Mollans Takeaway in Eilean Siar

This was our second visit to Mollins, and if we are back on Lewis again we will return. We ordered a large haddock and chips, black pudding supper, and 2 macaroni with chips. My wife has coeliac so requires a safe place to eat gluten free, the staff have a great knowledge of the condition which means it’s pretty safe from cross contamination. The staff are also very friendly. My wife stated this was the best gluten free fish supper she had eaten, the other meals were also very tasty. The cost won’t break the bank either. I would advise you to book online in advance as we seen a few walk ins disappointed as the slots were full. We also go an extra 3 pieces of fish due to a mix up with another order.

We are having a major refurb of our croft so decided to get out of the building site and go off around theis fantastic island we are proud to call home. We have no kitchen so on the way back we decided we would get something out.. we stumbled on Mullans fish and chips. OMG I was brought up in a chippy and so it takes a lot to impress. I was impressed. Rachel's chips are fantastic, the fish batter light and crispy. The diversity of the menus, they cater of vegans, celiacs, lactose intolerant, was amazing for a wee place in Shawbost, and the staff were as friendly as you get used to on the island. The cats are gourgeous and they even have a sprocker, what more could you want..oh and did i say the food is amazing. Add this stop to you food trail, you wont regret it.

Lovely small fish & chip hut in a very remote place. There are just a few seats there - the food served was excellent. Rachel is a super cook! I took the small Haddock - and it was more than a full meal for me. Prices were absolutely reasonable and the staff was lovely!

Rachel et Julie sont adorables. La nourriture est excellente !!! Nous avons passé un très bon moment. Super adresse sur la route de Butt of Lewis!

Well cooked fish and chips, obviously prepared with care and inclusivity.. taking pride in allergen awareness. A lovely experience from ordering on phone to pick up.. we were lucky we pre booked.. (recommended)

Pre ordered fish and chicken to collect on my way home from work. Prompt and friendly service food freshly cooked and piping hot. Soo good all eaten before I thought about taking pictures. Batter beautifully light and crispy fish and chicken both tender and moist oh and almost forgot excellent mushy peas too.

The best fish and chips on the island. You have to book a time slot and the fish and chips are freshly cooked and ready for you when you get there. Well worth a visit

Mollans Takeaway was on my “to do list” when visiting Lewis. I had been following their Facebook page for months, and drooling over all their food every time they posted! Once I knew the dates we were visiting, I didn’t hesitate in pre-ordering our fish and chip suppers. On the way, our navigation got us a bit lost so we were going to be late for our pick up time. I messaged the owners to let them know, and once we finally arrived, they told us they put our dinners in the oven to keep warm. How incredibly thoughtful!! Our meal was worth the months of waiting and the wee “detour”. The fish was so fresh and battered beautifully. Everything was excellent!! We were able to have a wee seat in their eating area, and we met some of their lovely cats. Our children loved the ducks too! Before we left I popped in and grabbed some fresh eggs. Those eggs made our breakfast the next day! Overall, this place is a place you MUST visit whilst on Lewis! Thank you all for your lovely hospitality and wonderful food. We will be back!!

Fantastic fish and chips well worth the money the chips and batter are just how I like it , it’s run by a friendly family people

Been twice now for fish and chips. Excellent meal both times and close to the shore or other locations with a view to enjoy them. Really fresh fish cooked well. Perfect

What a little gem of a place the batter was so light and not greasy. In fact the whole meal wasn’t greasy. Tasted fresh and it is a generous portion. We only went for the small haddock, and thankfully a good choice as couldn’t finish it. We used the booking system for a time to collect our dinner - superb. It was all ready and the hosts are delightful.

Wonderful little (and colourful) corner to stop by, great fish&chips and very friendly staff. It’s at the end of the road (keep going, it is there!), with parking space. Very happy to have found them!

Excellent find - Smallest Fish and Chip shop in Scotland - brilliant Peat Bog Pudding with Whiskey Ice Cream ! Lovely hosts - throughly recommend a visit.

