be bothered with call in customers wait 15 mins and then told food not cooked yet so asked for my money back and was given cheek from staff did rate place but not any more

It's a chippy but as chippys go it's much more. If it's takeaway that you want this has got a lot going for it. As well as the usual chip shop favourites it has pasta dishes pizzas kebabs and more .

Great chippy as usual. This time we had home delivery. Food was delivered on time and was piping hot

They make the best fritters in the whole of Scotland (having travelled far and wide for fritters, I know this to be true) and they always have great service. I frequently visit just to buy fritters and to buy their chippy sauce.

I've been ordering from here for years and the food is always freshly cooked and delivered quickly. I love the white pudding and that they do bbq sauce as a base for pizzas.

I'd been fishing in the River Almond and needed some fuel. I'd been recommended Tonino's in Market Street, Mid Calder. A massive plus is that it is easy to find. I've passed it several times and it always seems to be busy. I ordered a fish supper and received a big fish sitting on a large bed of chips in an easy-to-carry box. They offered a fork and also asked if I wanted sauce of vinegar. Good service. The fish was well-cooked but on the dry side and so were the chips but it filled a hole. Would I go back? Yes, but I'd hit the sauce next time rather than the vinegar to give some moisture to the chips.

Ordered a LARGE mixed kebab and got a small donor kebab at best and had the cheek to charge £7.70. My wife ordered a calzone lamb was burnt and the rest was soggy grease was dripping out the box will see how my kids are in the morning after there's but WOULDN'T recommend to anyone not even my worst enemy.

After moving to the area we decided to try the chippy. We ordered a 12" pizza but very disappointed with the size and certainly not enough to feed 2. Wasn't sure it was 12" more like 10". Base was very dry and not much tomato sauce. Woukd not recommend.

I have been a customer for years now and the service has been excellent. Haven't tried much of the menu as have regular order but with very few exceptions, the food has been very good. Clean shop, smiles all around.

Thrown in the bin. Got a fish supper and a chicken kebab. Dry, tasteless chicken and a tiny bit of salad. Undercooked chips and the batter on the fish was like rubber. The fish itself was dry and overcooked. Used to go here years ago when I worked in the area and was shocked by how downhill it had gone.

This is good chippie with a large menu. Everything is freshly cooked. Only problem food is served in boxes which tends to make chips soggy.

Found food to be fresh and tasted lovely,staff were welcoming and seem to have a good knowledge of what they were to do. Will gladly recommend to others and look forward to my next visit.
