We managed to get a table here during the Fire Festival in between events. Da Haaf is always very good, but that night the Mussel Pakora and the Cullenskink starters were superb. We had for our mains multiple homemade scampi and fish and chips, the dishes were so tasty, sometimes you don't need super fancy recipes to get well cooked perfection. A few of us had pudding unfortunately the rest of us were too full. The feedback was the puddings were also very good indeed. The service from the staff was also of a very high standard and all on duty that night are to be commended for their attention to detail. Looking forward to having another visit soon.

Great little stop and interesting town. Stopped on our way to Inverness and just made an order before their deadline. The restaurant was closing an hour earlier than google posted. We had soup and sandwiches: minted pea soup was great and I had the crazy Sammy of the day; panini with tuna, bacon, Brie cheese, cranberries, and mayo. Scoff if you will: it was great!!!! Hubs had a hamburger which arrived with a fried egg on it: he loved it. The owner was warm and struck up a conversation with us on the town when we asked. In all a great little place for lunch.

All the sandwiches and the steak pie were excellent. All breads are made fresh daily and the sweets are delicious. Limited seating but we did eat lunch inside.

Best vegetarian/vegan hot dog ever! (Vegan dog with mushrooms and cheese) Chips were great and service with a smile. Wish I'd got a cake as well so will have to go back soon! My pal had a chicken and bacon burger and was also well chuffed and stuffed. The seating is outside picnic tables, which was fine for us but others might find it chilly in a normal November, so you'd maybe want to sit in your vehicle.

Fantastic find, a small well run cafe in Dalwhinnie Village. Grat minutes with plenty Gluten Free options. Staff excellent and well versed on all menu options. Great service with fresh food.

Took a late last minute booking, attention to detail by our waitstaff was great. The young lady was always checking the glassware before serving people and very interactive. Was a please to eat here and would ho again. Sea Trout was excellent as were the scallops. Atmosphere was great, parking ample. Seats comfy and not squished in to table. Do not go to Rosedale Hotel in Portree very bad at everything.

We visited today for some lunch. The food menu was varied and reasonably priced. The drinks cabinet had only a small selection but we all found something we wanted. The staff member on the till was lovely. There was quite a wait on food but I felt it was worth it as everything was lovely and hot and as far as I could tell it was made to order. We are deducting one star for cutlery not being readily available (it was busy so it was understandable)

This was to be our one night of “luxurious accommodation” after touring for 10 days in b&b’s. Turns out that the b&b’s were the luxury (Water’s Edge Cottage on Loch Lomond, Heatherfield House on Skye and Springfield Lodge in Stirling, all superb 5*). Paid £229.50 for one night back in March for a Superior double room, which now looks nothing like the current photo on the web site. Old fashioned especially the bathroom, room overlooked the loch but through a small window you needed to be standing up to see through. Decided not to eat here so it was fish and chips in the car in Fort Augustus. Much more expensive than the rest so our verdict was “very “disappointing” and a poor choice. Wine by the bottle not the glass!
