Best vegetarian/vegan hot dog ever! (Vegan dog with mushrooms and cheese) Chips were great and service with a smile. Wish I'd got a cake as well so will have to go back soon! My pal had a chicken and bacon burger and was also well chuffed and stuffed. The seating is outside picnic tables, which was fine for us but others might find it chilly in a normal November, so you'd maybe want to sit in your vehicle.

Delightful small hotel, very personal in agreat spot on the coast, but the food was exceptional. We had the venison and the lamb rump and both were perfect.

The bar area is good and we were served by the only member of the Torridon team who displayed warmth and charm. Everyone else was robotic and lacked a human touch. The restaurant was cool and borderline uncomfortable just like the staff who served our table of 4. Service is abysmal with poor timing, disjointed service and very mechanical. Some of the food was OK but for the prices charged was really disappointing. One of our party ordered steak to be cooked medium rare. It was pink on the inside but all evidence of life had been sucked out of it, basically a dry lump of warm animal flesh. There wasn't any satisfaction check and we complained to our server when plates were cleared. We heard no more about it. Overall an absolute waste of time and money.

Firsty, I have received what equates to a 15% refund of my total spend after contacting the hotel...and I did raise my concerns directly with a member of staff while we were there. Neverless, I am totally perplexed at the service and standards given the reputation of this hotel. The location and grandure is certainly not matched by food and service. Another review describes a "faulty towers " experience that absolutely sums up breakfast. Absolutely astounded how inexperienced some the staff seemed. Huge expensive mistake!

Lovely location in an old lodge right on the water. Very traditional feel. The dining room was fully booked so they kindly gave us a table in the whiskey bar, which was actually great for us as it was very cosy and felt a bit less formal. Food was fine, but it is very expensive and I didn't personally feel it was worth the money. We had better meals elsewhere for less. Service was good.

Not well stocked and very expensive. Paid £2.25 for half loaf of bread. Other products on shelves well above acceptable price. Just a couple of hundred yards away is the local garage with very reasonable fuel prices and an excellent choice of hot and cold snacks from breakfast, throughout the day. So popular and there is a really comfortable covered in facility to eat should weather be inclement. Gem of a find and next door to the Caravan Club site where we were staying. Visitors making full use of this excellently facility.

We booked the Frigate online well in advance of our visit to Ullapool. When I got an email cancellation at the last minute I was suspicious that their booking system had been hacked (!) but after managing to get in touch with them via Facebook Messenger (they didn't answer the phone) it turned out that they had closed because of a lack of staff. We were able to confirm that they were indeed closed when we got to Ullapool ourselves.