We stopped at Mollians on our travel to Shalloch Beach. We saw a sign saying food and thought we would give it a go... I ordered the Goose Burger which is locally sourced and it was delish sorry no picture as it was too yummy.

Fantastic fish and chip takeaway I’ve enjoyed a few of these takeaways now and never been disappointed

We stopped by here on the off chance just after opening time and were welcomed by Julie who treated us to a tour of their small holding (Rachel was chasing Chickens). We placed our order and the chicken Rustling concluded and Rachel hit the fryer. 20 Mins later after a find farewell we were sat on a beach 300 m away from Scotland smallish fish and chip bar eating delicious fish and chips. The batter was so good!! Thank you!! (They also have a lovely little shop selling sweet treats, butter, cheese, cakes, bread, milk and more).

Absolutely delicious fish and chips and, according to my other half 'the best pie and chips I've ever had'! Lovely people, lovely place, lovely food. And the view from the shore to eat it was incredible too.

Arranged a take-away for a large group of rowdy boys who were very hungry on a stag doo. The staff were more than accommodating letting us into their home to use the facilities. We had to pre-order because of the size of our group, our food was beautifully cooked and ready for us when we arrived. The groom to be was given a bottle of prosecco which was a lovely touch topping off a 10/10 experience. Highly recommend.

I have been cycling the Heberdeen way. On a rest day I came across this fantastic place. I was cooked a delicious fresh burger for lunch. Got a takeaway curry. And decided to book sweet-and-sour prawns and chips for the following night. The food was delicious. Freshly cooked, and served with care. Julie and Rachel were great company and exceptional hosts. I would wholeheartedly recommend this fantastic little place to anybody passing by.

Popped in for a quick look, and ended up having a great roll and bacon and cup of coffee, picked up a couple of things from the shed and had a chat with the owner learned a bit about seaweed in cooking, also got to pet her beautiful cats( which I loved). Definitely worth a trip out to see her.

An excellent fish supper, homemade mushy peas and tartare sauce. A friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We will be back!

Good food, and delivery SVC to nearby campsite. Based at a house+shed full of home-made produce (Inc wooly hats and scarves). Fish&chips Fri &sat, curry this weds..Both meals were excellent! Well worth a visit.!

We ordered fish and chips for our first full evening on the Island …. They were amazing !!! They were being prepared as we arrived and we’re ready a few minutes later. As we weren’t staying locally, we took them to Shawbost Beach and enjoyed...

We wandered across this little cafe while out for a walk. It was only9.50am and was closed but the two owners saw us waiting and welcomed us in. We all had hot drinks and I had an hot apple muffin, OMG it was so nice....

Amazing GF fish and chips. Best GF batter ever tasted - had to double check it actually was GF. Fish tasted fresh with no grease. Chips were yummy too - and huge portions. Lovely friendly couple. Def recommend

Decided to try the fish and chips on our recent trip to Lewis. Food and service was excellent! Would highly recommend this wee gem! If your staying in the area its a must! Pre ordering was quick and straightforward and is prepared freshly for you....

Beautifully cooked fish and chips, lovely light batter and perfect fish. Plus really good home made burgers (including home baked buns!). Just right for eating overlooking the Atlantic. Incredibly friendly and welcoming owners too. We'll be back next time we're in Lewis!

Pre-booked for 18:00 and our meal was being finalised as we arrived. A really nice and slightly spicy vegan pasty with lots of chips (and mushy peas). Another great thing about this location is that it is a 2 minute drive from the standing stones...

We discovered Mollans whilst cycling the Hebridean way. It was a welcome pit stop for a fresh, homemade, delicious and warm meal. Yummy cakes and friendly service to boot.

The best and biggest fresh cream meringues I have ever had. No calories!! Worth a visit and you can see the Callanish Alpacas too.

First class, wonderful homemade food. Very reasonable prices and excellent service. I had macaroni cheese with chips and beans which was delicious and certainly filled a hole! Husband enjoyed his pie.
