26/11/2023: Sunday lunch the 26th of November and fully booked months ago. Easy to see why....Fantastic food great ambience and service. Very relaxing better than any Glasgow or London experience. Starters of local crab and stuffed mushrooms followed by the most delightful local lamb and beautifully cooked Haddock.Topped of by a lovely home made carmel and apple pie....a byo and no corkage charge . A big thankyou to bRino? In the kitchen and wonderful service from Valirie and Jessica..Alan and Christina Dunn Largs....a must visit for good food lovers.

Stags Pavilion
Irvine West, North Ayrshire
01/08/2017: This little tucked-away restaurant is not to be missed if one visits Arran. Reservations are a must and should be made several days in advance, especially during the busy summer months. I ate here with my mother, my sister who has celiac disease and my 13-year-old niece. All of us ate well, even my niece who is a finicky eater. Kids menu was expansive and suited many palates and kids and regular menu had large portions at reasonable prices. The staff were well able to accommodate my sister's special dietary needs and she ate well here, more than in other fancier restaurants we visited on our tour of Europe. I ate Arran lamb, which was tasty, and my mother ordered several platters for the table, all of which were delicious. We were very stuffed when we left, too stuffed for dessert, which I regret missing out on. I really enjoyed my meal at this restaurant, and although the interior is small, it didn't feel crowded or stuffy. . It was just wonderful to eat my delicious dinner while gazing out at the Scottish hills covered in mist and fog. Loved it, would go back for sure.
01/10/2016: Stayed at Butts Lodge 150 yards away and this and only local pub are the only places that serve evening meals. This does not have a drinks licence but you can take your own and they supply the glasses without any charge. Great selection of food, decent prices and superb service.

Trafalgar Restaurant
Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire
15/12/2016: So sad to find out that Wolfie and his wife have retired. There food and service were fabulous. I wish them all the best, but, I will miss them and their fabulous restaurant.

Kilmichael Country House Hotel Restaurant
Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire, 45-60£
22/08/2017: Just in case someone drives up to the front door .. this place is closed as the proprietors have retired .. what a shame as it was easily as good as Glasgow / Edinburgh's finest..
17/09/2016: Restaurantes en estilo elegante. Los alrededores son lujosos, con comida deliciosa y vinos.

Doon the Beach
Saltcoats and Stevenston, North Ayrshire
01/03/2024: Surprised and delighted to find a cafe here, just what all the walkers and cyclists want. A good car park and outside seating if you want. A friendly greeting and a good easy to follow menu with fair prices. You are served at your table and they have plenty of home baking and treats for the dogs. Useful local information board and a popular place with plenty of banter.
26/01/2024: Friendly as ever and the food is just the best
The staff and volunteers are welcoming and genuinely dog friendly, just love going there

Fran's Coffee House
Irvine West, North Ayrshire
24/02/2024: This is a wee gem of a place. Great food and coffee and a varied menu to choose from plus a daily special. The food and drinks are made with good quality ingredients and everything is very reasonably price and represents great value for money. After the famous Glasgow Rangers 😉 all the staff in here are clearly the A Team ! 🙌 .... Lyndsay, Dawn, Gaby and Souper Davie (the Cook - his soups are delicious 😋). If you are in or around Irvine get yourself along here to sit-in or takeaway some food and drinks - you won't regret it.
08/10/2023: I work in the town centre and come here for my lunches a lot and never didappointed. My favourite is their sweet potato and chorizo soup absolutely delicious! Always friendly outgoing staff!

The Chuck Wagon
Irvine West, North Ayrshire
17/01/2021: I gave my order to a friendly member of staff and was very impressed when she put on a disposable glove before taking my cash, as money is one of the dirtiest things around and handled by many. Great selection to choose from, friendly, chatty staff and very reasonable prices. I have eaten from there quite a few times and have had variety from the menu and never been disappointed. Menu is on the wagon in big print so no need for single use menus.
30/07/2019: One of the things I miss about home is The Chuck Wagon after a good night out. Great food and great staff.

Ardrossan and Arran, North Ayrshire
01/05/2016: Warm greeting upon arrival, very attentive staff! Fantastic food!! very highly recommended!! First time my wife and I have eaten in this resteraunt and we will definitely be back for more!!

04/07/2019: I love the Brownings cakes, loads of options and always good at the weekend, as a treat, easy to get to plus all the favourites usually available.
25/06/2019: browning's is the superior baker to Greg's it has better rolls better cakes. they can also make better cups of tea and coffee so in conclusion Greg's can get it right up them.
