We came to Skoon a few times since it opened its doors and were back today (my other half, her father and I) while visiting family on Harris: we spoke to Emma and she was great to talk to. The place has not lost any of its charm, a real oasis for visitors and with delicious bakes/coffee. The artwork by John is splendid, and there is a good collection of sheet music (trad music for clarsach and fiddle, mainly) and CDs/Vinyls. I would be back in a heartbeat! Francesco

The tag line is the "Smallest chippy in Scotland", they work out of a fairly small shed with a number of small fryers. There's space for about 4-5 cars so I didn't have a problem parking. There's an easy to use online ordering system, I picked up the QR code at the nearby campsite I was staying at. You pick a 10 minute slot for your collection which is arranged online to stop them getting overloaded. I had large haddock, chips and mushy peas which were cooked to order. The haddock was perfectly battered and cooked, the chips were just right too. The mushy peas looked natural rather than full of green dye. All in all it was worthy of five star all round. Probably a couple of £ more than the average chippy, but well above average so good value. More than happy to recommend.

This was our second visit to Mollins, and if we are back on Lewis again we will return. We ordered a large haddock and chips, black pudding supper, and 2 macaroni with chips. My wife has coeliac so requires a safe place to eat gluten free, the staff have a great knowledge of the condition which means it’s pretty safe from cross contamination. The staff are also very friendly. My wife stated this was the best gluten free fish supper she had eaten, the other meals were also very tasty. The cost won’t break the bank either. I would advise you to book online in advance as we seen a few walk ins disappointed as the slots were full. We also go an extra 3 pieces of fish due to a mix up with another order.

We’d heard about the Bistro but hadn’t visited until one Saturday when we called in hoping to get a late lunch. We had food which was so delicious. Rarely have I enjoyed a meal so much and I am recommending that, if they want to eat the most delicious food, prepared by a skilful chef, assisted by friendly staff and at a price that won’t break the bank, my summer guests need look no further. I only hope that there’ll be a table left for me! Well done everyone.

This came recommended by friends (we seem to have missed it repeatedly!) and it opens on a Sunday (yeeha) - modern, warm and inviting place just opposite the Council Offices (and next to the Smokehouse) - we were there early for brunch - it was busy but not crowded - great food and coffee menu and helpful staff. Food was rapid and excellent quality. Loved it

Founds this pop-up by accident one day and made a point of returning the next. Brilliant local seafood, thoughtful and tasty accompanying ingredients, well cooked and delightfully served.

Inspired by the “EatDrinkHebrides” trail map, popped in to collect a picnic lunch during a Hebridean road trip. We had the most amazing toasties and hot chocolate. Handy for the ferry. Worth a detour!!

An absolute gem of a restaurant looking over the harbour. A warm welcome on arrival and an extremely good dinner. The scallops and smoked salmon starters were superb and we followed up with cod, halibut and pork belly every one of which were genuinely delicious. I can’t recommend a restaurant more highly.

Found this spot towards the end of our stay in Berneray. Food was really spot on, I had French onion soup to start and haunch of venison with Arran mustard mash and cabbage. So good. Service may seem a touch abrupt but actually I think that’s wrong, they were really nice.

A stunning hotel and restaurant, beautifully decorated and in a beautiful location. On the way in we saw two stags in the surrounding grounds, looking majestic. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the whole place had such a community feel as they knew a lot of the diners, it really does seem to be the place to go for a meal. We are in the bar area as we had our dog, the staff, the food was beautiful, fresh fish and chips were the best I've eaten, and a steak which looked amazing and cooked to perfection. Then the desserts, creme brulee and a sticky toffee pudding - again perfect. We can't wait to be back on Uist to visit again.
