I stayed overnight and had dinner bed and breakfast. I chose it because it was in a pretty country village and was quiet. The people running the place were very friendly and the room was well appointed. Food was OK with excellent breakfast. Good car park. Reasonable price. Iād go there again.

Friendly staff but unfortunately this place is very run down, old broken toys and feels quite dirty. Does not look like much has been replaced in a long time. I also felt it was quite dangerous for the kids with lots of tripping hazards due to it being very cluttered and overcrowded. We also had very sore eyes with the cooking fumes and left smelling strongly of grease.

Rotten service spoilt the tasty macaroni cheese. Ordered Mac Cheese which came with garlic bread. Garlic burns my throat so I asked at the till for it to be replaced with ordinary bread - no problem said the cashier. Meal arrived with the garlic bread on the plate. Asked for it to be changed only to be told it couldn't be done as they don't do substitutes. Thankfully it wasn't allergy issue!

Firstly, I did try to make these comments privately to the venue, but have had no reply to my request for a contact (sent nine days ago). This is what I planned to send. "We were guests for a lovely evening out with friends last night, which is why the evening should have been memorable. You were busy, we were happy to wait for our table. Orders were taken for drinks, but one drink was forgotten and instead of two Slimline tonics and one regular, we were brought two regular tonics and one Slimline. We made do with one of each. In a top class establishment, Iād expect wait staff to operate a āsilent serviceā method where they adopt an easy method of marking their orders pad to enable drinks to be delivered without interrupting conversation. Obviously you donāt train staff to do this, or it appears, to train staff at all. When the waitress came with the missing soft drink, she put it on the table when the personās hand was outstretched to take it. She did this without making eye contact with the customer. If itās your policy to do this, she should have said. We were taken into the dining room and seated. Only some time later, when asked āAre youse ready to order?" did the waitress realise we had not been given menus. Incidentally, Iāve yet to come to The Canny Crow and not be addressed as āyouseā. One guest asked for bread to be served with starters (he wasnāt asked if he wanted brown or white bread, maybe you donāt have both?) It didnāt come without a reminder. When it did it was supermarket white bread. More bread would have been handy with the pĆ¢tĆ© which came with approximately a quarter of a slice of toast.āIt was nice, but when you eat pĆ¢tĆ© on its own like that itās like eating lard.ā Why did you skimp on the cheapest thing on the plate? Four out of six mains were served. We couldnāt start eating as we had no cutlery. After some time we had to ask for the other two mains. One of our guests went to the bar and asked for āknives and forksā the waitress brought knives only. We had to ask for vinegar, we werenāt offered it. We helped ourselves to mayonnaise. Service was so slow that by the time we ordered Irish coffee it was after ālast ordersā. It had been announced (at 10 pm), but this meant that you lost revenue. To top it all, someone started to vacuum when we were still in the room. I had no idea you closed so early, but a polite word to the person who booked would have prevented the ignominy of being virtually thrown out. Throughout the evening, it appeared that unlike previous managers, the person in charge stayed at the corner of the bar, and appeared to be a barman, rather than the person making sure the place was running smoothly. Staff were pleasant, perhaps not exactly friendly, but the blame would appear to lie with management who have failed to train them in the basics. If you want to incentivise them, remind them that you have plenty of American guests and they will benefit from high tippers if service improves. Iām telling you all this because I want The Canny Crow to succeed. I love the venue - itās a bit out of the way and an expensive taxi ride home, but it would be worth it to bring guests to a world class venue with a stunning view. It is NOT worth risking bringing guests who I want to showcase the best of Ayrshire to when the service is so appalling. Frankly, you should be ashamed of embarrassing your guests. "

Worst service ever , we had the cutlery thrown down at us food was terrible had more chips from McDonald's for Ā£2 than what we got here , bacon looked and tasted uncooked , eggs were pure slimy and chips were hard beans were cold and mushrooms were soaked with oil served in bowls probably to stop the fat falling off plates , had to ask for more sugar which was a problem for waitress as she muttered insults under her breath . Never be back . Was dead when we went in , now I can see why . It used to be stowed all the time . Really has went downhill

What a find, was first cafe I came to. I looked in and was busy at 2pm on Tuesday, and a bonus is serves Equie's ice cream. I enter the cafe and was asked straight away what I would like, they showed me to a table. The Staff were very friendly and eager to help as I'm in a wheelchair, the staff and cafe was extremely clean, with staff cleaning as they go. The food was great and didnt have to wait long for food to arrive and food was hot, I could not find any fault what so ever a real gem of a find on my visit to Hamilton. Just a shame they only allow you to give 5 stars š

Our very favourite place to pop in for a treat and a coffee. Staff are wonderful and the cakes are to die for! Our week would not be the same if we didnāt visit!

Very disappointing. Busiest weekend in the Largs calendar and this poor pub/bar/restaurant was ill equipped to cope with the footfall. Been a couple of years since I have been in this facility, but very sad to see the demise of a lovely wee local. The place was filthy dirty, food would take over 1 hour and bar staff unable to manage queues at the bar. Hope the next time I visit this review will help them constructively to put the appropriate measure in place to restore the reputation of not just my opinion but the opinion of fellow customers.

We last visited The Music Room 5 years ago for a light lunch and decided to revisit the other day because we enjoyed ourselves the last time. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Alison or SuperAlly as we quickly realised. She was managing to run the bar very efficiently and make lunches in between. š My wife had chips and a chicken and cheese toastie. I had home made lentil soup and a roll. Couldnāt believe it was only Ā£2 for mine, it was lovely. We will certainly go back to The Music Room the next time weāre in Larkhall š

I have been coming here for for over a year, and never been disappointed. From her soup, meals, scones and cake, oh not forgotten her tea and coffee I've never been disappointed. First class šÆ

Found this place through trip advisor after having had terrible service at the Puffer which was our regular go to in Irvine. Peppermill will now be our regular place for food in Irvine. Staff were lovely, food was delicious and great value. A good range of dishes from traditional steak pie, baked potatoes to pizza & pasta.
