Beautiful day so decided to take the dogs for a lovely walk in the woods. Then we had coffee and cake as it was later in the day. Everything is delicious and home made. Great selection of food and different to the norm which is refreshing. Will definitely be back for a lunch to try some of the delights on the menu and we also liked the look of the crepes on offer in the takeaway shed. Lots of goodies to purchase in the shop and the cheese counter looks great and the cheeses are delicious.

Excellent food. Beef and ale pie melts in your mouth and the fish was perfect! Then comes dessert. Sticky toffee pudding drizzled with toffee sauce and ice cream from Arran. It is definitely the best I have ever had The restaurant is tucked away in a lovely garden area with lovely views in the summer. Staff are friendly and courteous with an amazing atmosphere. Coming here is a must!

Could be a very nice place to be if it only provided a quality, attentive and a warm customer experience. Gentleman (owner) seemed very pleasant but female waiting staff had faces tripping them, doing no more than absolutely necessary. Extremely disappointing that an established Ayrshire hospitality business does not get the basics of good customer service, letting down the chef and kitchen staff giving poor service without a smile, apparently unable to make people feel welcome. I wouldn't recommend unfortunately...please train your waiting staff to endeavour to make everyone's visit a pleasant experience. This should be easy...otherwise people there have become extremely complacent & are in the wrong job. Your job would be so much more enjoyable if you took some pride in providing a warm, happy table service and pride in your work.

The Horizon Hotel’s Vista Bar and Restaurant review comes down to one word: extortionate. Paying nearly £6 a pint - for Tennent’s - in Ayr, Scotland? Two courses on a Sunday afternoon was £20.95, and kids meals were £8.50 for two courses. The menu choices are limited, with just a half dozen options to choose from - my husband ordered Steak and Ale Pie at £16.95 and they charged an extra £1 to swap the mashed potatoes for chips as he requested. So you’re basically paying £24 for a pie and a pint on a Sunday. There are no “name brand” sauces on the table, just generic ketchup packets that you have to tear open and of course, the mess goes everywhere. Yum. The general atmosphere was good, with some music in the background. Staff were attentive and friendly. The WiFi doesn’t work throughout the whole restaurant or in the annex where we were seated. All in all, we wouldn’t go back for another meal. It was too expensive and the taste of the food wasn’t anything to write home about.

This used to be a lovely pub but since the people that owned it left it has gone down hill a little bit. Whoever, owns it now needs to spend some money and give it a bit of a spruce up, the seats have been torn and look shabby plus paintwork is dirty and has marks on it. Toilets are clean but could be better. Staff were lovely but there is only so much they can do to keep it looking clean. Would like to seeing back to how it used be when you walk in, clean, bright and welcoming.

Excellent fish suppers, very tasty and freshly made, well priced too. The chicken suppers and pizza were also good, staff were pleasant and helpful.

What a great little find. While parked on the industrial estate for 24h. I needed to get some air and stretch. Came across this gem. Hosts were amazing, friendly. Food was absolutely delicious. Had the large breakfast and now have a belly full to to the brim. Definitely a place to pop in a grab a bite.

The menu was very nice and a great selection of starters and mains. The staff were very friendly and very helpful in answering our questions. The meals were served promptly and they were hot. The dessert was also very tasty and I recommend the terramisu! Heather, our waitress was very friendly and had a great sense of humour too. She is also a co-owner with her husband Vito who is the pizza chef
