Inspired by the “EatDrinkHebrides” trail map, popped in to collect a picnic lunch during a Hebridean road trip. We had the most amazing toasties and hot chocolate. Handy for the ferry. Worth a detour!!

Great service. Fast, fresh food. We had a bacon, Brie and chutney toastie and loaded fries to share. Absolutely delicious 😋

We were visiting South Uist for the day whilst spending a week on Barra and were delighted to find this absolute gem of a cafe. The quality of the contents of the speciality ‘breakfast burrito’ was first class, the portion generous, everything was freshly made, and the accompanying coffee was perfect too. The cafe also has a great range of local produce so we were able to buy Tiree Tea and local shortbread to take home as gifts. If you’re in this part of the world make a point of calling in. You’ll be pleased that you did.

This was our second visit to Mollins, and if we are back on Lewis again we will return. We ordered a large haddock and chips, black pudding supper, and 2 macaroni with chips. My wife has coeliac so requires a safe place to eat gluten free, the staff have a great knowledge of the condition which means it’s pretty safe from cross contamination. The staff are also very friendly. My wife stated this was the best gluten free fish supper she had eaten, the other meals were also very tasty. The cost won’t break the bank either. I would advise you to book online in advance as we seen a few walk ins disappointed as the slots were full. We also go an extra 3 pieces of fish due to a mix up with another order.

Tucked away on the other side of the pier, this is a fantastic takeaway, the taster box was delicious and so fresh. Loved the scallops which were perfectly cooked. Thank you.

Stunning view and friendly, efficient staff in a small family-run hotel. The quality of food was excellent, but fully grown humans may wish to order two main courses each, such was the rather miserly amount of actual food - scallops and monkfish respective.y - on our plates. Top marks for presentation and taste, but would have loved a little more.

We ate twice at Scarista House Restaurant during our recent trip to Harris. We have dined here before on previous visits over the last 20 years and this year it was better than ever. Beautifully prepared local food. First menu - Twice baked cheese soufflé, followed by Stornoway landed hake in a delicious sauce and some delicious vegetables. and then a chocolate roulade!. Second menu - goats cheese, courgette and cheese raviol with a nettle pesto (amazing!) followed by local hand dived scallops and the most delicious lemon tart with excellent pastry, lemon verbena ice cream and a strawberry and pink peppercorn coulis. Fabulous! Highly recommend the cooking here! An absolute delight!
